I hope you guys are doing great! I finally settled in today, and I actually have time to do a few things I have been meaning to do for a while. One of those things is to update you all on my makeup ban and my P20P.
Makeup Ban
It has been about a month since I started my ban, and it has been going very well. If I said I had not purchased anything, I would be lying. I mentioned before that I bought two Revlon lipglosses, but I purchased them with a gift card so I didn't count them. Other than that, I haven't purchased anything makeup up related! I am so proud of myself, honestly. I will be continuing this makeup ban. But I think I will give myself a little break and purchase one thing for myself for Christmas.
I also mentioned that I might set up a goal for myself every week, and if I complete it, I would put $5 in a "makeup-buying fund." I did that, but I haven't been doing super good. I managed to complete two of my goals, which were to drink more water and to not get on elevators. So far I have $10 in my makeup fund. Very sad. I am thinking that I will update my makeup ban every month. I am very motivated to keep this going. I feel very good about actually using my makeup, and I hope this will motivate some of you to do the same~
Project 20 Pan - Completed!
Yes, I have completed my P20P! I am very happy~ Here is what I finished up and also a mini review on each product.
Skin Care
1. Artistry Night Recovery Creme
I was using this a night time cream but I think it was a little too heavy for all over my face. I have combo skin, so it was probably better for only the driest parts of my skin. I think this is better for older women looking for a good anti-aging moisturizer.
2.Mario Badescu Drying Cream
I really love this sulphur mask. Well, I don't use it as a mask, but as a spot treatment. Works great for those under the skin pimples. I really need to repurchase this, as I noticed nothing else really works for hormonal acne and under the skin bumps like this Drying Cream.
3.Artistry Skin Peel
I haven't come to a solid conclusion of this product yet. I have used it very inconsistently, as I used half of this bottle and half of another one (my mom used the rest). This does help to exfoliate the skin my removing the dead skin cells without the need of harsh micro-beads. You apply this gel onto the skin for 6-8 minutes, then wash it off. It is super gentle, so I think it works better for people with very sensitive skin. My skin is noticeably brighter the next day,but I haven't used it enough to see long term differences yet.
4.Artistry Day Protect Lotion
This is my everyday SPF lotion. I love it, and I will continue to use it. It is light weight and it sinks into my skin rapidly.
5.LUSH Grease Lightning
I can't really say if this worked or not. I feel like sometimes it helped to diminish acne, sometimes it did nothing, and other times I felt like it aggravated my acne. I will not repurchase, but at the same time I don't hate it. I am just not sure how I feel about it o_0
Hair Care
6 . Aussie 3 Minute MiracleThis is a cheap and effective conditioner. It makes my hair really smooth and silky. I use it about 3 times a week. It is easy to use up, but it coasts like $3-5, so it is not a huge deal.
I bought a small sample of this a while ago, and I am really loving it. I was without it for three weeks, and my hair became dry and damaged. I purchased the full size and I am currently using it to repair my dry hair. It is expensive, but for me it is completely worth it.
8.Organix Brazilian Keratin Treatment Shampoo
I love this shampoo! It is sulfate and paraben free, not tested on animals, and also color safe. The shampoo has an odd texture, it is almost jelly-like, but once you apply it to the hair, it feels like any other shampoo. I like that this shampoo does not dry my hair out; it keeps it very moisturized while still cleaning the hair.
9.Organix Brazilian Keratin Treatment Conditioner
Pretty much the same as the shampoo, but this one further moisturizes the hair.
Face Products
10. Urban Decay Complexion Primer Potion- Brightening
I hate this. It does brighten my skin a tiny bit, but it does nothing else. It does not "prime" my face, nor does it make my foundation look better or last longer. I would not repurchase nor recommend it.
11. Revlon ColorStay Foundation 'Buff'
This is my favorite drugstore foundation. It has a high coverage, but it can easily be sheered out by mixing it with a moisturizer. Once I finish some of my other foundations, I will most likely repurchase this one.
12.Skin79 Oriental BB Cream
LOVE this! Enough said. I didn't like it when I first used it, but it has quickly turned into my everyday, preferred face product. I MUST repurchase this before any other BB cream or foundation. The only "bad" thing is that the BB cream comes with a creme blush, and I am not even close to finishing it. Every time I repurchase this BB cream, I will get another of the same cream blush...I wish I could buy a slightly cheaper version that did not have the blush.
13. Artistry Highlighter (the empty pan)
I have no idea what this is called exactly or what the name is. I have had this for a while, and I needed to use it up. It was a shimmer brick type of highlighting powder. It was okay, maybe a tad bit too shimmery and too powdery.
Eye Products
14. Urban Decay Primer Potion - Professional SizeI didn't necessarily finish this, mainly because it was impossible. I used as much as I could, but it dried up and is almost as solid as a rock. I do not recommend the Professional Size, unless you are a makeup artist and use it on clients. This size is too much for a regular person, and it dries up before you have the chance to even use up half of it. I will be sticking to my ELF Eyelid Primer ($1).
15. ELF Eyeliner Pen
This was...okay. It worked well at first, but the pen dried out after while. It was only $1, so I wasn't expecting much. I don't really recommend it.
16 MAC Grease Paint Stick
This was a black one, and I really liked it. I used it on my lower lash line occasionally and it smudged really nicely. I haven't tried any other ones, but I imagine that they are all somewhat similar.
17. Yanqina Volumizer Mascara
This was okay. I liked how it looked on my lashes, but I hated that it smudged on my lid and on my lower lash line when I was applying it. It messed up my eye makeup a couple of times. I would not purchase it, nor recommend it.
18.Prestige My Blackest Lashes
One of my favorite mascaras thus far. It is a very inexpensive drugstore mascara that actually works very well. See my review.
Lip Products
19. MAC Lazy Day LipstickThis was my "everyday" lip color. I kept it in my backpack, so I used it a lot when I was in school. It was just a very nice pink, similar to MAC Angel lipstick.
20. Jack Black Lip Balm
I love this as my day time lip balm. I used it up so fast, but thankfully I have a couple of back ups. I highly recommend this lip balm~
That is it. If you guys have used any of the products above, I would love to know what you think of them :D
Until next time~
I love aussie products!

Wow, you did so well with your ban! I'm so impressed you finished this in a month haha. I feel like it takes me forever to use up things. I totally need to do a project x ban though, I haven't bought anything new in so long.. it's painful. Those under the skin pimples are absolutely the worst- I tried a sample of the drying cream that you showed here and I remember liking it, too. :)
ReplyDeletewhoa!! great job Nancy!!
ReplyDelete@Chelsea Elizabeth: Right? They are great!
ReplyDelete@Stephanie C: Thank you~ I was really surprised too! Ah, It has been hard for me not to buy anything.
@CottonCandyINK: Thanks Tori!~
You did so great with your P20P. :D
ReplyDeleteYou did so great! I know I should do this kind of thing, too. My collection is really crazy, and I'm going to merge accounts with my husband so he's going to see all the makeup purchases I make (scary!). Honestly, I'm having an affair with Sephora!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the 20pan! :D I could never do it! I am in awe of your amazingness! <3
ReplyDeleteI love Organix products!
ReplyDeletegreat job on your ban!! and using up so many products :)
ReplyDeleteGood job Nancy!! I've managed to stick to my blush ban as well but the urge to buy new blush (or makeup in general in your case) is hard to keep down. I'm proud of you!!
ReplyDeletecongratulations!
ReplyDeletecongratulations doll! great job! :)
ReplyDeleteYour make up ban really did inspire me to do the same =) Thoe I still bought one or two things I'm gonna really try and not buy anymore starting in january !!! I've been starting to use some of my old stuffs that I didnt remember I had and it kept me from buying stuffs when I realised I had them =) This is a great idea! and I might do that "makeup buying fund" too =) that would motivate me a lot I'm sure ^^ plus keeping £5 per week it's not a lot so it wudnt get me broke =D
ReplyDeleteIt's a great post I hope you do more of these and the P20P aswell !
