Hello again!~
I wanted to quickly show you what I purchased from the Sephora Friends and Family sale. I was surprised that I only purchased two things, but I was very proud that I didn't buy any more stuff. I also wanted to share with you some of my recent YSL regrets. I purchased two products which I returned because I disliked them.
From the Sephora F&F sale I purchased:
-Tokidoki Pittura Brush Set: 24K Edition ($42)
I was in a need for a new foundation, since my Skin79 BB cream is almost out. I have wanted to try this foundation for some time, but the price was really staggering. With the 20%, it came out to be $11 cheaper. I got it in shade 03, but I think I should have gone with shade 02. The undertone of 03 is a little too pink for my skin tone. Either ways, it isn't a big deal because the foundation is kind of sheer so the color blends in with your natural skin tone really well. I find that I have to use about 3 pumps of the foundation because it is a rather sheer foundation, but also one pump is a really small amount. Although this is a light to medium coverage foundation, it actually covers redness and imperfections really nicely. I love the finish of this foundation and of how simply lightweight it feels on the skin. It is also has a REALLY nice scent of roses. Overall I am happy with the foundation at the moment. And the only thing I have to complain about is their limited selection of shades :(
YSL FAILS
-YSL Rouge Volupte Pearl #108 Celestial Mauve ($34)
I really wanted to love this. I really did. I own another Rouge Volupte and I thought since I love that one, I should love this one too, right? Especially because it is such a beautiful shimmering mauve-pink color! So I loved the color, but the formula was horrid. Every time I applied it to my lips, it looked gross. It dried out my lips so badly, so my lips looked like a chapped mess. At $34, I was definitely not going to settle for anything that made my lips dry and gross looking. I returned it and I will be wary of any of the Rouge Volupte Pearl lipsticks.

From the Sephora F&F sale I purchased:
-Tokidoki Pittura Brush Set: 24K Edition ($42)
I love Tokidoki brushes because they are good quality and they are also super cute. They are usually reasonably priced as well. This set was more expensive than the original brush set, so I thought taking advantage of the 20% would be the best option. So far I love the brushes and I have made good use of all the brushes already. I will have a review once I have used them more. All I can say for now is that the brushes are really soft! The charms at the end are really cute, but they can be a little annoying since they made noises every time you use a brush. But you can always detach the charms.
-YSL Teint Resist Foundation ($55)

Those brushes are too cute! And damn about the YSL fails.. I would think YSL products were really good..
ReplyDeleteThe Tokidoki brushes are super cute! :D
ReplyDeleteYikes. I've only tried a few of YSL lippies and all were good. :/
ReplyDelete@D.Sadie: I do love YSL as a brand, but you know there is always a couple of things that either are crappy quality of just don't work for some people.
ReplyDelete@LauraLeia: They are super cute :P One of the reasons I bought them ;)
@JC: Yeah, maybe the formula didn't work well with my lips. My other YSL lippie works great.
I have a YSL lippie and find it so creamy that it slides all over the place dangerously! And I'd had a look at that blush, interesting to hear how it appears on the cheek! Those brushes look amazing though, I wish Australia had a Sephora.
ReplyDeleteThe brushes are super cute!
ReplyDeletethat lipstick looks amaze balls !!!
ReplyDelete@Mimi: ;D
ReplyDelete@CottonCandyINK: Too bad it didn't look good on my lips T_T
The blush looks amazing on the pan. Sad to know it doesn't turn out as purple :(

ReplyDeleteThat brush set it super duper cute!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about spending a lot on something and then it turning out to be not what you wanted. Have you tried the La Femme blushes though? They're so good and only $3-4 each.
Aaawww I've always wanted to get some Tokidoki for Sephora things but it's only available in the USA, isnt it ?? I'm a huge tokidoki fan =( !!

I love this haul! I really like the YSL foundations that I have too- I agree that the finish is great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity that the YSL pearl lipstick chapped your lips! It's a gorgeous shade though.
We have the same taste! New follower here :) I almost bought that YSL blush, too, but I saw how pink it was and I was so bummed.
