Swatches + First Impression: Lime Crime d'Antoinette Palette

Greetings from the Dark Side!

If you were not aware, Lime Crime just recently released their second Fantasy Palette, the d'Antoinette palette. I love the ChinaDoll palette, so I knew I wanted to get this one as well, especially because it contained four matte pastel shades (and I don't have many pastel eyeshadows). I just received mine a few hours ago and I wanted to post swatches as quickly as I could. I don' t want to do a formal review just yet, so I will just give you my first impressions :)

The palette, like all of my Lime Crime products, was purchased by me.

First Impression

I am really impressed with the colors. It is so difficult to find pastel shades so I am really glad that LC decided to release a pastel palette. The texture of the shadows is smooth, just like the ChinaDoll eyeshadows.
The shadows are matte, but they have a the faintest satin sheen. Mercurious, the silver, is very sparkly! I like that there is one color that isn't matte because it gives a different texture that can be used in combination with the matte colors.

As far as pigmentation goes, these are nicely pigmented and they are not chalky. Absinthe-Minded, the green, is the most pigmented of the four mattes. The sheerest is Royal Flush, the light pink. Macarooned, the orange  and Ribbonesque, the lilac, were also pigmented, although not as pigmented as Absinthe-Minded. So far, I feel that the ChinaDoll palette is more pigmented than this one.

I have yet to see how these perform on the eyes, but be sure that I will have a proper review after I use the palette more. ^_^

  1. I got this (and China Doll) today, too, but I can't bear to touch them!

  2. I am very impressed with how well those shadows are pigmented; so many times pastels provide only the slightest shadow of color. I think that silver would be wonderful layered underneath one of the matte shadows too, a bold pastel.

    1. Definitely! Pastels tend to be very sheer. These are pigmented for pastels and they build up color nicely!

  3. I get very... skeptical of Lime Crime. Did not like the promo images for China Doll. xP These look awesomely pigmented, though. Sometimes I just feel like every time they do something decent they do something that makes me cringe to go with it.

In any case I am very curious to see how these perform and how you'll use these in a look. =]

  6. Did you get a sample size of the primer with your order? I just bought both of them and I tried out the china doll palette today (love it!)lol but I realized I didn't get the sample that I was looking forward to trying.

    1. I usually do, but I didn't get it with this order. Very odd.
That's too bad! They perhaps run out?

  7. When I first saw this palette I was kinda indifferent to it, thought it looked pretty poor in the pigmentation but after your swatches and your amazing look, I have to admit that I was wrong! It looks awesome!
