Preview: Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection

Hello!

I literally *just* came back form Walgreens and I wanted to share my findings~ I was so giddy to see that the new Fergie collection by Wet n Wild was on a huge display. I am really impressed by the various new products and I am really excited because I love Wet n Wild! I picked up some goodies for me and some to do a Get the Look giveaway with ;) I wanted to swatch everything, but just as I was ready to photograph the swatches my camera's battery died D:<
So, I will settle with just showing you a little preview of the products I purchased.

First Impression: New Maybelline Vivids

Products from 2013 are already popping up in various stores. My recent trip to Walmart ended up in finding various products that are not technically released until January, and yet there they were! One of these finds is the new Maybelline Vivids lip colors. I picked up four of the shades. For my first thoughts on these lip colors stick around :)

Swatches and Comparison: Maybelline Color Tattoo Metal Collection

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I don't think anyone was as excited as me when I heard about a new collection of Maybelline Color Tattoos! I absolutely love Color Tattoos and I own almost all of them. I stalked my local drugstores to look for these, but I had no luck. When I went to Walmart, I was surprised to see a huge display for the new Metal Color Tattoo collection and I bought all five of the new colors. I want to share swatches of all five shades as well as some comparison swatches. Hopefully, this will help you determine whether or not you are interested in buying any of the new colors or skipping out on them.

Here are the five

Tutorial: Artoo Girl

Greetings from the Dark Side ♥

Being super obsessed with both makeup and Star Wars means that those two categories sometimes come together to create some super geeky makeup. I was inspired by my latest acquisition of the Black Milk Artoo Dress and created this R2-D2 makeup to go with my dress. This look is super fun and I loved it! It is perfect for parties and for comic/anime/geeky conventions ^_^ If you want to know how I created this look, then stick around and let your inner geek jump with glee at the sight of this!

Updated Skin Care Routine

Hello loves!

I've been meaning to post this updated skin care routine for some time now, but I wanted to wait a little longer just to make sure I was sure about all the products I wanted to mention. Skin care is the most hard to discuss subject for me because 1) I have terrible skin and 2) every one has different skin and will react very differently to the same products. Because of this, I find it a challenge to review skin care products or to talk about my skin care routine. Recently, I gained some confidence in this topic because my skin has improved some much in these past couple of months. So, without further adieu, here is my updated skin care routine with some mini reviews for each product :)

First Impression: Anastasia HyperColor Brow & Hair Powders

Greetings from the Dark Side :)

As you may have noticed, I love bright hair colors! If I could I would want ALL of my hair to be a lavender color. But alas, my hair is very dark and I would inevitably ruin my hair with all the bleaching I would have to do to get my hair to be almost white.

I am not the only one who does not like to bleach my hair (even though I still do!), and so many others who seek to have bright hair colors use alternative methods of hair color. One of those methods is hair chalk. The brand Anastasia Beverly Hills has released something similar to hair chalk called HyperColor. They say that unlike hair chalk, HyperColor "is ultra-pigmented, safe for cosmetic use on brows and eyes, and won't dry your hair out". These are wipe-on hair colors that wash off safely and easily from the hair so it is ideal for people who don't want to commit to semi-permanent hair colors.

I wanted to test these out to see how they work. I have both my natural dark brown hair and bleached hair to work with, so I have the advantage to testing how these work on dark versus light colored hair. Let use see how they did!

Tutorial: Red Velvet and Icing

 Happy Holidays Dark Siders :)

It is so very close to Christmas and I just realized it! It is time to get out your glamorous outfit and put together a kickass holiday makeup look. I created this look using neutral eyeshadows, a pop of white on the eyes, and a glam matte red lip. To make this even more glam, I added a red crystal on the corner of the eye. You can wear this for Christmas or New Years, or for any event you choose. Hope you like it!

FOTD: Minimalist Holiday Look (Ft. Armani Holiday Palette)

Hi hi!!

Holiday season is upon us! And everyone is scrambling to find outfits and makeup looks to wear for the holiday parties. I love to play around with gold, red, and wine colors, but not everyone likes to wear bold eyeshadows, even during the holidays. I created this very easy, neutral, minimal look perfect for many occasions. I wear this to work or work-related events, and so I wore it to my office holiday party just recently. It gave me a perfect opportunity to share the Armani Holiday 2012 Palette as well.

Products Used
-MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot
-Armani Holiday 2012 Palette #1
-L'real Voluminous Eyeliner Pen
-Prestige My Biggest Lashes mascara
-Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup #4
-MAC 'Eversun' Blush

For this look, I used the lighter of the two eyeshadows on the lid and the darker on the crease and lower lash line. I used the neutral-colored lip wax for a nude lip.

Christmas Haul: Lime Crime!

Another Lime Crime Haul you say?

Yes! I could not resist buying some more of their new products. Lime Crime is one of my favorite brands and I have been using them for about two years now.Because of that, I was tempted to get the limited edition hand mirror. I LOVE hand mirrors with handles and I am quite the Lime Crime collector, so I had to get it. If you want to see my haul, then stick around :)

1. Limited Edition Fairy Tale Mirror
There is not much to say about this. It's a mirror and it is freaking cute. It is not the most well-made mirror, but it is sturdy and detailed. I mostly want this for collecting purposes so I won't be using it much.

Tutorial: Ice Princess

Greetings from the Dark Side :)
A huge welcome to any new readers and a big thank you to all of my followers who continue to read my posts ♥

Today I have a wonderfully glam winter look using blue and silver eyeshadows. This is the perfect way to use color on your eyes for a winter party or just to reflect the icyness of the colder months. Blue is not the most wearable shade for most people, but I think this is not super overwhelming and it still has a soft effect on the eyes. If you want to recreate this Ice Princess look, stick around~!

Also, I will be having a "Get the Look" giveaway tomorrow for this look. So, you will have the chance to win most of the products I used to achieve this look! :D

Review

I was pleasantly surprised by the pigmentation of these eyeshadows. They are all either shimmery or metallic, so matte-lovers beware! But, for those of you who love shine and sparkle, well then this should be a product to consider. Most of the colors are very pigmented and go on as pigmented as they swatch. The two greens and the blue are particularly gorgeous!

Two things that I did not like about this product are the texture and the smell. The shadows have a talc smell that I really do not like. Obviously, you won't smell them when you apply it on your eyes, but just opening the palette is awful because I can smell it! The texture of these is both good and bad. They feel very buttery rather than powdery which is good since it makes them more pigmented. But, this texture also makes it difficult to blend the eyeshadows, so you will have to work a little harder to blend these really good.

The blushes are...meh. They are okay, but somewhat powdery. They are nothing too special in my opinion.

Overall, I really like the colors and the pigmentation of the colors. Would I purchase this with my own money? Well the price is not bad at all, and it is actually quite a bargain for the colors. Be wary of the smell and the possibility that you might have trouble blending the eyeshadows.

Rating: 7.5/10

*Product shown was sent for consideration and review. All opinions stated are my own.

Review: Solone Gel Like Smoody Pencil 'Red Wine'

Greetings from the Dark Side :)

Have any of you ever tried the brand Salone? This is my first time ever trying the brand. I tried an eyeliner pencil called "Gel Like Smoody Pencil" that is supposed to be water proof and fast-drying. If you want to know my experience with this product, stick around :D

The Legend of Zelda Series: Princess Ruto

Greetings from the Dark Side!~

If you ever played Ocarina of Time, you will remember the annoying Zora princess! When she is younger and as Link you try to rescue her from Jabu-Jabu's belly, she is the biggest brat ever! She makes you carry her and she is bossy ARGH! But besides that, I always thought that Ruto and the rest of the Zora looked really cool!

This look was inspired by the blue shades of her skin, but I wanted to make the look a bit more wearable and girly to reflect her personality. I added some pretty blue gems to represent her earrings and the by the Zora's Sapphire.

Black Friday Haul: Giorgio Armani, Chanel, Deborah Lippmann

Greetings earthlings! (Yes, I like to pretend that I am an alien 0_o")

Let me continue my incessant hauling with a high end makeup haul! I hardly buy high end department store makeup because they are expensive as hell, but once in a while I like to look around and see what interests me. I was lucky to have a Neiman Marcus gift card so I splurged on a big Giorgio Armani, Chanel, and Lippmann haul. Armani makeup is fantastic, but usually too expensive for my liking. I only owned one Armani product before this (Eyes To Kill Eyeshadow), but I would say that I greatly expanded into more Armani products~

*Something that I am not showing in this haul is a gift with purchase that was included in my order from Armani that has various samples of makeup and skin care.

1. Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup #4
Yes! I got sucked into the hype of this new fluid makeup. It was quite pricey, but it seems like a really great everyday base for the skin. It doesn't have amazing coverage, but it looks so natural and looks like SKIN. I choose the color #4, but  I probably could have gone with #3. The color blends in very well into the skin though, so it is not a big deal. And as you can see from the pictures below, it is such a different "foundation" since it is oil-based and comes with a dropper dispenser.

Update: Upcoming Posts and Finals

Hello all of you lovelies!  I hope you had a better Monday than me!

I want to write this quick update because I might not be very active on my blog for the next week. This is the last week of my Uni's Fall quarter, and I have four 10 page papers to write by the beginning of this Thursday. Not just that, but I have finals starting at the beginning of next week. It could not be the worst timing! The Skyrim Dragonborn DLC is coming out! But oh well. Work first, play later. I really want to get my work done before posting anything. I just finished my very first paper a couple of minutes ago. My second paper is actually on Harry Potter, so that is going to be so fun to write!

This doesn't mean I won't be posting anything, but I will have to be very meticulous with my time. I have tons of things that I want to post and so little time to do it! So far, my schedule only allows me one post from now until the end of Thursday, so I want you to help me out a bit. I have a few posts in mind so let me know what it is that you want to see ;) Some possible posts are:

1.  Updated Skin Care Routine (products and mini reviews)

2. Legend of Zelda Series: Princess Ruto (look and tutorial)

3. Shiro Wednesday ( a look using Shiro Cosmetics)

4. Armani/Chanel Haul

5. Return of the Look: Wakka/Lulu Look

So there you go! Let me know in the comments what post you want to see the most. If you want something other than what is above, you are free to request that as well :) Thank you so much for being patient and totally awesome! If any of you are also in school, I wish you luck with any assignments and/or finals!

November Hits and Misses 2012

December is upon us already! How fast this month has passed!~

I've been trying out a lot of new products this month, so a lot of this month's favorites are older products I use in my daily makeup routine.

Black Friday Haul: Lime Crime

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I am not a huge fan of Black Friday. I don't know about all of you, but it seems just like a huge hassle. I was glad that many companies have online deals for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and I took advantage of the great discounts to get some new things. Lime Crime had a 30% off sale for Black Friday and they had just released some new products as well (that were not on sale). I literally JUST got this in the mail about an hour ago, and I am just so exited to share this haul with all of you! If you want to see what I bought, stick around :)

1. Velvetine in 'Red Velvet'
This is a new range of velvet lip colors! They are long-lasting matte colors that seems perfect for holiday parties. I love the packaging! Very Christmas-y! As of right now there are only two shades, but maybe there will be more? I chose Red Velvet, the deeper red of the two. The color is very gorgeous!

FOTD: Sparkle and Color

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Lately, I have been in between using a lot of color or sticking to really neutral looks. Today's look is definitely very fun and colorful.
Firstly, I parted my hair differently in a way that shows off most of my lavender colored hair. No I did not die it more. It is just shown more this way.
Secondly, I used some Lime Crime products (Alchemy Palette and D'Lilac Lipstick) to get even more color on my eyes and lips. The eye makeup was inspired by a picture that Rose Shock posted on her FB page~
Lastly, I used the Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity 'Pure Opal' to add some beautiful sparkle and shine to my eye look :) Hope you like it!

Here is the look without the sparkle and with my glasses~

FOTD: OCC 'Beta' and 'Starling' Lip Tars

Greetings from the Dark Side~

If you have been reading my most recent posts, you might see that I have hauled quite a number of new products. And I haven't even shown you my Black Friday/Cyber Monday hauls yet (I want to wait until I get ALL of my purchases before I blog about them). Because of all that, I have many new products to try and to review. I was the most excited about trying out the OCC Lip Tars, so I want to show you how I used both of the colors I purchased: Beta and Starling.

I kept the eye makeup very neutral and quite simple. I am wearing colors from the Wet n Wild 'Vanity' Palette, liquid liner, and mascara.

Shiro Wednesdays: Chimera

Happy Wednesday everyone! How are you enjoying this week?

As I mentioned before, I want to dedicate Wednesdays to Shiro Cosmetics because, well...they are just awesome! I have a lot of Shiro eyeshadows so it seems only right to share how I use them!

Today's look is inspired by the Shiro eyeshadow in 'Chimera' from the Full Metal Alchemist collection. FMA is one of my all-time favorite anime and this eyeshadow brought back a lot of memories. Very sad ones...Poor Nina! If you have watched it you know what I mean. Seriously...saddest moment ever. So I want to dedicate this to Nina's Chimera form~

First Impression: Illamasqua Mystery Box

Greetings!

As many of you wanted to see a post on the Illamasqua Mystery Box, I decided to go ahead and do a First Impression post about it. This box is available on Sephora for $60. It comes with 10 full sized products, including Fable Lipstick and Jo'mina nail varnish. The other 8 products are random. Although you will know that you will get 1 cream blush, one more lipstick, one liquid metal, one cream eyeshadow, two medium pencils, one sheer lip gloss, and one intense lip gloss.

This is such an amazing deal! Although, I was afraid to get it because I already own numerous Illamasqua products and I didn't want to get repeats. I did end up with one repeat, the Enrapture Liquid Metal. I will be giving this away, but more on that later~

Here is my box and what I received in the Mystery Selection.

Haul: Sephora VIB Sale

Hello everyone~

Every year I look forward to the Sephora VIB 20% off sale. I wasn't expecting to buy anything this year, but I received a gift card to Sephora for my 21st birthday this year so I took advantage of that :)
I didn't go too crazy, but I did pick up a couple of things.

1. Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Opal
I am sad to see that Tarina Tarantino is being taken off Sephora. I liked the products and I thought the packaging was so cute. I took advantage of this sale to pick up one last product from the line. This is a sparkly dust in an opal white color. I am  not sure how I will use this yet, but it is really pretty!

Anime FOTD: Konan

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Something that you probably already know about me is that I am a huge geek. Yup. I love sci-fi and fantasy, but I am also a huge fan of anime and manga. I spent this weekend re-watching a lot of anime, but in particular I was re-reading some chapters from the Naruto manga. Whether you like Naruto or not is up to you. I, though am a huge fan of the manga and have been following it for 9 years! It seems crazy to realize it has been that long. One of my favorite characters from the series is Konan.
I think she looks totally badass and she was just a really cool character. I was inspired by her overall look and created a simple look for myself. In the anime, she has a purple eyeshadow and very defined outer lashes. In the anime, she has a much softer look, which is the look that inspired me the most.

Review: Pumpkin & Poppy 'Lady of Light' Cream Highlighter

Greetings from the Dark Side!

What is your stance on face highlighters? I can honestly say that I only started to use highlighters about a year ago. Before then, I did not understand what all the fuss about highlighting the face was. Then I discovered some amazing highlighters, in particular the Estee Lauder Modern Mercury highlighter that was highly raved about. After that, I was bombarded with an array of highlighters and it was hard to only pick one! I have acquired a few more highlighters since then, my most recent being the Pumpkin & Poppy 'Lady of Light' cream highlighter from the One Ring collection.  If you are interested in knowing more about this indie and vegan face illuminator, then stick around!
