Review: Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color N #18 Bird Flutter

Jill Stuart~ How I love thee! The packaging, the colors, the sparkle! Alas, how unfortunate! The price can be too much to bare :(

But regardless, I am, excited because I finally picked up my first Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color. I have been swooning over these for a LONG time, but I decided to take the plunge and get #18 Bird Flutter, which is a limited edition color for the Jill Stuart Spring 2012 collection called Bare Petal. I wish I could have purchased the blush and/or the eyeshadow palette from this collection, but it is too pricey for me right now so I decided to stick to this one item.

Price and Availability
This is limited edition! I purchased mine ay YESSTYLE for $35.

Description of Product
The Jelly Eye Color N are jelly-like eyeshadows that although can have a good pigmentation, serve mostly for a high shimmer and shine look. They comes in a gorgeous glass pot with a beautiful silver screw top lid. Bird Flutter is a bright coral with pink shimmer. It is a perfect color for spring and summer.
Review
I honestly didn't know what to think of these before I actually received my product. I have tried the Love Alpha Frozen Jellies and the Chanel Illusion D'Hombre eyeshadows. If I could compare these to one of those two it would definitely be closer to the Chanel one. These are bouncy, but not liquidy or sticky. I thought this was going to be very sheer, with mostly sparkle. But the pigmentation is actually quite nice! And the sparkles are goooorgeous xD The color is simply stunning as well!
'So what are the negative points of this product?' you might be asking. Honestly, the product itself is amazing. It didn't crease on my eye nor was it difficult to apply. I use my fingers to apply this and it blends smoothly without any problems. The only negatives I can think of are quite obvious: the price and the availability of Jill Stuart in the US. Not only is it difficult to find JS, but if you find it online it is usually even more expensive than retain price. I really want JS to be available in more countries D:< Although I absolutely love this, I am very hesitant to purchase more because of the high price. Albeit, Chanel Illusion D'Hombre eyeshadows are pricey as well, but in that case I don't have to worry about ridiculously expensive shipping prices.

EOTD
All I am wearing is a sheer coat of Bird Flutter, mascara, and the KKCenterhk ES A533 Lashes (which are fluttery-looking to me).
I probably should have been wearing liquid liner...oops. My bad.

Verdict
I am very impressed with this eyeshadow! The packaging is beyond cute but the product itself is actually really amazing as well. I am even more curious about the other colors in the Jelly Eye Color N range~! But the price is a huge brick wall that I am not sure I can jump over. Buying this color was like a inner war. I debated with myself, but eventually my insane makeup-loving impulses won. The only way for me to justify the price would be to cut back any other spending in makeup and to solely save up for those. I am really not sure yet, but I am definitely going to get some use out of #18 Bird Flutter this spring and summer!

    1. I wouldn't say it is a duochrome, but the pink shimmer is very prevalent. It almost does look like it because when the light hits the shimmer, the pink really shines through ^_^

  14. I'm a huge Jill Stuart fan. I have a few of their eyeshadow quads and a few nail polishes and adore them. Their packaging is to die for!! Even though they are super expensive I know I'll add to my collection. xoxo

  16. I love how this colour wears, I thought the shimmers would be overwhelming but it's very pretty. Though I am still very much scared away by the JS prices!

  17. I'm a massive JS fan - I own way too many eye shadows, a blush, several glosses, and have more eye jellys than I can possibly wear! They are expensive, but they are so lovely. I also got 'bird flutter' as I really wanted a peachy-coral colour. I definitely recommend you try more! My favourite is probably the gold colour 02: gold light. I have been dying to try vintage deco and antique chiffon... ahh.. renewing my addiction >_<
