Review and Swatches: NYX Round Lipsticks

Opal: A sheer purple/blue glossy color. It looks best if used under a lipgloss. As you will see from the swatch on my lips, it doesn't look all that great by itself. My lips are super chapped right now, so I apologize. Even if my lips aren't chapped, this accentuates my lip lines. When I apply a gloss over it, it looks so much better.

'Opal'

Snow White: A medium toned true red. The name is so fitting, it looks exactly like the lip color that Snow White wears. Out of all the lipsticks I got, this is my favorite. The formula is amazing, and it looks great on the lips. I can see why it is always sold out! It is best to use a lip liner with this, which I did not put on when I swatched it on my lips and you can notice I applied it very sloppy ;)

Orange Soda: God, I hate this. It so hideous on me. I thought it was going to be more orange, but it is way too beige. It just looks disgusting on my lips.I hate it so much, I can't even a take a good picture of it swatched on my lips; it really emphasizes my dry lips and lip lines. What I am currently using this for it to lighten other orange lip products. I can apply it under a brighter orange lipstick or lip gloss to make it lighter and more creamy looking. I have a swatch of this applied under my Revlon lip gloss in 'Papaya'. I really like the combo.

Strawberry Milk: A pigmented, light pink. Nothing too special besides the fact that it is very creamy and pigmented. The formula is very smooth, but my lips don't like it very much. I like the color, but I hate how it looks on my lips.

Castle: A medium toned, slightly shimmery purple. It is slightly vampy, but not as dark as most dark purples. I actually really like this, I think it will be a great color for fall.

Power: A dusty, greyed, lavender color. Seems to be a mix of MAC 'Lavender Whip' and MAC 'Blooming Lovely'. I really love colors like this, and this is no exception. It is smooth, and very pigmented.

I purchased these on eBay, seller joy017. I paid $10.89 plus shipping for the 6 lipsticks. Quite a good deal, right? And she included a free gift [a NYX lip liner] with this purchase. 

My favorite is Snow White, it is the most beautiful red lipstick I have ever seen. And the price makes it even more amazing!

I have been wanting to do this for a while, but my lips got sooo chapped. When I get sick, my lips peel like crazy for some reason, and I am trying to get them back to normal. It doesn't help that my lips are naturally very dry. But hopefully, you can get an idea of what these look like on the lips :D

EOTD: Dolly Wink Eyeshadows #02 Gray Pink

I finally attempted to recreate the look Tsubasa Masuwaka had on using the Dolly Wink Eyeshadow in #02 'Grey Pink'. If you have not read my review on this please check it out.
This is the look:

I followed the tutorial that was included with the eyeshadow quad:

Before I show you the look, I just want to say that I do not think I look like Tsuabasa Masuwaka, or do I think I am as pretty as her. I thought it would be interesting to try and recreate the look to test out these eyeshadows and see how well they worked. Also, I must say that I had to use my Pixie Epoxy to get these shadows to be more vibrant, because they were really light and softly colored when applied to the eye lid.

When I was applying the eyeshadows, I was not happy with how they were applying. But after I finished the look, I really loved it! I am loooving this look a lot. Although I think it looks a lot better with fake eyelashes, which I have on  [I have some Revlon eyelashes on]. I am still not happy with my applicatin of falsies, I need a lot of practice D: To really make this look like Tsubasa Masuwaka's look, it is better to also apply falsies on the lower lash line. Unfortunately, I do not have any. D:

Do you guys like the look? Any advice on how to improve it?

Review: Dolly Wink Eyeshadow #02 'Gray Pink'

Dolly Wink is an amazing Japanese brand by Tsubasa Masuwaka. For a while now I have been drooling in want for some Dolly Wink products, but they are quite pricey for people in the US. I've waited for a while, but I finally caved in and purchased one of the Dolly Wink eye shadow quads.

Price

$23.99 at imomoko.com. As a side note, imomoko.com is a great place to find Asian cosmetics and skincare. Super fast shipping, I ordered mine on Friday and received it on Monday :D This is one of the only websites where I have seen the Dolly Wink eye shadows.

Packaging

The eye shadow compact comes packaged with a small booklit type of thing. It is really cute! I love that it comes with instructions as well as pictures of Tsubasa Masuwaka wearing the eye shadows. So you open the the attached booklit, and there is a lot of pictures on the inside.

The inside also has a tutorial on how to re-create Tsubasa's makeup, although it is in Japanese. My Japanese is still not good enough for me to translate it too well. But It does have pictures, so you can still understand what to do.

 

I really liked how this had tons of pictures. She is really pretty and cute! 

Eye Shadows

Swatches

PROS:
~Super cute [LOL]
~Portable, small enough that it won't take up much space
~The colors are really pretty
~The colors are not harsh, and very wearable
~Includes a very helpful tutorial
CONS:
~Expensive [To me, at least]
~Not easy to find in the US
~Not as pigmented as I had expected
~Although cute, the packaging seems a little flimsy
~For the price, I would have preferred a bigger compact

Overall, I like it. I really like the colors and how they look together. There are things it could improve on, and I would recommend it for the colors, but I don't think this is a must have. It is nice to have, but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it unless you are a huge Tsubasa Masuwaka fan or something of that sort.
I will do a look using this quad. I will try to re-create the look she has on, because I really like it.

Have any of you tried Dolly Wink products? If so tell me what you thought about them. I would really like to try some other products from this brand.

Review and Comparison: SKIN79 'The Oriental Gold' BB Cream [Warning:Long Post]

If you have read some of my other posts, you might know that I have been loving the Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream. It was the first BB cream I ever purchased, and I wanted to try out some more BB creams to see if I can find a better one. About 3 weeks ago, I made a purchase on Pretty&Cute because I wanted a back up of my Lioele BB cream since that is what I use on an everyday basis. I also ended up getting another BB cream by SKIN79. I choose the Oriental Gold BB cream because that is what Eki uses, and she recommended that BB cream. It also comes with a lip and cheek tint, so that is a plus.

SKIN79: $23.99 for 40mL of product
Lioele: $28.60 for 50mL


Packaging

You can see what the product claims to do.

At first, I really liked the packaging. The container is pretty and a little heavy; it has the lip and cheek tint at the top and lid has a mirror. But I hate the pump of this product. I'm not even sure if I can call it a pump.

 So  when you take of the cap, there is a hole in the middle of the pump, and you push down anywhere on the surface and the product comes out of the hole. [>_<]"

 See? It is weird and messy. Also, it is a bit difficult to get a precise amount of product. I usually get too much or too little. Overall, I am not very impressed with the pump mechanics of this BB cream.

Here is the BB cream with the cap on. The cap has a lid at the top and if you flip it open, you can see the lip and cheek tint as well as a small mirror. I really like how the installed this tint on the cap. It is convenient and very cute. Thumbs up for them.

BB Cream
The BB cream is actually very nice. It offers okay coverage, it gives the skin an amazing glow, and its also very easy to blend and very natural looking. But, it is also much more sheer compared to my Lioele BB cream, which gives great coverage.
This BB cream is a more traditional BB cream, meaning that it is designed for people who already have fairly good skin and just want something to cover up redness and maybe a few blemishes. This is a problem for me because I have a lot of acne scars and I have to use a really good concealer in order to use this BB cream because the BB cream does not cover up my acne scars. Also, I find that this BB cream is way too glowy. When I apply it, I feel that I have to apply a powder because it looks too dewy and thus makes me look oily [I have combo skin, more dry/normal than oily]. I think this will be better for girls with  very dry skin, especially during the winter time.
The staying power is good, but because it is very dewy, you will most likely have to touch up at least once throughout the day. During the course of the day, I had to touch up twice during an 8 hour interval. Of course, this will depend on your own skin and on the powder you use.

Comparison of SKIN79 and Lioele
 

Skin79 blends in much better than the Lioele, and looks more natural, but it is a lot sheerer. Notice the difference is color as well. Lioele has a stronger yellow undertone, and SKIN79 has a more beige/pinkish undertone. But once you blend the colors in, the undertone isn't too prominent, yet it is still something to consider when deciding on a BB cream. Skin tone wise, I feel that the SKIN79 BB cream suits me better, but on my face, I like the Lioele one better.

Lip&Cheek Tint
I actually really like this, although I do not use it while wearing this BB cream. I feel the BB cream is too dewy and if I add this tint, which is also very glowy, it will make my face look oily. It is a very light and natural cool pink that blends very easily into the skin.

PROS:
~Good price for the amount of product you get
~BB cream include a lip and cheek tint
~Easy to blend
~Looks natural on the skin
~Has SPF 25
~Better coverage than a tinted moisturizer, but feels just as light
~In the long run, might help to whiten skin and to lighten acne scars
CONS:
~Not locally available for most people
~The pump is terrible
~Not convenient size for travel; it is too bulky
~Not a good BB cream for people with too many skin problems
~Does not cover up acne scars
~Too dewy, so you must use a good powder over it

I recommend this BB cream for people with dry skin, or people who already have good skin and just want something to give a little bit of coverage. I think BB creams are much better than tinted moisturizers, and they are a good option for summer time wear. They have SPF and feel super light on the skin. Of course, BB creams are targeted for girls with lighter skin, so I am sorry for those of you who's skin color is out of range of most BB cream.
