Good Afternoon~
And indeed it is quite a nice day today. Thus I was inspired to do a very lively and bright eye look. I got the idea of this look from Lime Crime's looks. This is the picture that I got the idea from:It is so prettyfull!! I love it. But its a look that not many people would wear on a daily basis, but I find these quite fun and different, so why not? I don't always wear crazy makeup, but its nice to break away from the neutral colors once in a while. So anyways, I digress, I came across this and other looks on the Lime Crime website: http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/pages/Get-the-look.html#
There is actually a step by step instruction of how to do this look using the Lime Crime products. I did not use the Lime Crime products, but instead used products I had on hand.
So I will show you how I re-created this look.
So, as you can see, my rendition is a bit less intense. I used the same colors, but I toned it down in brightness and in the amount of product I used. I also did not drag the green and blue colors too high above the crease. This makes the look slightly more wearable. Also, I did not apply fake eyelashes, since I am not a big fan of using lashes on an everyday basis, more for special occasions.
Product List and Steps:
1) I applied UD Primer Potion on the entire lid.
2) To further ensure the colors stayed on better, I applied Coastal Scent's gel liner in Silk White. But you can apply any other white base, or no base if you wish.
3) Apply a yellow eyeshadow on the center of the lids, I used a yellow color from the Coastal Scents 88 palette.
4) Next, I applied a aqua blue color from the 88 palette next to the yellow on the outer corner. bring up slighly above the crease.
5) Then, I applied a darker blue color, not too dark though, on the outer corner going over the last parts of the aqua blue (do not completely cover the aqua blue, just the ends of it).
6) Apply a lime green color, 88 palette, on the inner corners of the eyes, on the other side of the yellow color. Apply it on the lid and slightly above the crease on the inner corners.
7) Apply a sligthly blue-ish green color above the yellow and between the blue and the green colors. The one I used is also from the 88 palette.
8) With a fluffy blending brush, blend the blues and the green colors together, try to avoid blending the yellow. You want the yellow to really pop. But don't over blend. You don't want the colors to get muddy. So just blend them slightly to get a better transition between the colors.
9) Then re-apply the yellow color on the center once more, just to ensure the yellow really stands out.
10) Now that we are done with the upper lids, we take a pink or red eyeshadow and apply it on the lower lash line. I opted for a pink and used MAC's Sushi Flower.
11) Then take a purple eyeliner and apply it on the lower lashline and waterline. This will add the extra color and redefine the eyes. You can also apply the eyeliner a little below the lash line and above the pink color.
12) Lastly, you can apply a liner on the upper lashline, like I did, or just apply mascara. I used L'oreal lineur intense liquid eyeliner and a L'oreal mascara. Falsies are also an option.
And you are done!See how it does not look too bright?
Hope you enjoyed~ See you next time ^_^
