Tutorial: Sea Foam (Ft. Glamour Doll Eyes)

Greetings Dark Siders! ;)

Here is another tutorial using some Glamour Doll Eye eyeshadows~ This is a dramatic, fantastic, and etehreal blue/green look!

Ladurée Les Merveilleuses

Hey everyone!!

I have something really awesome to show you. I've been wanting to post this for a long time now, but I completely forgot! This is a really amazing gift from an amazing friend of mine from Japan. He was so sweet to pick these two things up for me after I complained to him how Japan is so lucky to have Ladurée makeup, a super gorgeous makeup brand. I was so surprised to find a package at my door with two fantastic Limited Edition Ladurée makeup items. These two items are from the Ladurée Fall release and I was lemming them~ I swear friends can be mind readers!

FOTD: Maleficent Night Villain Look

Greetings from the Dark Side~

I want to share with you the Night Look from the ELF Disney Maleficent Palette. I followed the directions from the palette but it didn't really turn out the way I wanted it to. I think I would have used the colors a bit differently on my own. I will probably re-do this look without using the instructions from the palette.

Haul: ELF Disney Villains Palettes

I said I was going to try not to haul anymore makeup...but this is an exception!!! I am a huge Disney fan, especially a huge fan of Sleeping Beauty/Maleficent. When I heard about the ELF Villains collection, I knew I HAD to get my hands on them. I kept seeing them on blogs, but I had no luck finding these at all. I only have one Walgreens close to me, and I kept stalking it to see if these palettes would magically appear. Sadly, they were not appearing in the store. After many days of trying to find these, I gave up. But I knew if I missed out on these, I would regret it. I am a beauty blogger after all!

I decided to give it a last go and call the second nearest Walgreens to me, which happens to be in the Sacramento area (Natomas specifically). If you live around that area, you might want to check the Walgreens in Del Paso Road. Anyways, I called them up and to my surprise, they did have them in-store. I asked them if they could hold one of each for me and did! I was so ecstatic!

Here is the best part (well, at least for you!): not only did I pick up three of these for me, but I also picked up three extra to giveaway! Woohoo! So expect to see a giveaway on these pretty soon ;) Anyways, here is a super quick show of the palettes. I will be swatching them and doing eye looks tomorrow.

EOTD: Gilded Goth

Greetings friends!

If you have seen any of my looks, you might see a pattern. I love both very dark and very bright eye looks. I am particularly fond of smokey eyes because they look super badass. This can be traced back to my high school days when I only wore black eyeliner and black eyeshadow. This look is inspired by those Gothic makeup days. But instead of keeping this a plain black smokey eye, I went for a black smokey eye with a slight twist!

This Gilded Goth eye goes from a dark, matte black and fades into a shimmery dark grey. In the inner corners, there is a pigmented gold eyeshadow to bring something lighter and brighter to this dark look. This look is great for a rock concert, a fun night out, or maybe even for a Halloween look!

I will be doing a FOTD with this look soon so you can see what else I pair with this look :D

Life Update

Hello darlings!

I know many of you don't really care what is going on in my life, and you are here for the makeup. But it is important to update you once in a while with what is going on in my life that might prevent me from posting makeup reviews and looks.

As my summer vacation draws to an end, I am again bombarded with the stress that accompanies the start of a new school year. If you are new to my blog you might not know much about me or what I do. I am just about to start my fourth (and hopefully last) year of my university education. This year is going to be incredibly busy for me! Here is a small list of what I hope to accomplish this year academically:

1. Get good grades and pass all of my classes!
2. Apply to graduate school.
3. Do a good job at both of my internships.
4. Graduate and earn my baccalaureate degree.
5. Read as much as I can in my spare time.

Basically, since this is my last year, I have to do extremely good in order to have a really great GPA for graduate school. Graduate school usually only look at the last 60 (or sometimes 90) units you took. So it is very important that I do really well in this last 45ish units that I take this year. I am also doing two internships right now. One is a paid job with a publishing press and the other is non-paid internship at my old high school. I am interning for an English teacher and it is really fun to help in his classes. Lastly, since I want to apply for graduate school, I am really busy looking up various schools and seeing where I would like to go to.

Besides all this school stuff, I am also really busy with another major part of my life: concerts! I am a huge rock music fan! My all time favorite bands are System of a Down and Metallica. I go to so many concerts every year. I actually just came back from a The Used concert. I go to at least one concert every month. I have two concerts (maybe even three) planned for October and November: Alesana, Pierce the Veil/Sleeping With Sirens, and maybe Chiodos. I always go to Sacramento or San Francisco for concerts. These are always so much fun because I go with my best friends and we just have such a good time.

Of course, I will always make time for blogging. I love blogging and I love all of you awesome people! Just a quick heads up though; if I start to lack in my posts then you can just assume that I am either studying, working, or moshing it up at a concert ;) Either that or watching anime or playing video games :D

For any of you who stuck this long with me, thanks and see you next time!

Review: L'oreal Project Runway 'The Queen's Gaze' Eyeshadow Quad

Have any of you purchased anything from the L'oreal Project Runway collection? I hauled quite a few things and one of those is the The Queen's Gaze eyeshadow quad. I can't remember how much the palette was since I bought all my items at BOGO 50% off and I also had a $10 off coupon.

Packaging

The palette comes in a sturdy, thin compact. It comes with a small rather useless sponge tip applicator.

A Song of Ice and Fire Series: House Stark

Greetings from The Dark Side!

"Winter Is Coming."

Classic motto of House Stark of Winterfell, the noble family of the North. If you have read the series or watched Game of Thrones, then you will certainly be familiar with the Starks. Not only do they have badass direwolfs, but they also have the best motto, in my opinion.
The Stark Sigil: A grey direwolf on an ice-white field.

For this look I used white and grey as my main colors (since they are the sigil colors). But I also used a more dramatic eyeliner to represent the edgy-ness and harshness of the Starks, and a bit of a frosty blue to represent the coldness of Winterfell. The lips are a red stain. Cold often makes your lips red, but I thought this would be appropriate for the Starks because of their direwolfs. The direwolfs are often shown defending their masters and this means that they attack/maul an attacker/enemy. Their snouts are then covered in blood. The red lip shows this ^_^ That TOTALLY did not sound creepy at all >_<"

Tutorial: Autumn Glam (Ft. Glamour Doll Eyes)

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Tutorial time! I received some Glamour Doll Eyes eyeshadows to try out and I decided to make a Fall inspired tutorial using some of the colors!~ I really loved how this came out! I hope you like it as well :)

Haul + First Impression: Illamasqua Generation Q Collection

Welcome once more to the Dark Side~

I can't tell you just how excited I am to show you this haul! I also feel like a hypocrite for saying things like, "oh, I haul too much! I have to stop buying makeup". And what do I do right away? Haul more makeup! Geez. It's an endless cycle. But regardless of my personal dilemmas, I think you will all appreciate some pictures and swatches of a new collection~ Illamasqua Generation Q was for me the most exciting fall release. I adore Illamasqua with all my makeup-loving heart.

Look at this model for the collection!
Isn't she stunning?! If I look this beautiful at her age I will be so happy!

Spotted: L'oreal Project Runway 2012

Hey everyone!

I wanted to give you the heads up that the new L'oreal Project Runway collection is already in stores. I've been stalking my local drugstores, and I literally just came back from Rite Aid and they had the collection. I did haul a few things, which I will show you briefly along with some quick swatches. I am probably going back for 2-3 more items though (I also have a $10 off coupon for Rite Aid and a BOGO 50% sale is going on rite now!). There is a lot to choose from in this collection: brights, neutrals, shimmers, eyeliners, and nail polishes! There is something for everyone.
I don't want to do a proper haul + first impressions until I have everything I want from this collection. In the mean time I will leave you with a few pictures of things I already bought.

Tutorial: Aqua Sands

Hello everyone!

Today I want to share this look using three CUICU eyeshadows that were sent to me by KKCenterhk. This is a blue and brown look. Quick tip: if you want to make blue eyeshadow more wearable, then pair it with browns! Brown eyeshadow really tones down the brightness of the blue.I will have a review of these eyeshadows soon. Enjoy the tutorial~!

Yes, here is another HARE polish~ This one is called 'The Sky Was Pink'. You can check out HARE polishes HERE.

FOTD and EOTD: Maybelline 'Sea Sprite' Palette

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Following up with the posts I've done using the stuff from the Maybelline Fall 2012 collection that I purchased, I wanted to dedicate a post to the Sea Sprite palette. The Sea Sprite palette is the most "colorful" product from the collection. It deviates from the earthy/neutral tones. Instead it is a green and gold palette, to which I was attracted to because I love golds and greens with my brown eyes. But unfortunately, it ended up being a little disappointing.

Haul + First Impression: Inglot

Hello!~

This is really exciting for me! My very first Inglot purchase ever!I have been lagging this post because of one thing which I will get into more in my first impression. But for now, let me show you what I purchased! Oh and just FYI, the closest Inglot store to me is in Las Vegas, but there is a counter in San Francisco too. I decided to order online because of the 20% off sale in August.

Inglot 3-pan palette
I decided to get the 3-pan instead of the 4 or 5 pan one because I wanted something compact that I can carry around easier.

TATCHA Skin Care: 4 Week Update

Greetings from the Dark Side!

If you have not heard of TATCHA skin care either from me or from other bloggers, you have been missing out. I did a post four weeks ago of a first impression of the TATCHA skin care line. Today it has been four weeks since I started using it and I wanted to give you guys a bit of an update. This is NOT a review. I still want to give these products abit more time. For more information on the products go either to my First Impression post or to the TATCHA website.

UPDATE

Here are all the products that I am using:

HARE Polish 'Afterglow'

Greetings from the Dark Side!
Sorry for not having any posts in the last couple days, but I went camping over the weekend~ It was really fun! It was so nice to be out, away from my computer and just relaxing in the outdoors.

Now that I'm back to my usual routine, I want to share with you some of my most recently purchased HAREs. I love HARE polishes so much! They are all amazing! This one is by far one of my favorites and it is called 'Afterglow'.

Afterglow is a medium-toned blue jelly with loads of orange, purple, and pink glitters. The base looks dark, but it is still bright! It is so weird, a bright dark-sih blue! It looks really lovely.
Like all other HAREs I've shown, this is only two coats of the polish on its own with a top coat.

Finally, my tattoo healed up. It peeled a lot though and the colors look very washed out, so I have to get it re-touched again! Bah! I just wanted to show you how it looks now before I touch it up again this week~ Also, my wrist is angled weirdly. The tattoo is not crooked! Lol, it is just my wrist being in a weird position.

Dark Side Tips: How to Use Maybelline Color Tattoos

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I can't tell you guys just how much I have been loving the Maybelline Color Tattoo eyeshadows! I think they are such phenomenal eyeshadows. They are by far the best cream shadows I have ever used. They get even better because they are easily available to me for a very great price ($5-$6). After showing you the four new Maybelline Color Tattoos that are a part of the Fall 2012 Collection I received some questions about the Color Tattoos so I decided to make a quick post on them. Today I want to show you how you can maximize the use of your Color Tattoos (or any other cream eyeshadow). They are not only great as eyeshadow bases for powder eyeshadows, but they also make amazing eyeliners and they work great on their own!

1. Eyeshadow Bases
Here is an example of using the Color Tattoos as eyeshadow bases. For this look, I used 'Fierce & Tangy' as a base for my orange eyehshadows. This made the eyeshadows stay in place all day as well as helped to make the eyeshadows more vibrant.

FOTD: Hypnotizing Violets

Greetings from the Dark Side :)
How are you all? I hope you all had a great weekend! I personally enjoyed this long three day Labor Day weekend~
A huge shout out to one of my best friends, Jackie! Happy 21st Birthday ♥ I love you!

If you were not aware, purple is my absolutely favorite color! Followed by black and red :) My room is purple, most of my clothes are purple, part of my hair is purple, and anything purple catches my attention. So of course I am completely obsessed with purple makeup. This includes eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip glosses, blushes, eyeliners, you name it. And now that my hair is brighter, I think purple looks even better. I am sure many of you would disagree, and you probably think I look like a complete psychopath, but that's okay too xD So I want to share this purple eye makeup I've been doing a lot lately. I love how it looks and it is actually not too difficult to do. I can do a tutorial if any of you would like me to, but for the mean time I will just post these FOTD pictures

HARE Polish 'Magic Mist'

Hello again! I am happy to bring you some more HARE polishes! I made an order on Llarowe to get some more of the sold out HARE polishes. This one was actually not part of that order, but I received it at the same time (I had made a separate order on the HARE etsy page). I am really obsessed with these nail polishes @_@ Nikole is a freaking nail polish genius! I can''t wait to get more. But I am more than grateful for the ones I have now. This next one is called Magic Mist.

Magic Mist is a bright lavender base with lots of glitters. It has darker purple square glitters, pink, purple and red circle glitters,  and smaller blue square glitters. Pretty much, it is a a fun glitter party in a bottle!

*two coats of Magic Mist
*Excuse my very untidy and gross nails!
