Review + EOTD: ELF Eyelid Primer and UDPP Comparison

Hii ♥

It feels like it has been a while since I did a EOTD or a product review! I have been testing out ELF's $1 eyelid primer for about a month now, and I think it is time to do a review/comparison! ELF products have been a hit or miss for me, so I decided to try the eye primer. Its only $1, and if it works well, I can say bye-bye to my Urban Decay primer.

Price and Availability
ELF: $1! amazingly cheap. I purchased mine at Target, but you can find ELF on eyeslipsface.com.You get .17 fl ounces.
UDPP: The professional size is $29, the regular is $19 you can find them at Sephora or the Urban Decay website.  The regular $19 tubes of PP contain .37 fl ounces.

Texture and Formula
ELF: This has a very watery formula, so it is super easy to blend into the eyelid. It also means that you need less product to cover the entire lid area since its spreads so easily. It has a very satin-like texture, so its smooth and not thick or cakey at all. I really love how easily I can apply it! This applies clear, but is a little moist afterwards. I like the moistness of it because I feel that my eyeshadow really sticks to the eyelid.

UDPP: This has a thicker texture than the ELF primer. You get a tiny amount on your finger and apply it on the eyelid. Because it is thicker, it is harder to spread it on the eyelid. But it still applies pretty easily and it also has a smooth texture. Although, not as smooth as the ELF primer. This dries clear and dry. I feel that the eyeshadow does not adhere as well to this primer.

Creasing?
I applied my primer and eyeshadow at 9 a.m. And took these pictures at 7 p.m.

I already knew that my UDPP prevents creasing on my eye, but how did the ELF primer hold up?Well amazingly, it prevented creasing! And it did just as well as my UDPP! I think the UDPP is a tiny bit better at preventing creasing, but not much.

Verdict
Because of the huuuuge gap in the price, I am going to say the ELF Eyelid Primer is a definite winner. I can save a good amount of money by switching over to ELF. What about you guys? You should join the Dark Side and try out this primer!

Product Rave: Macadamia Oil

My first hair product rave, ever!

I don't use many hair products, or even if I use them, they don't impress me enough for me to repurchase them. I have been using a sample of Macadamia Oil I got from a friend of mine, and WOW! I love it. It is the Macadamia Oil treatment oil? Eh...Well the brand is called Macadamia Oil and the product is an oil so is it Macadamia Oil oil?

Anyways, my friend purchased it at Pure Beauty, which is a beauty supply store, for about $36. Expensive, I know, but it has done wonders to my hair! I had tons of split ends and very dry ends. This has helped soooo much to get rid of split ends and to overall hydrate my hair. I seriously had a loooot of split ends, but I didn't want to cut my hair since I am growing out. Now I don't have to; not yet anyways. Also, when you apply it, it really adds shine and life to your hair. It makes it radiant without making it look oily.

The scent is interesting too. It smells nutty and I really love how it smells. I am so in love with this, that I am going to purchase my own bottle. I will do a proper review once I get my own bottle and use it for a longer time.

On a side note, my friend has also used it and her hair looks so great too! It is incredibly soft and shiny.

I will update you guys on this. So far, I have used it everyday for the last month. See you all very soon!

Top Powder Blush Picks Spring/Summer 2011

Hey guys!

Following my Top Cream Blush Picks, I am proceeding to show you guys my favorite powder blushes for this season. I personally prefer powder blushes, so I have a lot more powder blush favorites.
*I again apologize for mentioning limited edition products :/ But they are honestly my favorites.

 NYX 'Cinnamon' Powder Blush:
A great bright orange shade that is amazing for a bold cheek. This is matte.
Everyday Minerals 'Sand Cherry' Blush
~Lovely, shimmery golden, peachy color. I like this as a highlighter over a peachy/orange blush.
MAC 'Stereo Rose' MSF:
~ Shimmery coral. Gives a really nice glow to the cheeks
MAC 'Well Dressed'
~A light pink that is suitable for almost every skin tone. It is just one of those colors you can slap on with any look. It is my everyday, go-to blush.
MAC 'Spaced Out'
~A light, warm peach color. But it has a very interesting pink sheen that is not captured by the camera. A very unique blush.
MAC 'Dolly Mix'
~A hot pink, that is still very wearable. This blush give an amazing glow to the face, and it looks great on all skin tones. I like to layer this over 'Well Dressed'.

Swatches

Spring and Summer have been all about the orange and corals, so play up your cheeks with some bold colors!

China Glaze 'Flying Dragon'

Ah beautiful purple color ♥
Purple always makes me happy, and when I wear this on my nails, I am even happier!

Flying Dragon
A medium toned purple with slight pink undertones and really cool blue and red/pink glitter.

Formula

China Glaze could have made this an amazing polish. But, noooo, they screwed it up. In the bottle it looks simply amaziiiing! Then, when you put the first coat on your nails, you will be very disappointed. The first coat is really sheer and kind of gross looking. That is because this is a matte polish. 3 coats will deliver the best results. The glitter is really amazing, but the matte finish really minimizes the effect of the glitters. That is why, I prefer to add two coats of a top coat. The top coat will make the polish shiny, and it will also make the glitter more prominent. This polish would have been so much better if it was not matte.

Overall, I love this color. I just wished that it wasn't matte.

What do you guys think?

Top Creme Blush Picks Spring/Summer 2011

If there is one makeup item that I am extremely obsessed with, it is blush ♥
I love blushes of all colors, finishes, and brands. So picking my top favorites for this season was extremely difficult. First, I will show you my favorite creme blushes. I don't have many creme blushes, but the following are my favorites~
*I apologize before hand for mentioning some limited edition products. But I simply love the blushes so, I will mention them anyways.

Cream Blushes
I honestly don't like cream blushes when its hot. I prefer powders. But, I have a few drugstore cream blushes that I have been loving! I use them on their own, or under a powder blush.

Pink Flash/ Plaza Pink/ Wild Berry
All three of these are NYC Blushable Cream Sticks, which are super cheap and really good quality. Unfortunately Pink Flash and Wild Berry were LE :(
(No Flash) Top to Bottom: Pink Flash/ Plaza Pink/ Wild Berry

(With Flash)
Pink Flash: Bright coral-pink. I think this is kind of similar to MAC Cremeblend Blush in 'Joie-De-Vivre', not an exact dupe though.
Plaza Pink:Pink with coral undertone. As you can see from the flash picture, it is a little frosty. But it great for adding an amazing glow to the cheeks. This is permanent and you can find it where ever NYC is sold.
Wild Berry: A magenta berry color. This is very bright and pigmented! I have no dupes for this. I wonder if this is a little similar to MAC Creme Color Base in 'Madly Magenta'?

Overall Thoughts
I love these because they are 1) Super pigmented 2) Very affordable, and 3) Easy to build up the color and to blend. I hope that NYC makes more colors, because these are seriously amazing ♥

*If you know any other creme blushes that look similar to Wild Berry, please let me know! That one is my absolute favorite~

What is your favorite creme blush?

FOTD: Sky on Fire

Lately I have been really emo. Haha, just kidding. But I have enjoyed sitting outside alone, just watching the sky at sunset. I was inspired by all the different colors on the sky to do a fun and colorful eye look My look is a bit of a reversed sunset look, since the darker colors are on my lower lash line, and the bright sunny colors are on my lid.

Inspired by the setting sun~

~ELF Eyelid Primer (Review on this coming soon)

~Lime Crime 'Twilight' pigment on the inner corner of the lower lash line

NARS 'Sheer Glow' VS Make Up For Ever 'HD Foundation'

Hii everyone! I hope that you all had a great weekend. It was Father's Day and I spent some time with my dad, who I don't see very often because he works so much! It was nice to spend some quality time with most of my family~ I have meaning to do this post for so long, and I finally got around to it :D Hope this is helpful to those who have eyes these two very hyped foundations!

Price, Quantity, and Availability
I purchased both of these at Spehora.
NARS Sheer Glow:  $42 for 1 Fl oz

MUFE HD Foundation: $40 for 1 Fl oz

As you can see, the Sheer Glow is $2 more, but it does not come with a pump. If you want to have a pump, you will have to purchase it from the NARS website, and it costs $6. The HD foundation comes with a pump already. Thus, NARS will set you back $8.
Price wise, MUFE has the upper hand.

Packaging
Both foundations come in a sleek bottle. I like both, but they both have some negative points.
Sheer Glow: comes in a glass bottle, which I personally like. But, it is more prone to breaking. Because of this, it is not very travel friendly. As I mentioned above, it also does not come with a pump. I like my foundations to come with a pump, so minus one point for NARS. I had to purchase my pump separately T_T

MUFE HD: is a plastic bottle, that already comes with a pump. I have no gripes with the packaging at all. The pump is great! And although it comes in a plastic bottle, the bottle still looks extremely sleek .

MUFE HD foundation has the more convenient packaging, but as far as looks and personal preference, I like the NARS Sheer Glow packaging better. I am a sucker for NARS packaging as well as glass-bottled foundations.

Color Selection:
MUFE has way better color selections that NARS. MUFE HD foundation maches my skin tone much better than my Sheer Glow. Because of that, the MUFE HD foundation looks more natural on the skin.

Formula Comparison

NARS:
~much watery than the MUFE one, so it is very easy to spread over our skin. Because this foundation is more moist, it works very well for people with dry/combo skin. The formula makes it so it gives your skin a nice dewy finish.

MUFE:
~Is a lot drier compared to the Sheer Glow. It is also a lot easier to blend into the skin. This foundation seems to work better with oilier skin types, since it gives a satin finish.

Duration

NARS
~Although this makes me a little shiny thorughout the day, it holds up very nice. It doesn't crack on my skin, and it leaves the skin looking really fresh and dewy. I do have to blot at least once, but that isn't too bad. SO although it might make you oily, it stays put on the skin extremely well!

MUFE:
~This controls oil very well because it has a drier formula. But it also is prone to looking a little flaky and dry on my skin. I have to be very careful to moisturize my skin well and even maybe use a setting spray over my foundation. I would say that if you have oilier skin than me, this will last a lot longer on your skin than the NARS one.

For duration, I have to go with the NARS Sheer Glow~

Swatches
NARS is on the left and MUFE on the right.

Verdict
NARS Sheer Glow is my favorite of the two.
Why? Mostly because the HD foundation made me breakout. The Sheer Glow, although it does not prevent oiliness, does not melt off my face in the heat. It also doesn't make my face look dry, and does not "crack" on my face. If you want to try either of these, please go to Sephora, or any counter that has these, to give you a sample to try. Then, you can decide whether to purchase these or to skip out on it. Because of the price, I highly recommend that you get a sample first!

Thank you for reading ♥

Nicole by OPI 'Comet-ment'

Yet another winner by Nicole by OPI! I have been very impressed with this line of nail polishes recently, and I think they really stepped up their game. The one I chose this time is a holographic top coat~ Holo polishes are never a let down ^_^

Price and Availability
I believe this was $7 ~_~ I don't even keep track of what I spend...
This is a Target exclusive, so you can online find it at Target, or on eBay and whatnot.

Comet-ment [Work play on 'Commitment']
Is a semi-sheer holographic polish. I don't think this works that well alone; I would use it over top of other nail polishes. That being said though, this is a lot more pigmented than most layering polishes. I only used one coat, and you can see the holo shimmers very well. This dries very quickly and it's not watery or thick. It is extremely easy to use and to apply.

Swatches:
One coat over two coats of Essie's 'Smooth Sailing'

Essie 'Smooth Sailing'Braziliant Collection

Hiiiii <3
Thank you all for coming to my blog! I have been lacking in my nail polish posts, mostly because my nails are still very uneven. I'm still working on that, so for the mean time please endure my ugly nails :D

Price and Availability
$7-$8. I bought this at Rite Aid, but you might it at CVS, Walgreens, or anywhere else that Essie is sold.

Smooth Sailing
A periwinkle blue full of silver shimmer. This color is very unique to me, as I have nothing that is close to it. The base color, the periwinkle blue, is dupable, but the shimmer in this would be hard to duplicate.

Formula
In the swatches I have 2 coats on, but I think 3 would be best. It is not a sheer polish, in fact I though it was very pigmented. The problem with wearing 1 or 2 coats is that the shimmer will not be as noticeable. Also, if you want the shimmer to be noticeable, you need to use a really good top coat. So although I like the overall formula of this polish, it is not perfect. If you don't use a good top coat, it will look kind of dull.

EOTD: Effortless Neutral Look

Do you ever have those days where you are super lazy and don't want to apply much makeup? But then you realize you have to go to something important and you want to look a little more put together? Yeah, I get that a lot. I had a job interview, but I didn't feel like applying makeup and I only had about 10 minutes to get ready. I quickly used my Wet N Wild Vanity palette to create a super quick, easy, yet put together look.

I used two of the matte colors from the Vanity palette from Wet N Wild:
#1 is a light beige color that is a little lighter than my skin tone.
#2 is a mid tone brown that I love to use on my crease.

How I Achieved this Look:
~I applied #1 all over the lid, from the lash line to the brow bone.
~I applied #2 on my crease and a little bit on my lower lash line
~Liquid liner
~Mascara

SUPER EASY, right?

It literally took me less than a minute to do my eyeshadow! Yet, it makes a big difference in how your eyes look. I think this is perfect for going to job interview because it looks really natural, and more polished. Definitely give this a try sometime :D
