I love seeing how people use their highlighters and what different highlighters they use. Everyone has their own preferences and methods to applying highlighters. I have both liquid and powder highlighters, but I tend to use them differently. Here are the highlighters I have, and what I use each different one for.
Liquid Highlighters
For the most part, I like to use liquid highlighters in my foundation. I will add a drop or two of a liquid highlighter into my foundation to make it more luminous. If I forget to do that, then I might get a drop of a liquid highlighter and dab it on my cheeks with my fingers.
MAC Pink Rebel and Sun Rush Lustre Drops
These MAC Lustre Drops work best for me when I add them into my foundation. I don't really like using them over my foundation because I feel that they look too obvious on my skin tone.
1.Reviva Labs Makeup Primer
This was sent to me in the beginning of August, and I have been using it since them. It is the best primer i have ever used and I am very impressed with it. I will most likely be purchasing it with my own money once it runs out. My bottle is about half ways, so it should last me until the end of this year or so. 2.LORAC Oil Free Luminizer in 'Pearl'
I used this lumizer consistently this month. I admit I had forgotten about it in the past months, but I rediscovered and I can't believe I shad not used it. Although, I also must admit that I have a new highlighting powder which I absolutely love, so this might be slightly forgotten once again.
Primer / Luminizer (I applied waaaay too much product on my hand)
3.Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara
If you have seen any of my EOTDs, you might realize that I have been using this mascara very often. For the price, this is a really great mascara! I am pretty much done with the tube above, and I will be repurchasing it. Check out my review HERE for more details.
4.Stila Smudge Pot in 'Little Black Dress'
This smudge pot was from the Barbie Loves Stila collection. I got this when the collection came out, but I lost it before I ever used it. I had painted my room and removed everything from my room, and this ended up a box which I forgot about and it was left in my garage. I recently found the box and I was angry that this beauty had evaded me for such a long time. This is the closest dupe of MAC Young Punk eyeshadow, but in a cream shadow form. It is a black base with gorgeous purple shimmers. What I love about this, beside the color, is that it is extremely long lasting and waterproof. I wore this to the recent Blink 182 concert, and it stayed put all night (can't say the same thing about my foundation though!). I believe this was LE, but I checked online and saw many places you could purchase it from (eBay, Amazo, ect...) for a relatively decent price.
5.MAC Sheen Supreme in 'Asian Flower'
I absolutely love this shade and I have been wearing it so much since I purchased it. The color is phenomenal, it is moisturizing, and the staying power is quite good for a super moisturizing lipstick (3-5hrs). I adore wearing this lipstick in conjunction with either MAC Young Punk eyeshadow on my eyes, or the Stila Little Black Dress Smudge Pot (as shown above).
With spring and summer just around the corner, have you been looking for a good highlighter to enhance and brighten your complexion?Well, today I bring you two of LORAC's liquid luminizers:
A white pearl and a radiant gold color to add a touch of sunshine to your face!
PROS:
~Oil free
~Free of harmful ingredients [supposedly]
~the bottle contains 0.9 Fl. oz [it will last you forever, seriously]
~Blends easily
~Great to add to foundations
CONS:
~One pump is far too much product, so you waste about 1/3 of what you pup out
[Of course this will vary from person to person, depending on how you use it]
~I find that the gold one dries faster, thus you have to blend quicker, or else it will dry too fast
~$28..kind of pricey
[L to R]: Pearl L1, Gold L2
Pearl, Gold
This is one pump slightly spread. I did not blend it out, because it was too much product, and it would have looked really ugly. I will try and do a FOTD using this, so you guys can see how it looks like as a highlighter.
Also, I use these in my foundation. If I feel like going for a brighter and fresher look, I use Pearl. If I want a more bronze or golden look, I use Gold. Anyways, these are pretty great. I also use MAC Lustre drops, which I love!
But these contain more product and they are more pigmented than the Lustre Drops.
One highlighter that I really want to try out is the Rouge Bunny Rouge one. But its super expensive, I think like $70!!!
Thanks for reading! What is your favorite luminizer/ highlighter?
