NOTD: OPI 'Starnger Tides'

Yet again, I added another bottle of OPI nail polish to my collection.
It is 'Stranger Tides' from the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection.

Color: A grayed, sage green.
Finish: Creme

Formula: This has a great formula: smooth, and opaque. Two coats is enough to get a nice even coverage. I have also had this on my nails for the entire week :)I haven't had any chips at all. I just have some tip wear, but that tends to happen with all polishes I wear.

*Side Note: I haven't been doing many nail posts because my nails are really ugly right now. Two of my nails on my swatching hand broke, so they are all uneven lengths. But I will try to do some nail posts either on my right hand of on my left hand thumb, like on this post. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Haul: Zoya Polishes from...Nugget???

Yes, you read correctly. I guess, Nugget [a rather expensive Supermarket] sells Zoya nail polishes.
I was so confused by this I had to make sure I was not being delusional. I stood in front of the Zoya display for a good 5 minutes, in a daze. I was probably drooling too.
I don't know of any other place near my home where they sell Zoya, so I was freaking excited!

I know, I know, I said I wasn't going to buy any more polishes. And I have been hauling a lot lately, but I have finals coming up and I feel like I deserve it!

Anyways, here is what I purchased:

SO if you have been looking for a place to get Zoya polishes and you have a Nugget nearby, you should go and check to see if you store carries Zoya.

EOTD: Lime Crime 'Medusa' and 'Siren' #2

Look #2 for the Lime Crime 'Medusa' and 'Siren' shadows~
This is pretty much the exact same look as the last, except I reversed the colors around. This is to show you guys how different a look can be by merely switching colors around!You can use the same technique and the same colors, the only difference in the placement of the colors. But you will see what I mean when you see the pictures!

The only difference between the two looks is that I applied 'Siren' on the lid and "Medusa' on the lower lash line. That is it ^_^

May Makeup Favorites + Disappointments

This month has gone by so quickly. I also got tons of new products this month so it was hard for me to choose my monthly favorites. But regardless, here are my favorites for the month of May~

Favorites

1. Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream
~I know I have been including this in all my makeup favorites, but this month I actually finished my first tube! I can honestly say that this has become my HG foundation/BB cream! I love it! I am pretty much down to the very last drops of my tube, but thankfully I have a back up :) I am thinking of doing an updated review for this BB cream, but I don't know yet. Let me know if you would like an updated review.

2. MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC20
~Firstly, this color only matches my skin in the summer, hence why I am using it currently. I love this concealer because it covers so nicely and it stays put all day. It is a bit thick, but if you use it correctly it will look fantastic. This has been on my face this entire month,and I have not touched my Kat Von D concealer at all.

3. MAC 'Fun and Games' Sheertone Blush (from the HK collection)
~This was one of my first MAC blushes ever. And although I love it, I had not been using it. So this month I decided that I needed to use it! And I have been using it every other day. Not only is it a perfect color for spring/summer, but it is sheer enough that it will give the skin a subtle color and shimmer. It is great for a more natural, peachy cheek.

4. Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel
~Amazing bronzer! It does not look orange on my skin and it blends so easily. I have been using this a lot this month! But as you can see from the picture below, my brush sheds a little >_<"

5.Dolly Wink liquid liner
~The most precise, the most easy to use, and the cutest eyeliner I have ever encountered! A bit expensive, but definitely worth the money.

7.Revlon Pink Pout Lipstick
~Perfect pink  for my skin tone! It is a pink with some purple undertones that is very wearable for everyday. And its a matte that does not dry out my lips! This is my HG drugstore lipstick. I will always repurchase this. I love it more than many of my MAC lipsticks. High end, does not mean better quality~

8. OPI Mermaid Tears
~My favorite nail polish of the month. A gorgeous minty, sea foam teal. Hard to describe!

Disappointments!!
Some disappointing products for this month are:

1.MAC MSF Natural and Studio Fix Powder Foundation
~I am among the many that breakout anytime these products come into contact with my face. Why??? I have no clue, but yet again these were extremely disappointing this month. I gave them another try and BAAM! Right in the face! Literally!They broke me out horribly.

2.NARS eyeliner 'Kitty'
~Such a shame. This color is so beautiful! It is a vibrant sky blue that looks so amazing! But it smudges like crazy. If an eyeliner could have mental problem and be clinically insane, then this eyeliner would definitely be in a mental institution. Ugh. The worst part is that I wore it when it was not even hot. Imagine this:
Its a warm, sunny day. Your eye makeup is beautifully done, accented by a gorgeous blue eyeliner. And then suddenly....MELTDOWN! Your eyeliner is all over the place! Splashes of blue EVERYWHERE!!!
Yeah... no thanks, I'm good.

I hope that "My Favorites" posts are useful and informative for you guys. I am going to start to write down what products I hated for every month since I feel that I don't do posts on products that I didn't not like.

EOTD: Lime Crime 'Medusa' and 'Siren' #1

Hi lovelies ♥

Today, I have one of two looks I did using two pigments from Lime Crime. I used 'Medusa', a really dark, blacked, green (almost looks more like a black with subtle green shimmer), and 'Siren', a shimmery flat out red. Both colors are really pigmented and 'Siren' is a really unique color. I don't see many reds out there, and this red is really cool. I hope you guys enjoy ^_^

This look was inspired by the Dolly Wink look that I recreated. It was a look worn by Tsubasa Masuwaka. Check that eye look HERE.

Warning: This look is not for the faint hearted! Not everyone will like like this, but I personally love wearing dark and bold colors! 

What I used:
~UD Primer Potion
~Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
~Lime Crime 'Medusa'
~Lime Crime 'Siren'
~KKCenterhk Lashes [1/3 of the lash that I cut]
~CG Lash Blast Fusion Mascara
~MAC 239 flat shader brush
~MAC 217 blending brush
~Tokidoki liner brush

How I Achieved this Look:
1. I applied my primer and Pixie Epoxy. This is completely optional but it makes the eyeshadows look much better.
2.I applied 'Medusa' to my lid using my 239 brush, packing on on the color. I made sure to get the color on my inner corners and pushed the color slightly past the crease.
3. Then, I used my liner brush and applied 'Siren" on my lower lash line. I had also applied Pixie Epoxy on my lower lash line prior to applying 'Siren' to make sure the color would stay put.
4.Using my 217 blending brush, I blended out 'Medusa' on my crease to smoke it out slightly.
5.Then using the 217, I used the tiniest amount of 'Siren' and applied it on the crease. It gives that area a very subtle reddish shimmer.
6.Applied falsies and mascara~
AND BAM! YOUR DONE <3

 

I personally really like this look. It is not subtle at all! Not necessarily something I would wear everyday though, but it is cool for like nights out, or concerts or church or whatever. Just kidding! I would never wear this to church! The priest would probably try to exorcise me right then and there.

Haul: CVS Essie Nail Polishes

Hello fellow makeup Addicts~

I went to CVS the other day because I have been on a non-stop search for Essie's 'Smooth Sailing' nail polish from the Braziliant collection. And after visiting about 5 different drugstores, I finally found it at my local CVS. And I also picked some other Essie polishes...hehehe. I have been really loving Essie lately! I only used to own one Essie polish and that was 'Demure Vixen'. But I really got into the other Essie colors.

 These are the polishes I bought. As you can see 3 of them were 50% off. Those three are from the French Affair collection and I guess they wanted to sell them quickly.

Sand Tropez/ Coat Azure/ Nice is Nice/ Smooth Sailing

Lapis of Luxery/ Cute As A Button/ Lilacism

Look at the beautiful-ness that is Smooth Sailing!

Out of all of these, I think Smooth Sailing is my favorite, followed by Cute As A Button. If you see Smooth Sailing definitely pick it up! Cute As A Button is a permanent color, so no need to rush for that one.

My Beauty Diary Reviews: Sake Yeast Mask

Sake Yeast Mask

What this mask is for:

~Anti-Aging

~Clarifying

~Collagen Boost

~Moisturizing

~Regenerating

~Softening

~Whitening

Characteristics [from the My Beauty Diary website]:

Sake brewed from deep ocean water, the sake yeast extract promotes the regenerating of cells, allowing skin to be clear and radiant. The Vegetal Collagen provides the nourishment needed by the skin maintaining the skin’s regenerating healing function.Cactus Extract contains rich amount of flavonoids, polysaccharide and amino acids which keeps the skin hydrated. Grapefruit extracts soften skins and regulates sebum secretion, allowing skin to stay refreshed and oil free. Algae Extract improves the skin metabolism and keeps the skin elastic and firm.

Some Good Things:

The very first thing I noticed when I applied this mask is that it actually has a slight alcohol smell. Which, in my view, is good because you know that there is actually sake yeast in the ingredients. I didn't mind the smell at all, it was not too strong, but if you are very sensitive to smells and you don't like the smell of alcohol, beware. 25 minutes later and my skin felt really smooth, radiant, and yet...a well you will see in the bad things below. It definitely moisturizes your skin a little, not too much though. I would say this is good for people with combo/ oily skin since it gives you moisturizing properties but it doesn't over moisturize your skin. As far as clarifying and whitening, my skin did seem brighter and ever so slightly whiter. It also felt softer. I am not sure on the Anti-Aging and Collagen boost; you will probably have to use these for a while to notice those kind benefits. 

Some Bad Things:

From all the MBD masks I have tried, this one felt slightly sticky. I am not sure why, but when I took it off, I had a sticky feeling to my skin that I did not have with the other masks. I did not wash my face since you are supposed to massage in the left over product left on your skin. Maybe it was the sake yeast? Who knows...

Overall:

To me, this seems like a good mask for more mature skin. I personally did not think too much of this mask, it was okay. I like it, but I prefer some of the other MBD masks. 

What stood out to me in this mask is the fact that it smells like sake. It is very odd to me and yet kind of cool. This is my first time using a product with sake, and I have heard so many good things about skincare that has sake in it. I think with long term use, you might get the benefits of sake from this mask.

I would definitely repurchase and revisit this mask again, but in a couple of years when my skin is more mature.For now, there are a ton of other better masks awaiting to be discovered.
