FOTD: Morticia Addams

Hello darlings!

In the spirit of Halloween and spooky October, I want to share my Morticia Addams inspired look :D I have wanted to recreate a makeup look from a particular picture of Morticia Addams, and I am quite satisfied with my own rendition of it. I shared this look on my Facebook page, but I thought I should also share it here on my blog. It was quite a dramatic look for everyday, but I don't really care; I'm just awesome that way! Anyways, I hope you like it :)

Products Used
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Lime Crime 'Chinadoll' Palette (Lotus Noir black eyeshadow)
-Milani Liquif'Eye black pencil eyeliner
-Sugarpill 'Tako' Eyeshadow
-Illamasqua 'Ore' Pure Pigment
-Prestige My Biggest Lashes Mascara
-Ardell 'Wispies' Lashes

-Lioele Super Gold Snail BB Cream
-White Cream Makeup (mixed with the BB cream)
-NYX 'Snow White' Lipstick

Morticia Addams Look

This look is basically a black smokey eye, but the black in only concentrated on the outer half of the eye and the lower lash line. The inner half of the lid is a wash of a white/cream matte eyeshadow, with a touch of a golden bronze on the lashline and blended into the black. I also applied some of the same white eyeshadow on my brow bone. It is difficult to see from my picture, sorry! :/

I used the Lime Crime 'Lotus Noir' black eyeshadow as my main color for this look. I used it on my eyes for the black smokey color, on my eyebrows, and to contour my face ever so slightly. I loved how this look resulted. It is bold and very sultry!

This is not my image. I found it through Google images.

Last Minute Halloween Look: Psycho Anime Girl

Hello lovely followers!
I want to take some time to welcome any new followers :D Thank you for joining the Dark Side!

Halloween is literally a few days away! Are all of you planning to dress up? Here is another easy, last minute Halloween look you can do. Do  you have an old wig, maybe even some circle lenses? Then you can do a bloody/pyscho look! This isn't a complete psychopathic look; it is still cute and anime-like. This look would look much better with colored lenses or circle lenses to really make it look like an anime character, but my eyes are a little sensitive lately and I don't want to wear any lenses right now.

Tutorial: Wicked Alchemy (Ft. Lime Crime)

Greetings from the Dark Side :)

Following up on my haul post for the Lime Crime Alchemy collection, I wanted to share with you my first look using the Alchemy palette and Poisonberry Lipstick! This is the very first time I use any of the products so I am still playing around with how to use these colors :) On a side note, this look just reminds me of Maleficent! Doesn't it?

                    Products Used

-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Lime Crime Alchemy Palette
-Lime Crime Poisonberry Lipstick
-Milani Liquif'Eye black eyeliner
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes
-Ardell Lashes

                        Tutorial

1. Start off by priming you eye with the Eyeshadow Helper.

2. With a flat brush, apply Lucky Charm from the Alchemy Palette, or any other vibrant green you own.

3. With a small brush, apply Divination, or any teal you have, on the crease.

 4. With a fluffy brush, apply Love Potion No.9, an iridescent purple with a green sheen, over the blue and blend it.

5. With a large brush, apply Spellbound, a shimmery off-white, on the brow bone and blend it into the purple.

6. Apply Spellbound on the inner corner as well.

7. Apply a black eyeliner on the waterline.

8. With an angled brush, apply Divination on the lower lash line, connecting it to the Divination that was applied on the crease.

 9. Apply mascara, liner and lashes :)
               You are DONE!~

                     Finished Look

Don't forget to apply Poisonberry on your lips for an enchanting look!

What do you think of the collection from this look? I personally just love everything right now! I am still playing around with the colors, but I can say that I already adore Poisonberry. The pictures do it no justice! In person, it looks so amazing. It is a dark grape purple, but it shifts colors slightly depending on the light :D

First Impression: Lioele Super Gold Snail BB Cream

Ah, BB creams! Aren't they truly amazing? I got hooked on BB creams about a year and a half ago, and I have not looked back ever since. It is notable that western brands are now releasing their own BB creams, which honestly do not even begin to compare to Asian BB creams. In the spirit of celebrating the awesomeness that is BB creams, I want to share my thoughts on this recently aquiredone, the Lioele Super Gold Snail BB cream!

I am not even going to pretend that I know what the whole "snail bb cream" thing is all about, but I've seen a lot of Asian brands come out with "snail this-or-that" products. It is the new craze in the BB cream world, and it is quite frankly really intriguing and just a little gross.

The gist of it is that this BB cream contains snail secretion filtrate, which is supposed to be very moisturizing and act as a protective layer on the skin to retain moisture. Whether it actually does that, I can't really say just yet.

Shiro Wednesdays: Oxblood Lips

Hello fellow makeup enthusiasts!

I want to dedicate Wednesdays to showcasing my Shiro Cosmetics eyeshadows. I have a lot of Shiro eyeshadows that I haven't had the chance to show you. But if I dedicate Wednesdays to SC, I will be more motivated to use my eyeshadows in different ways.

This look focus on my lips and I wanted to wear something on my eyes that wouldn't overpower the lips. You can't really see too much of the eyes *_* sorry about that. But it is a subtle shimmery eye.

Products Used
-ELF Eyelid Primer
-Shiro Cosmetics 'Moon Prism Power' (all over lid)
-Shiro Cosmetic 'Rag Doll' (crease and lower lash line)
-L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes

-YSL Teint Resist Foundation #03
-Wet n Wild 'Sugar Plum Fairy ' Lipstick

First Impression: Lioele Secret Pore Rich Balm

Hello lovelies~

How do you feel about First Impression posts? I thought it would be fun to post my thoughts on products after only using them one time. Today I want to share my thoughts on the Lioele Secret Pore Rich Balm. This is a primer of sorts; a balm that is supposed to help to make pores look smaller and less prominent.

Regal Rose 'Darkly Decedent' Collection

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I am not the most jewelry-loving person in the world, but I appreciate unique and edgy pieces. Regal Rose has impressed me so much with their beautiful and rocker-chic jewelry, and I have fallen in love with a ring and a pair of earrings I purchased a couple months ago. I am very excited for their upcoming Fall collection! Check their website and Facebook for more updates on this upcoming collection!

Disney Villains Series: Ursula

Greeting from the Dark Side!

This was a quick look inspired by the Disney villain from The Little Mermaid, Ursula. Despite being an evil sea witch, she still looks very glam! She is really kickass, and I remember being scared of her when I was a small girl.
This look is a more "subdued" version on her makeup. When I say subdued, I mean that I am not going as extreme at I could have. Ursula has very purple skin and very large eyelids. Most people would have painted their face purple and would have covered their eyebrows to draw in thinner eyebrows that go much higher up on the forehead. But I want this to stay simpler, glam, and somewhat more feminine. This would be a perfect look to wear to a Halloween/dress up party. Pair this look with a long, strapless black dress, Ursula's purple earrings, her shell necklace, and maybe a white wig.

Spotted: Revlon Shanghai Collection

Greetings from the Dark Side!

The other day, I went to both Rite Aid and Walgreens, and I have spotted in both drugstores the new Revlon Shanghai collection by Gucci Westman for Fall 2012. I picked up a few items from the collections and picked up something to giveaway as well. I just want to give you all a heads up in case you are interested in this collection. Here is what I personally hauled (Rite Aid was having a BOGO 50% off sale so I bought more than I expected):

I bought: the three lipsticks, the cream eyeshadow palette, one nail polish, and the nail art stencils.

I will have some reviews/looks using these products, but for the time being I will leave you with the knowledge of what I purchased.

Last Minute Halloween Look: Vampire Bride

Greetings from the Dark Side!!

Halloween is quickly creeping up on us and along with that, the desperation to find a costume. I love Halloween, but in the last two years, I haven't been dressing up. This is usually because I can't find a costume I like, or I end up not wanting to spend money on one. But sometimes you end up wanting to go to a costume part and need a last minute costume. As a part of a Halloween contest by The Powder Room, I quickly created this Vampire Bride look. It is so easy to do, it requires minimal products, and you can use this with a black dress and a veil to create a last minute costume.

I used all products that I had on hand, and I am sure you can create this just as easily!

Review: Glamour Doll Eyes

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I have a review for Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows today~ I've been waiting for a while because I was still trying the eyeshadows out. There is one thing that really stands out for me is their artwork. I love the animated-looking images that they use for their packaging and promotion. It is really cute! Loot at the cute packaging:

Tutorial: Love's Obstacle (Ft. Shiro Cosmetics)

Happy October ;) It is officially 12 days before Halloween!
I am super excited for that! I don't know if I am even dressing up, but I'm sure I will do some crazy makeup either ways.

Today I have a special look to share with all of you; it is a look using the new Shiro Cosmetics Halloween products :D This mini collection was inspired not only by Halloween, but by one of my favorite Disney movies ever, The Nightmare Before Christmas! I was so excited when this collection was released, that I immediately purchased it. I hope this tutorial is helpful and I hope you like it!

I named this look "Love's Obstacle' because I always felt that Doctor Finkelstein was an obstacle for Sally in order to get closer to Jack. The name will make more sense when you see what products I used and who they were inspired by :)

All About My Bright Hair Color (Long Post!)

I have received many request in the past weeks for me to do a post about my colorful hair. I get so many questions about what products I use, maintenance, and just my overall experience with bright hair colors. Here, I will try to be as thorough as I can. I think to get the best idea of the products I use, it is easier for me to start from the very beginning.

BLEACHING
The first time I decided to have bright hair was when I was in high school, but that was a long time ago and I already forgot what products I had first used. My desire for purple hair resurfaced in the beginning of this past spring. I have naturally very dark hair and of course I had to bleach it first before I could even think of having my hair purple. There are many different bleach options, but I went for the Jerome Russell Punky Colors Bleach Kit (shown below). This is a great, easy to use bleach for beginners. It is only a one time use though, but it has everything you need to bleach your hair. I like it because I am such a noob with bleach and it is hard to mess up with this kit. This bleach turns my dark hair into a pale yellow (it still has some orange tones to it though) withing about 25-30 min. This is the only bleach I have used, and for the time being, I will stick to this one.

Unbound Fridays: Salem Witch Trials

Happy October!!

October is my ultimate favorite month of the year because it is just awesome. I love the weather (although it is still super hot here in California at the moment),  Halloween, spiced lattes, pumpkin pies, the yellowing leaves, and of course it is also my birthday in October. Ah! Such a sweet month!

October is also in Fall, and that means the release of Fall collections! And just recently Unbound Eden Cosmetics released four new fall eyeshadows and lipsticks. I *just* received some and I wanted to play around with the new products so I present you a Fall inspired look. Fall obviously reminds me of Halloween, and that reminds me of witches and ghouls. This look just screamed witch to me. Not your old hag type of witch but a colonial witch that might have been persecuted in the Salem Witch Trials. Or maybe I am just crazy and my mind just thinks weird things xD Anyways...moving on...here is the look!

FOTD: Maleficent Day Villain Look

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Do you remember my ELF Disney Villains Palette haul? And what about the Night time look using the Maleficent palette? Well if you don't remember, then totally check those out! For those of you who are still interested in seeing how I am using those palettes, then I have the day time look using the Maleficent palette. I am featuring the Maleficent palette first because she is my favorite villain and Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite Disney movies.

This look is for the most part demure; there is some color, but it is quite subtle and great for day time wear! And I'm not going to lie, besides the color Sceptre, the eyeshadows in this palette are not very pigmented. But that makes them great for very subtle looks.

FOTD: Iced Martini

Hey guys!

Here is a pretty simple eye look using the Maybelline 'Olive Martini' eyeshadow quad and Unbound Eden Cosmetics 'Frost Salts' eyeshadow. This is a subtle "icy" look perfect for the winter time!

I look really grumpy..hehe. Sorry about that. I've been really sleepy and tired this past week and I can't even show some enthusiasm!

Diablo III Series: Wizard

Greetings from the Dark Side~

I want to continue the Diablo III series with a look inspired by the Wizard character. In the art work, the female Wizard looks really awesome. Not only am I fond of mages and wizards in many video games I play, but I really liked the sassy, independent, but caring attitude of the Wizard character. She was really badass!

The specific art work that I chose is actually from the Diablo 3 guidebook. I really love how they represented her; I like her outfit and the colors that were used for her clothes as well as her magic attack.

OOTD: Maroon Jeggings and Spiked Litas

Hello :)

Here is a very rare OOTD from me. I am not huge on fashion, mostly because I am not good at putting outfits together. And for the most part, I like to wear band tees and rcoker-ish clothes. But since I haven't done an OOTD in so long, I thought I would share some badly taken photos :D I also wanted to show you guys how I wore my brand new Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Litas. Thes are by far the most expensive shoes I have ever purchased. I have never spent more than $60 on shoes, so these were quite a splurge. They were a small treat to myself now that I started my last year of University. I will make some other outfits with these. I understand if paying almost $200 for these, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives.

I purchased these in a size 7.5 from Urban Outfitters. I am usually a 7.5/8 and the 7.5 fits perfectly. They are quite comfortable, as other people have mentioned.
