Empties #9

1. Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
I believe I have mentioned this product before along with one other PC product. I freaking love this product so much! I have purchased about 4 bottles already and I notice a huge difference when I don't use this. I stopped using this about 3 months ago (I started using a few other skin care products), and I recently noticed that my pores looked really bad. I started using this again a month go, and I immediately noticed that my pores looked cleaner and smaller. This stuff also is great for acne-prone skin and for overall exfoliation. I can't say enough good things about this stuff! I would most definitely purchase this again!!

2. Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water
I bought this small sample size at Sephora a while ago because I was curious about it. If you don't know what micellar water or cleansing water is, it is basically a makeup remover that feels just like water; it is not oily at all. I love Bioderma's micellar water, but I hate that I can only buy it online. I thought this stuff might be a good replacement for Bioderma and I can purchase it at Sephora which is really close to my house. I did really like this one, it worked pretty much the same as the Bioderma one. They both remove makeup really well and have a similar texture! However, I think the Koh Gen Do one is a bit more expensive than Bioderma. I think I will mull it over and see which of the two I prefer to buy...I would repurchase if I did not want to buy Bioderma online.

3. Bath & Body Works Moonlight Path Perfume
Ah this perfume smells so good! This is one of my favorite perfumes and I am sad that I finished it up. I will have to buy another one. This stuff smells so good that I have had three men come up to me and ask me what perfume I'm wearing because they really like it and want to buy it for their girlfriends. I guess this is a scent that both women and men really like because it is not very strong, but still has a nice floral and slightly musky scent. I would definitely repurchase this!

4. L'oreal Lash Out Butterfly Mascara
This mascara was alright. I liked the unique fan-like brush, but the formula left a lot to be desired. I would not repurchase this.

5. L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Excess Mascara
I really do not like this mascara. The brush is okay, but the formula is too clumpy and too moist. This just gave me very clumpy lashes! I would not repurchase.

Thank you for reading!

Empties #8

I haven't had a lot of empties recently, mostly because I have used so many different products. In the month of July, I did use up a few items though!

Empties #7

Greetings from the Dark Side :D

I have some products that I used up in the month of May to show you! I like to see what I have used up and how I feel about those products. So if you want to see some mini reviews for these products, keep reading.

1. Seche Vite Top Coat
This stuff is awesome! I really love how shiny it makes my nails look. I have heard that Seche Vite has ingredients that are bad for you though, so I decided to finish this one up and find another alternative. I would repurchase this but INM Out the Door works just as well and it does not contain the main bad ingredients that Seche Vite does.

2. Julep Cuticle Oil
I've had this stuff for a while now, and I really like it! My favorite thing about it is that it smells like lemongrass. It keeps my cuticles looking really nice too! However, this stuff if expensive. I have since moved on to using No Lift Nails Avocado Cuticle Oil. It smells good, works great, and it much cheaper!

Updated Skin Care Routine

Hello loves!

I've been meaning to post this updated skin care routine for some time now, but I wanted to wait a little longer just to make sure I was sure about all the products I wanted to mention. Skin care is the most hard to discuss subject for me because 1) I have terrible skin and 2) every one has different skin and will react very differently to the same products. Because of this, I find it a challenge to review skin care products or to talk about my skin care routine. Recently, I gained some confidence in this topic because my skin has improved some much in these past couple of months. So, without further adieu, here is my updated skin care routine with some mini reviews for each product :)

November Hits and Misses 2012

December is upon us already! How fast this month has passed!~

I've been trying out a lot of new products this month, so a lot of this month's favorites are older products I use in my daily makeup routine.

First Impression: Paula's Choice Resist BHA 9

Greetings from the Dark Side!

As some of you may know, I have been struggling with my skin for a long time. I have combination skin that can range from very dry and flaky, to somewhat oily, and to extremely acne-prone. What is even more frustrating is that my skin gets used to products very quickly and those products become ineffective to help my skin problems. I have found that rotating my skin care between different products gives me a better result. Because of this, I looked into finding a new skin care product that I could incorporate into my routine.

From a few Youtube gurus I heard about the Paula's Choice Resist BHA 9. I have heard many rave reviews about Paula's Choice skin care so I thought I would give this product a try. I t was convenient that Paula's Choice gives you the option to buy sample sizes of products. I decided to buy two sample sizes of the Resist BHA 9 to see how my skin would react to it.

                                                                 Product's 9 Claims

"RESIST BHA 9 is a first-of-its-kind spot treatment specially formulated to address your most stubborn skin imperfections. The technology behind BHA 9 is indeed unique, allowing for a controlled, sustained release of salicylic acid without diminishing any of its effectiveness.
In fact, you will have enhanced results without dryness or irritation!" -Paula's Choice\

This product claims to:

  • Unclog pores with the first use
  • Diminish white bumps
  • Minimize enlarged pores
  • Smooth wrinkles
  • Minimize sebaceous hyperplasia
  • Smooth and soften dry, rough patches
  • Help balance oily skin
  • Fade red marks from breakouts
  • Reduce breakouts

  •                                                                  My First Impression

After using this product three times in a row at night time, I have noticed a couple of things.

    1. Firstly, within the first use, I noticed that it does in fact "smooth and soften, dry, rough patches" as one of the 9 claims says. I have very dry skin around my cheeks and chin area. I also have dry spots because of breakouts I get. I noticed right away the next day that I didn't have any of those dry patches. This was even more evident when I applied my foundation. Usually within a few hours of having applied foundation, I start to see that those dry patches really stand out.I have not seen that since I started using this product.

    2. The other thing I noticed is a clear "unclogging of pores" and minimization of "enlarged pores". I have very visible pores on my nose, around my nose, and on my chin. I don't know if this products only helps to minimize pores if you keep using it, or if once you stop using it the pores will enlarge again. But, just with three uses, I have noticed a huge difference in my pores. Foundation applies so much smoother over those pores too!

    3. The product is very different from any other skin care product I have ever used. It is not a serum, rather it has an oilier texture. It is difficult to spread on the skin, so I find it easier to pat it on my skin with my fingertips, and then gently massage it in.

    4. One sample size seems to be for about 4-5 uses. I actually already purchased the full size!

I will have to keep an eye out to see how this products continues to work on my skin. I hope this will help with breakouts and scarring!!

Have you used the Resist BHA 9? Or any other Paula's Choice product?
