Guest Post: Favorite Lip Glosses For Summer

Hey loves!
Today's guest post is brought to you by Aly from Wonderland Beauty. Please check out her blog and leave your lovely thoughts in the comment box :) I will definitely check out your favorites Aly! I love trying new products! And thank you for being part of the Dark Side :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi! My name is Aly and my blog is www.seventhingsbeauty.blogspot.com. I'm so excited to be doing a guest post for The Dark Side of Beauty, since I'm quickly becoming obsessed with reading all of Nancy's posts! I thought that for my guest post I would love to list some of my favorite lipglosses for summer!  I love glosses, but so many feel really heavy, too heavy to wear in summer. I've only found a few lipglossess that are lightweight and also are  really glossy and not sticky! I figured I could share those with you today!

I absolutely love the Essence Stay With me Lipgloss in the color Trendsetter. At first glance, it looks really bright and really intense. But when applied to the lips, it's sheer but still gives you a great pop of color. The texture is kind of thick and like a jelly, it's not super thin or runny, it's more thick and creamy. It glides onto the lips so smoothly, and I was super impressed, since these glosses are super inexpensive at ULTA!

I'm also loving the Beauty UK Lip Lust in the color Sweet  Sixteen. I got this in a blogger swap, and this is my first UK lipgloss! :) The color is a really pretty sheer pink with sutble shimmer. This also smells amazing, kind of like berry! Everytime I wear it, I'm greeted with an amazing fruity scent. It stays on long, too- perfect for summer when you are to on-the-go to reapply!
Natural Collection Juicy Lips in the color Fondant is another UK lip gloss that I'm obsessed with! Worn alone, it's a beautiful milky, peachy pink. {It's also a spot-on dupe for Too Faced Glamour Gloss in Barely Legal!}  but worn over pretty much any lipstick, it's just a shiny wash of beautiful pink color. Consider my obsessed.
Clarins Natural Lip Perfector in Shade 02 is the best peachy creme color in the world! It also smells heavenly, just like a MAC lipstick! Sugary sweet, with a bit of vanilla mixed in. The color is an amazing thing to wear on low-key days, since it looks natural and chic at the same time!
And lastly, Fyrinnae Lip Lustre in Romantique! This is in the running to be my ultimate favorite lip product! The color is gorgeous, a sheer pink with golden shimmer, and I wear it nearly everyday. It also looks amazing paired over MAC Lovelorn lipstick. I have the sample size, but once I use it all, I WILL buy the full sized one!
Thank you so much Nancy for letting my guest post on your great blog!
Thank you again Aly! ♥

Guest FOTD: Jackie's Simple Twiggy Look

I have been blogging for a little over a year now, and I feel the need to show you guys a little more of my life. The best way to do that, I thought, was to ask one of my best friends to do a FOTD for you all. This look was done at the same time I did my Modern Twiggy look.

Before anything, let me introduce you to my friend Jackie (aka Jax or, my personal favorite, the Jackinator). We have been friends since high school and have maintained a strong friendship since then. Us two, along with two other friends, we like to be hyper and crazy people. Yup, I swear we should not be allowed to be out in public. So basically I love this girl to death and I am glad she approved the use of the following pictures! Jackie is by all means a basic makeup user, not at all like me. She likes to keep it simple and therefore is still learning new methods of applying makeup. This was her first attempt at the Twiggy look and I think she did a fantastic job!

Guest Post: DIY Bentonite Clay Mask

As as a beauty blogger, I wish I could blog more about skin care products. Unfortunately, I am not very knowledgeable in the skin care area. So I am happy to have a lovely guest blogger to show you guys a really awesome DIY clay mask. Today we have Nadège Ngomsi from Atomic Beaute. Thank you so much Nadège for sharing valuable skin care tips with us. Please check out her blog for more DIYs and beauty related posts!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With as much exposure as we give our faces, masks are a great way to treat our different skin types and skin challenges. Our faces require a good detox once a week to heal after all the makeup and not properly taking care of our skin.
Bentonite clay is here to save the day (in fact, week! This clay is suitable for all skin types. It absorbs toxins, draws out blackheads, kills acne-causing bacteria and is great for spot treatments as well! (Just mix it with a little bit of water). It’s also a great anti-aging ingredient, because it exfoliates the skin, which helps with skin cell turnover.
This following Bentonite mask is a great detox for your skin!

Guest Post: Sparkly Polkadot Manicure

Today's Guest Blogger is the Nail Diva from aviDlianN~ She is fairly new to the blogging community so let's all make her feel right at home! If you had not noticed, I am terrible at nail art, and I really appreciate people who have the patience and the skill to do nail art! So Today the Nail Diva is going to share with us a totally gorgeous mani! She makes it sound so simple! For more nail polish swatches and more nail art, check out her blog.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello beautiful readers! Let me start off by telling you how quickly I jumped at the opportunity to do a guest post on Nancy's blog. Do I stalk her blog? Yes, most of the time. Am I proud of it? Not very. Will I stop anytime soon? Don't hold your breath! =]
I started my blog off very recently and I'm so happy to be a part of this amazing community of beauty lovers. I love that so many people share a huge obsession with makeup including nail polish. My heart is split equally between makeup and nail polish but I blog mainly about polish (because I'm better at it). But every time I see Nancy's posts I decide I need to buy just that one item. And on continues this never-ending cycle. I'd have to say my favorite cosmetic brand is MAC. I know that sounds cliche, but really they have the prettiest lipsticks and eyeshadows, though I'm not a fan of their foundation. Overall, they're my favorite! So today, I want to share with you a manicure that portrays me and my blog all at once. I hope you like it!

I'm gonna do this like on my blog where I explain and list the things I used in the pictures. For this design I used Gabrini Multivitamin in 314 as my base color. Next, I applied a sheer glitter polish (mine had no label) but you can use a polish like Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Disco ball or any other glitter polish you'd like. Then I used Seventeen Super Shine in 286 to create the dots and the bow. I used a thin brush to paint on the bows. And finally I sealed it with topcoat. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing this for you. And thanks to Nancy a million and one times for letting me be a part of your beautiful blog. And have a great day!

Thank you for being a part of The Dark Side of Beauty! Seriously, props to you for being able to do that by hand. This is just so cute! If I did this it would look like a Wookie had painted my nails and then, in desperation, mauled by finger nails off! xD

Guest Post: 3 Ways To Wear Coral Lipstick

Here's something new: the first ever Guest Post on The Dark Side of Beauty! Stacey from The Makeup Edition was kind enough to agree to being the first Guest Blogger~ Stacey is a beautiful woman, inside and out, and extremely charismatic. If you have not checked her blog out yet, you are missing out! She has an amazing ability that makes every lipstick color look awesome on her, she has beautiful lip swatches, and an impeccable taste in fashion. So, what are you waiting for? Go check her blog out.
Thank you so much Stacey for joining the Dark Side!
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi everyone! I'm Stacey from over at the very lipstick-orientated, The Makeup Edition blog. The awesome Nancy has kindly invited me over to guest post here today so I want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for having me and Nancy, you rock! Fingers crossed you won't regret this! :P

So of course the topic that I bring to you all today is *drumroll* lipstick! Corals has got to be my ultimate Spring/Summer go-to and I somehow always manage to find room in my overflowing lipstick collection for a new coral lippie. The shade is vibrant, fresh, fun to wear and looks very flattering across many people. I generally find corals fitting to whatever makeup I have on or to what outfit I'm wearing, and it never fails to brighten up my overall look. Below are 3 of my favorite ways to rock a coral lipstick...

1. Keep it minimal!

There's no better way to wear a bright coral lipstick than to let it have ALL the attention. Simply add a little blush and mascara (foundation optional), then finish up with your favorite coral lipstick. Easy! The brightness of the shade will naturally take center stage!
