Review: Pumpkin & Poppy 'Lockbearer' and 'My Precious' Cream Eyeshadows

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I am completely obsessed with the Pumpkin & Poppy One Ring collection, so I want to share with you the two cream eyeshadows from the collection, 'Lockbearer' and 'My Precious'.

                                                                       Price and Availability
$8 for each product or $58 for the entire collection.
You can find these products on the P&P artfire store.

Each cream eyeshadow is pakaged in a small, slim compact that comes with its own mirror! How convenient is that?

Lockbearer: copper/bronze in a metallic finish. Inspired by Gimli, the lovable dwarf!

My Precious: an antique, metallic gold. Inspired by the One Ring. I love the name. Can't say it without thinking of Gollum's voice.."My preciouuuuus"~

Below, I have swatches of both of these cream eyeshadows along with two other products from the One Ring collection, Evenstar lipstick and Lady of Light highlighter.
You can see that both cream eyeshadows are very nicely pigmented!

As you can hopefully see from the photos of the swatches, these cream eyeshadows are very nicely pigmented and have a pretty amazing texture. They apply very easily, and blend quite easily as well. Not only do they work really well on their own, but they also work well with other eyeshadows. The texture of these cream eyeshadows is more "dry" than most other cream eyeshadowsm, which seems to be better since the colors won't slip and move around too much on the eye lid.

Although these are drier and less prone to creasing, they still can crease. I find that to avoid creasing you should definitely wear a primer underneath, blend these very well, and if all else fails, set it with a powder eyeshadow or translucent powder. I mostly notice creasing when I wear this all day long and when I don't wear a primer underneath. It is still important to note because I know many people want their products to be able to stand alone.

Overall, I really love these two products because of the color payoff, the drier texture, and the source of the inspiration!

Rating: 9/10
(-1 point for creasing)

  1. I looove the way these look! I wish they didn't crease, but I'll still probably try them since the colors are just so pretty & unique.

  2. Do they make good bases? That is the most difficult item to find that is a good and vegan

    1. They do~ They remind me a little of the Maybelline Color Tattoos. They work good on their own and as bases. And actually, they function better as bases since they can crease a little bit when worn alone.
