Fyrinnae FOTD: Bride of Frankeinstein

Happy Halloween! I hope you all had a better Halloween than I did, since I was stuck in the library or in class most of today. I also don't have plans to do anything tonight since I have way too much work to do (besides the fact that I am all bruised up from the concert I went to on Saturday!).It seems befitting to post another look using the Fyrinnae Halloween collection ^_^ Hope you enjoy :D

*This is not a costume look! Just my normal EOTD~

Sephora F&F Haul + YSL Fails

Hello again!~
I wanted to quickly show you what I purchased from the Sephora Friends and Family sale. I was surprised that I only purchased two things, but I was very proud that I didn't buy any more stuff. I also wanted to share with you some of my recent YSL regrets. I purchased  two products which I returned because I disliked them.

From the Sephora F&F sale I purchased:

-Tokidoki Pittura Brush Set: 24K Edition ($42)

EOTD: Alien Eye

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing great~
Just a little update: I won't be posting any Halloween looks since I won't be dressing up this year. It is kind of sad, but I have been really busy with school and other things. I went to a concert last night that was totally insane. I have several bruises and I am so tired today. But it was really fun! I had a chance to meet and greet with the band Alesana. It was amazing. We took pictures with them and got posters signed by them. I will mostly likely make a  post about that later ;)

This EOTD was something I did because I was really bored. I didn't really have a plan on what I was doing, it kind of just happened. I thought it looked crazy, but I am still posting it!

Deborah Lippmann 'Ruby Red Slippers'

I am very "iffy" about Lippmann polishes. I tend to love the colors, and hate the formula, or hate the color but love the formula. In other words, something is always wrong with the polish. And at $18 a bottle, you want to make sure you completely love the color and formula Out of all the Deborah Lippmann polishes that I have owned, Ruby Red Slippers is by far my favorite.

My Favorite Fall/Winter Polish!

Purple and Black are my favorite colors. Fall is my favorite season.
So a dark plum nail polish that is trendy for fall/winter is absolute perfection to me! I have a lot of dark polishes, but there is one that stands out from my collection, and that is OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark.

The Legend of Zelda Series: Princess Zelda

Hello loves.
Today is my birthday and I had so much fun! I want to thank my friends for all the lovely messages and words ♥
I have been slacking off on my Zelda looks, but I finally manged to proceed with the series.
I am going to be frank. I didn't completely love this look. I mean, I liked the look, but not as an inspired look for Princess Zelda. I felt it was lacking the element of grandeur and elegance that Princess Zelda has. But either ways, I am posting it, and I will mostly likely be attempting another Princess Zelda look.

Here is the inspirational picture. This is Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess. Isn't she gorgeous?!
And seriously, if you don't know who Zelda is...I would be speechless.
I loved Princess Zelda in Twilight Princess. She was so gentle, calm, serene, and extremely composed. She had the quality of a ruler and a true princess. She was definitely shown to be extremely wise, as of course she would be since she carries the Triforce of Wisdom.

FOTD: Egyptian Doll

I wore the Egyptian Queen look again last night and I took some photos to show you guys. I really like this look because the colors look so great together and it also isn't a super dramatic look. I mixed the look with a more gothic twist by wearing all black ;D

To remind you guys, here is the eye look:

Here is the FOTD:

I have no idea what was going on with my hair...haha.

Fyrinnae EOTD: Egyptian Queen

As promised, here is another look using the Fyrinnae Halloween 2011 eyeshadows. If you haven't seen the previous look, Gothic Doll, check it out ;)

This look reminded me of colors that you tend to see in Egyptian inspired makeup. The gold and black are simply stunning colors with gorgeous shimmer! Never mind the fact that the gold color is called 'Book of the Dead' which is an ancient text from Egypt. Here is the look:

Fyrinnae EOTD: Gothic Doll

Hii Everyone! I want to welcome my new followers and thank all my long time followers for being so kind~ I was very depressed today, and reading all your lovely comments made me so happy! It is so great to have such amazing readers and friends here in the blogging community. Thank you all so much for making my day so much better ^_^

I had a couple of requests to do some looks with the new Fyrinnae Halloween colors. I will be doing some, and hopefull getting back to my Zelda FOTDs as well. Here is today's look using two Fyrinnae shadows. I think it was because of the circle lenses and the lashes, but the end result looked sultry and gothic-like, but still girly. It reminded me of a gothic doll look. I would personally wear this with a contoured cheek, and a nude/pink lipstick. Or, for a more dramatic look, go for a purple or plum lipstick.

EOTD: Midnight Faerie

*Check out my Blog Sale

There is something very alluring about the night. Whether it is because of the darkness or the mystery of what prowls at twilight, it is something that humans have associated with a time of magic and mischief. When I think of fairies, I usually imagine them in a wooded area, surrounded by flowers, under a bright moon. This look was inspired by this image. It is fun, mischievous, and has a touch of that faerie pixie-dust glamour.
This look, and the inspiration, ties in so well with the YSL Midnight Garden palette! And that is what I used, exclusively. Also, I have seen a lot of Fairy Halloween makeup tutorials, and I couldn't get the idea of fairy makeup out of my mind!

I was wearing this super cute GIR necklace that I have had FOREVER.

Fyrinnae Halloween 2011 Collection

Hello everyone~ I have something very special for you guys today: the new Fyrinnae Halloween collection! This combines two things I absolutely love: Fyrinnae shadows and Halloween~
I purchased these as soon as I could and I have been enjoying them sooo much. I cannot even express how much I adore Fyrinnae <3

Price and Availability
You can purchase these on the Fyrinnae website. FYI, the site is down occasionally since they receive such a huge volume of orders. Check periodically until the store is back up. Also, there isn't a specific page just for the new colors. Make sure you check the entire list of their shadows as well the page for the arcane eyeshadows.
Prices are:
$2.50 for a sample
$5.50 for a full size
Sample sizes are very generous, and I recommend you go for the samples since they are inexpensive and there in more than enough product. Then if you really love a color, you can buy a full size.

Product Review
I am so impressed with the colors from this collection. I really have to give kudos to Fyrinnae; they make the most complex and smoothest shadows ever!
The colors and names are simply amazing. So much so that I can say without a doubt that these shadows are the best eyeshadows I have purchased this year. I purchased 8 sample sizes and a back up of Pixie Epoxy and the total, including shipping, was under $25.Imagine, one MAC pigment jar is $20 and the quality is not as great as Fyrinnae shadows, but with $25 you can get 8 Fyrinnae colors (+1 extra free sample) and a whole tube of Pixie Epoxy. Yeah, the MAC one has more product, but are you really going to use up an entire MAC pigment? Not likely.
I would also like to mention that this collection had about 3 shades with glitter. I thought that the ones that had glitter would be a little grainy in texture, but they are not at all!! Even the glitter packed shadows are super smooth!

Swatches
*the (arcane) means that that eyeshadow is part of the arcane eyeshadow range. Arcanes are the colors that shift colors depending on the light.

Purgatory- One of my favorite colors of the collection. It is a blackened crimson. Totally kick ass! I am going to use the crap out this color because it is so gorgeous! Totally a Dark Side kind of color :D
Alchemist's Curse (arcane)- A blackened purple base with tons of purple shimmer. The pictures are a little deceiving. I think this is really similar to MAC Young Punk eyeshadow. This is a really great dupe for it. I <3 this color. Can't go wrong with a blackened purple.
Dorian Grey-A very dark gunmetal grey with silver and  blue/teal shimmers. The camera did not capture the blue/teal in this shade. It is super pretty!
Raven's Prophecy (arcane)-A black base with tons of green and blue micro-glitter. Firstly, love the name. Ravens and Crows are my favorite animals (weird, I know)! Also, the small glitter in this is so beautiful. The gliters glisten and shine in the light and add glamour to any look.

EOTD: Midnight Garden

Hii Dark Siders!

Here is one of the looks I promised you using the YSL Midnight Garden Palette. I will most likely have one or two more looks with this palette, so look out for that!
This is a darker, more smokey look. I blended the dark teal and darker plum color on the crease and above the crease for a dark, seductress look. If you want to keep this look more casual, simply don't add the dark teal and don't apply shadows above the crease.

YSL Midnight Garden Ombres 5 Lumieres

About two or three weeks ago I went to Nordstrom to buy a present for one of my friends, and I ended up looking around at the makeup counters. I passed by the YSL counter with no intention of buying anything. That is, until something sparkly and beautiful caught my eye: the YSL Midnight Garden collection!

The first thing that I noticed was the Ombres 5 Lumieres palette. I am not a huge fan of YSL palettes, and I have never been tempted to buy one before. But when I saw the palette for the Midnight Garden collection, I instantly fell in love <3 The palette I am talking about is the #11 in Midnight Garden and it is the named after the collection. I was so love-blinded that I purchased it without a second thought. Once I had it for a couple of days, I hesitated slightly because it was VERY expensive. Thus I wanted to conduct a thorough examination of this palette in order to determine whether I should keep it or not.

Skincare NOT Wednesdays: LUSH Sweet Lips

*It is not wednesday...but I am a rebel like that. LOL

What better way to get smooth and soft lips than with an an amazing lip scrub!
LUSH's 'Sweet Lips' lip scrub is the best lip scrub I have ever used. It isn't too abrasive and it tastes and smells absolutely delicious! It is also an all natural, vegan product.

The Legend of Zelda Series: Ganondorf

I wanted to start of the series with a little bit of evil. Ganondorf (or Ganon if you prefer) was the main antagonist of the Zelda series, although he does not appear in all the games. In most games, he holds the the Triforce of Power, and he is a power hungry villain. I have very fond memories of kicking his ass in Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess. I was a little disappointed that he wasn't going to be in Skywards Sword, but oh well, I guess I will kick his ass again some other time ^_^

The two pictures below were my inspiration. The one on the left is Ganondorf from Twilight Princess, and the one of the right is Ganondorf from Wind Waker. I choose to use reds, blacks, the slight copper tones of MAC Smoked Ruby, and also two accents of gold to represent the Triforce.

The Lipstick Compendium: MAC 'Fresh Amour' Mattene Lipstick

MAC Mattene Lipsticks are a range of lipsticks that are designed to have a matte finish. They are packaged in a sleek, black tube.

Price and Availability
$14.50 per tube, and are available at MAC online or any store with MAC counters. This is a limited edition item as part of the Posh Paradise collection.

Fresh Amour is a light pinky- lavender shade. On my lips, it has slight grey undertones. The "matte" aspect of this lipsticks can be a little deceiving. This is matte, but it is super creamy. The formulation reminds me more of MAC Amplified Creams, rather that a Matte. But I actually really love Amplified Creams, so I love the finish of this lipstick.
This color will look better on lighter skin tones, but darker skin tones can definitely pull this color off. I personally have to blot the color slightly, just so it doesn't make me look deathly pale.

Verdict
I love that this Mattene isn't too matte, and it is actually very creamy and smooth. Is does not accentuate dry lips, and it didn't dry my lips either. I love the color, although I can see it would be hard to wear for many people because it is a paler purple. This is my first MAC Mattene, and I am pretty impressed! I'd like to hear other people's experiences with Mattenes :)

Rating: 9/10 (-.5 color wearbability, -.5 for limited availability)
Recommend? I would recommend this if you are a purple lippie junky like me :D
Repurchase? No, it is limited edition after all. There are many other purple lippies out there to try as well!

I am thinking of doing a Purple Lipstick Collection post, since I ♥ my purple lippies! What do you gals think?

Introduction To The Legend of Zelda Series

The Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite game series of all time. I grew up playing the games, and I have so many great memories of it. This month I am going to be 20 years old, and my obsession with the Zelda series continues full force. November 20th is the official release day of The Legend of Zelda: Skywards Sword. I have already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition because I am totally crazy and obsessed.

Many of the hardcore, long time fans did not like the look of Skywards Sword. I agree that it is very different to the previous games, but that does not stop me from being fascinated by the creativity put into the makings of this Zelda game. I have NEVER been disappointed by a Zelda game, so why should this time be any different?

In preparation for the release of the game, I want to start a makeup series dedicated to The Legend of Zelda! I am so excited to this, and I can't believe I didn't do it before. But I hope you will all enjoy the looks! These next 2 pictures are my current inspiration ;)
Princess Zelda

Phantom Ganon

*I will still continue my Sanrio Series, but that will go at a slower pace.

Estee Lauder 'Metallic Sage' Nail Lacquer

A while back, I had my first experience using an Estee Lauder nail polish, and I had absolutely loved it! When I saw a the new collection for Estee Lauder and saw the polish Metallic Sage, I instantly fell in love with it and knew I had to have it. You will see why I am becoming increasingly impressed with the EL nail lacquers!

Metallic Sage ($19.00, Limited Edition) is a dirty gray-toned olive green with loads of gold shimmer. The color is hard to describe, but it is a darker sage green and under some lighting, it is more of a khaki green. This is very expensive, but I LOVE this color sooo much. It went opaque in one coat, and it looks simply amazing. If you are interested, you can check it out at Nordstrom and if you don not like  it, you can always return it :)

You can checkout Vampy Varnish's review, which I totally agree with. And you check out Scrangie's review (although I do not agree with her opinion on the formula).

*I am wearing a base coat and 1 coat of Metallic Sage. No topcoat! Insane, right?

*This polish was sooo difficult to photograph! The green looks a little more saturated in the photos. In real life, it is a dustier and more of a sage green. But,the gold shimmer is extremely accurate in the photos. The gold shimmer is very heavy and not subtle at all.

Verdict
I love the formula, color, shimmer, and packaging! Price? Not so much. This is definitely not something everyone will want to buy. But, as I am an over obsessive makeup and nail polish junkie, I had to have it.But other than the price, it is absolutely perfect!

Rating: 9.5/10 (-.5 for high price!)
Recommend? I would recommend it to people who love to "invest" in high quality nail polishes, and also to other over obsessive junkies ^_^
Repurchase? Hm...thats a tough one.I am going to say no. But I will say that if Estee Lauder releases any other colors similar to this, I will be all over them!

Review: Love Alpha Frozen Jelly Eye Colors

Hii Lovely Reader!

If you have been following my blog for a while, you might remember a post I did about the Love Alpha Copper Frozen Jelly Eye Color (Ooh what a long name!). If you haven't go check it out  for more information on the packaging of these eye colors :)
KKCenterhk has kindly provided me three more of these "frozen jellies" to review.

#05 Light Blue ($3.48) is a sheer minty, icy blue with LOADS of blue, purple, and pink shimmer. I love the color because it looks like it could really be frozen and cold! It is a very unique color and I have really enjoyed it. Also, this one had the best formula and consistency. It was the easiest to use out of all three.
#07 Orange ($3.48) is a sheered, bright orange with tons of gold and yellow-orange shimmers. I like this one, but I don't see myself using it very often.
#09 Purple ($3.48) is pink toned purple with pink, blue, and purple shimmers. This was shockingly my least favorite. I love purple, but the consistency of this one was the hardest to work with.

Product Review
In general, these jellies are very fun to use. The consistency is a little like hair gel, but it is not sticky at all. They go on sheer for the part, so they perform better over powder eyeshadows. The bad thing about these though is that they can crease if you don't apply them correctly. What I do is to pat them gently in with my finger, and let it dry before I move my lid. If you crease your lid before it dries, the the jelly will also crease. So just make sure you give it a minute or so to dry. Other than that, I have no problems with these. The purple one was the thinnest in formula, so it was harder to apply, but that might just be that I got a bad batch.
Light Blue, Purple, and Orange Frozen Jellies. You can see the size of the jar is decent.
Light Blue~ So petty!
Swatches of Light Blue, Purple, and Orange. I personally love Light Blue the best!

Light Blue ~ (I will be doing a separate post on this look because I liked it a lot :D)

Before applying it:
After applying it:
I only applied it on the center of my lid
Orange~
Before applying it:
After applying it:

Purple~
Before:
 After:

Verdict:
I really love Light Blue! It is a gorgeous color with just amazing shimmer. Orange it also pretty, but I don't think I will use it often. Purple also looks really gorgeous, but it is a slight pain to use so I will use it when I know I have time to actually apply it. These are very affordable, at only $3.48 per jar! These are very interesting to work with as well, since they have such a unique jelly-like texture (which is not sticky).

I am not going to rate these because they all performed a little differently, but I recommend these to people who love to work with unusual products and who love shimmer!Check them out on KKCenterhk~

ALSO, If you want a separate post on any of the other two looks, please leave a comment below :)
Thank you for reading.
