Review: Lime Crime 'Airborne Unicorne' Lipstick

Well hello! I am excited to show this lipstick to you guys ♥ I have been loving it for spring time :)

 Swatch on my hand
 Swatched on my Lips

Barely put on my lips
After 3 hours
Lipstick removed from my lips
 PROS:
~I love the color, very similar to MAC 'Lavender Whip' Lipstick
~I love the packaging! [Some people do not, but I do]
~Smells like vanilla, and the smell is not overwhelming
~After you take the lipstick off [ or it fades on its own] it leaves a subtle reddish tint

CONS:
~Pricey. At $16 each, it is more expensive than MAC lipsticks.
~It doesn't last very long [max wear for me is about 3-4 hours]
~After 2-3 hours it can start to look patchy
~The tube, although cute, is a bit flimsy. I dropped mine and it cracked a bit on the lid of the tube :(

Verdict:
Although there are some cons to this lipstick, I still really like it. I love the color and I love the fact that it tints my lips. Lime Crime has a lot of unusual colors, and I like that. I love purple lipsticks, which are not too common with other brands besides MAC and Illamsaqua [that I know of anyways...] I am sure you can find some other dupes for this, so if you like this color you can check some other brands out.

Tag: Would you rather...

Just a quick tag that I saw on Angela's blog. I have seen this tag numerous times on Youtube, so I thought it would be fun to do ^_^

Would you rather...

Go out with messy hair and nice make-up or nice hair and messy make-up?
I am going to go for messy hair and nice makeup. I don't really like the look of neat hair on me, so I tend to do messy buns and very messy, wind swept hair. I think messy makeup tends to be more noticeable as well.

Shave your eyebrows or have your eyelashes fall out?
Well, this is a questionable question [haha does that even make sense?]! I guess eyebrows grow kind of fast. Although, I would be stuck looking like a chola until my eyebrows grew back ...But no eyelashes? I would look freaky..but then there is fake eyelashes...Okay so eyebrows it is.

Forced to shop at only MAC or Sephora for the rest of your life?
Sephora for sure. I love MAC, but their recent collections have been very boring. Besides Sephora offers a variety of brands, colors, and prices.

Wear the lipgloss & lip liner look or 80's perm?
I guess the lipliner and lipgloss look. You can actually do this without making you look like a chola, plus you could take it off whenever you want. But 80's perm is...well, permanent. And I am not liking the 80's perm. No siree Bob. [Omg does anyone say that anymore??]

Leave the house with obvious foundation line or over-done blush?
Bluuuush. I love blush, and blush is pretty easy to blend out. Foundation lines are harder to cover. I feel that because the foundation dries and it is harder to make it blend in.

MC Hammer pants or biker shorts in public?
Biker shorts. Definitely. Especially because I live in the city with the most bikes per capita, so biker shorts are super duper common. Like I will see tons of people wearing biker shorts, all the f'ing time.

Bad orange-y spray tan or weird tan lines that cannot be covered?
This is really hard [that's what she said...hehe]. I hate spray on tans and I hate tan lines. This is probably the most difficult question. And actually I don't tan at all, so I don't really get tan lines. I guess the spray on tan. They look horrible but they are easier to remove.

Bad haircut or bad hair colour?
Hair color~ Bad hair cuts really suck. I have been so traumatized by bad hair cuts, and hair takes a while to grow back.

YouTube or Twitter taken away forever?
I am going to say twitter. I love watching videos on Youtube! So much fun.

Give up using make-up brushes or mascara?
How horrible! I love my brushes and my mascara! Hmmmmmmmmm..let me think about this one. I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking,I'm thinking, I'm thinking, I'm thinking....for eternity!Yeah, this is not a good question.

Please do this tag if you are interested! They are so much fun to write~

Shiro Cosmetics Swatches and Review: The Legends Collection

Hi Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great Easter weekend! If you do not celebrate Easter, then I hope you still had a great time.

In my previous post I talked a little about Shiro Cosmetics, a store on Etsy.com that sells vegan makeup. I purchased a couple of pigments from the Zelda collection.I was really drawn to this collection because I love Zelda, and I have played most of the Zelda games.
I purchased:

1) Puzzle Cube
~A white shadow with tons of multicolored shimmer. I do not know exactly what they were getting at with the name 'Puzzle Cube'. Zelda games are always chucked full  of puzzles so I guess that is what they meant.
Cons: The shimmers are very prominent, so fall out is a bit of an issue. I use my Pixie Epoxy with this to ensure the least amount of fall out. Also, the formula can be a little gritty.

2)Deku
~A reddish, golden brown, with subtle hints of green shimmer. This is a PERFECT color for the Deku tree. When I saw this, I was like "Must have!" and slight saliva drooling from my mouth. This is a great neutral that is definitely not your grandma's neutral eyeshadow. The Deku tree was one of the prominent characters that I remember from Ocarina of Time, and it also came out in Wind Waker. The color really catches the essence of the Deku tree.
Great Deku tree

3)Majora's Mask
~A bright blue based purple with gold and pink shimmers. This color is very nostalgic. I remember playing Majora's Mask as a child, and it really pissed me off. It was a really difficult game! But of course, this color really caught my eye: its purple, and the color of the pigment is a great representation of Majora's Mask.
Cons: The beautiful shimmers can be lost if you blend the color too much. And if you do blend too much, you can also make the color bland. It loses its vibrancy and it becomes greyed and dull.

4)Veran
~Beautiful teal-ish/purple-ish dark blue with pink and purple shimmers. This color is simply amazing. It has a really nice depth to it, and it makes describing the color rather difficult. Veran is the antagonist of Oracles of Ages. I never played this game, so I can't say too much about her. But from what I see, the colors really do represent Veran accurately. I think she is a really awesome character to translate into an eyeshadow!
Veran

5) Midna
~A blue grey with teal/blue shimmer. Midna is one of the main characters of Twilight Princess [Awesome game!I have played it countless of times! Although, not as great as Ocarina of Time, but nothing really compares to Ocarina Of Time]. I love the character of Midna, and she ends up being the Twilight Princess [At first I thought it was going to be Zelda]. If they really wanted to capture the essence of Midna, I feel that it would have been appropriate to add some orange to the mix. Maybe a subtle orange shimmer? But regardless it is a really nice color.
Midna. See, her orange hair really stands out!
Price
$5 for a full size jar.
Containers

I loooove the packaging!
I really love the fact that the Triforce is on the top of each jar. The only problem I had with the jars is that each one is packed with pigment[that is a good thing :)], so much so that nothing comes through the sifter. I had to remove the sifter in order to get product. It wasn't too bad I guess.

Puzzle Cube and Deku

Majora's Mask, Veran, Midna

Overall Thoughts:
Even if you do not like Zelda, or do not know what it is [>_<], these colors are really awesome. I liked all five colors, my favorites are the last three. I can't pick one favorite, but I could pick my least favorite: Puzzle Cube. The formula of these are great, except for Puzzle Cube, it can be slightly gritty. So overall, these are unique colors that you will most likely not find in department or drug store eyeshadows. That in itself makes these worth having. :)

Shiro Cosmetics Swatches and Review: 'Leeroy Jenkins' Intertube

Hi babes ^_^ How is everyone's weekend going?
Mine is awesome. I got to go to San Francisco again yesterday. I went to Marker Street, the Westfield Mall, and my friends and I walked from the mall all the way to Fisherman's Wharf and then all the way to Japan Town. My feet hurt like hell today D: And when we walked from Japan Town back to Market Street [We parked on Market Street so we had to go back in order to get the car] Google Maps decided to take us through the worst part of the city. You know, the ghetto part, where is looks like you will get shot or raped [or both]. Yep, stupid Google Maps was trying to kill us! But we arrived safely to the parking lot, only to realize we lost the parking ticket [which we needed in order to pay for the parking. They charge by the hour]. And apparently they charge you $32 for a lost ticket...That sucked. So, we left San Francisco, $32 dollars poorer. Oh and I forgot the $12 [$6 to go in, $6 to go out] we had to pay for the bridge toll >_<  It was a fun day though. Haha.
But enough of my life...

Shiro Cosmetics is a super awesome store on Etsy.com. The owner makes makeup inspired by geeky stuff [YES!] She has two collections of pigments inspired by Zelda and Pokemon [Awesome-o!]. When I first saw these, the nerd inside me squealed with delight! Ahh~ And then I also saw these things called "Intertubes" which are lip products named after internet memes. A couple caught my eye, like the 'Sad Keanu', which is named after Keanu Reeves, and another is called 'Over 9000' [From DragonBall Z, you know...ITS OVER 9000!!! *Sigh* Never mind...]. You won't get the names of these unless you are a huge nerd or are constantly on the internet. The one I bought was 'Leeroy Jenkins,' mostly because that was the color I liked the most, but I also thought that the Youtube video of the WoW was hilarious. If you do not know about Leeroy Jenkins search it on Youtube then you will see.

What is an 'Intertube'? Good question. Shiro Cosmetics says:
"Intertubes are a unique vegan lip product created and produced by Shiro Cosmetics. They each have the moisturizing properties and consistency of a very nice semigloss balm, but the intensity and opacity of each unique color varies too widely for Intertubes as a whole to be described as simply a "tinted balm," a "lipstick," or a "stain." Therefore, I've decided it's most accurate to call them "tubes of win" and expand upon each color in its individual listing."

Price and Availability
$6.50 each. The price is not too bad.

Product Review
Let me just say that there are good things and bad things about this product. I absolutely love the color; it is a beautiful pinkish purple color that is totally wearable. If you have read my blog before, you might know I love purple lip products, especially lipsticks. Although this looks like a balm, it essentially applies more like a lipstick. Also, these feel moisturizing, much more so that a lipstick. These are glossy, and I would compare the finish to be a mixture of MAC's Cremesheen and Amplified creme finish The smell is phenomenal, it has a minty scent.  But, the bad thing is the texture. I dislike the texture because it feels weird when you apply it. In the tube, it feels a bit gritty. But once on your lips, it does not feel gritty at all. In fact it feels every nice. Also, when you apply it, it will look fine on the lips, but if you look closely, you will notice that it is a bit patchy. I would recommend putting a gloss over these to get rid of the patches.
These also leave a tint of color on your lips. This one leaves a reddish, "just bitten" kind of color.
Packaging
These have chap stick like packaging. They are the size of chap sticks and convenient to carry in your pocket or bag.

 Swatches: On my Hand
No flash

With Flash
Swatches: On my Lips   *I had a cold sore and my lips have been super dry lately, so I apologize.

The picture above was taken with me wearing the intertube. It looks very patchy, but maybe it was because my lips were already dry and not moisturized.
This one looks much better. I put on some lip balm before I applied the intertube.

Verdict
I would definitely purchase this again, because I love the color. It it hard to find good purple lipsticks that are wearable. I don't care for the texture, but it could be worse. I give this an 7/10.
There is more colors, even a blue one! If you are interested, check out the Etsy shop :)
*Soon to come, Shiro Cosmetics Pigment swatches and review.

*This was purchase by  me.

Like the rest of the shadows from Fyrinnae, these are fantastic! Like A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I mean, sure you don't get some super quite packaging, but what matters is on the inside! Lime Crime Tutorial Series: 'Little Mystery' Look

For a while now I have been obsessed with the makeup tutorials on the Lime Crime website. I have done one look before, a rainbow eyeshadow look [See Here]. I follow the tutorial, and sometimes modify the look slightly. You can do these looks with any products you want to use, but for this one I use some of the Lime Crime products and one shadow from my Coastal Scents 88 palette.

*I am affiliated with Lime Crime now, but I am not required to do these or to use their products. I am merely doing this for fun, and because I have loved their tutorials even before I was affiliated with them and before I had ever purchased any of their products. All items shown were purchased by me.

Here is the look from Lime Crime:
Link to the Lime Crime tutorial: http://www.limecrimemakeup.com/pages/Get-the-look.html#

My Version:
[You will notice I added some purple lashes. I don;t usually wear lashes, so I applied them a little messy]
*I am not sure why, but the eyeshadows were washed out in the pictures. It is actually somewhat brighter in person.

What I used:
~Lime Crime 'Cupcake Thief'
~Lime Crime 'Twilight'
~Lime Crime 'Empress'
~Lime Crime 'Medusa'
~A pink color from the Coastal Scents 88 palette
(The tutorial uses Lime Crime 'Abracadabra' which I don't own]

I pretty much just followed the site's instruction, but I did it a little less intense. I also did not take the color up as high on my crease.

What I would change from this look:
So the tutorial is done in a way where the bright pink color is applied last. I actually like this look better without the bright pink. Instead, I would have applied 'Cupcake Thief' [A sparkly, light pink] on the center.

I will be doing more the LM looks, so look out for those. Thank you all fir reading :)
