EOTD: Gilded Goth

Greetings friends!

If you have seen any of my looks, you might see a pattern. I love both very dark and very bright eye looks. I am particularly fond of smokey eyes because they look super badass. This can be traced back to my high school days when I only wore black eyeliner and black eyeshadow. This look is inspired by those Gothic makeup days. But instead of keeping this a plain black smokey eye, I went for a black smokey eye with a slight twist!

This Gilded Goth eye goes from a dark, matte black and fades into a shimmery dark grey. In the inner corners, there is a pigmented gold eyeshadow to bring something lighter and brighter to this dark look. This look is great for a rock concert, a fun night out, or maybe even for a Halloween look!

I will be doing a FOTD with this look soon so you can see what else I pair with this look :D

Return of the Look: Princess Zelda

Greetings from The Dark Side~

Welcome to my second installment of Return of the Look. Today's post is about one of my Legend of Zelda looks that I really loved: the Princess Zelda inspired look. This is really soft, girly, and has both some brightness and subtlety. You can see my original post HERE. I used the same color placement, and some of the same products, but I wanted to make it neater and...well...just better.

Products Used

Eyes
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette (Midnight 15 and Chased)
-Lime Crime D'Antoinette Palette (Royal Flush and Ribbonesque)
-Maybelline Color Tattoo 'Tenacious Teal' Eyeshadow
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics 'Lightsaber' Eyeshadow
-Prestige My Longest Lashes mascara
-Ardell 'Wispies' Lashes
 Face & Lips
-Revlon Whipped Foundation in 150 Buff
-MAC 'Coygirl' Blush
-MAC 'Whisper of Gilt' Highlighter
-Jordana 'Lily Rose' Matte Lipstick

Princess Zelda

*Sorry for the out of focus shots. The Lashes are really long and they make my camera tweek out.

-Urban Decay 'Chased' ( a bright gold) in the inner corner
-Urban Decay 'Midnight 15 (a beige-silver) on the lid and on the brow bone
-A mix of Lime Crime's Royal Flush (pastel pink) and Ribbonesque (pastel lilac) on the crease/outer v
-Tenacious Teal (bright aqua) and Lightsaber (bright blue) on the lower lash line

If you elongate the upper lash line a touch more, and maybe made the bright blue more subtle, it would be great for cosplaying Zelda. She is very royal, graceful, and really just beautiful!

Hope you enjoyed! See you next time :)

January Favorites

How insane! January is almost over and yet again it is time to do a monthly favorites. It is not yet the end, but close enough. I have been ridiculously busy, so I should just plan ahead of time :D

1.Reviva Labs Makeup Primer
I LOOVE this primer so much! This is my second bottle (I just recently finished my first bottle and bought 2 back ups). I always have to apply this before applying my BB cream. It definitely helps the application of foundation and it makes the foundation last a little longer. The best thing is that it doesn't break me out and that it is actually worth buying and using.

2. Lioele Triple the Solution BB Cream (I need to do an updated review of this foundation)
I started using this again after I finished my Skin79 Oriental BB Cream, and although I now prefer the Skin79 one, this is still a really great BB Cream. It has a heavier coverage than the Skin79 BB cream and is a little more beige toned. I definitely love it enough to purchase it again, but I am still at odds as which of the two I would repurchase first.  @_@

3. NARS Danmari Palette (Sin)
I have had this palette for over a month now, and I can say without a doubt that my favorite color is Sin. I thought it might be too dark for me, but it really isn't. I don't own any full size NARS blushes, but I had imagined that the colors would be a little more pigmented. I can't say for sure, but regardless, I am in love with Sin. I have practically used it all month. It is such a great winter color! For swatches, go HERE.
(I used it in my Psychotic Galactic Empress look).

4. Chanel Illusion D'Ombre eyeshadow in 'Mirifique'
I haven't had this for long, but I am totally in love with it. It is such an amazing color, I mean just look at the sparkles *~* It also doesn't crease or smudge throughout the day!

5. Wet n Wild 'Petal Pusher' Palette
Although I love the entire palette, I have mostly only been using two of the colors in the palette: the right "Eyelid" and "Crease" colors. The "Eyelid" shade is a really gorgeous purple with copper shimmer, and the "Crease" color is a dark purple with purple shimmer. To see swatches go HERE and to see an eye look using this palette go HERE.

6. Gold Eyeshadows (especially Chase from the UD 15th Anniversary Palette)
I mentioned that I have been loving gold eyeshadows. My favorite right now is Chase, which is SUPER pigmented and just a really lovely gold =3

7. Jordana Matte Lipstick in Lily Rose
I <333 this~ Not only is it a beautiful mauve/purple/pink, but it also has a great matte formula. Another great thing is that it costs less that $3! This color actually reminds me a lot of Revlon's Pink Pout matte lipstick, but this one is slightly more purple.

What are your favorites for this month?

Psychotic Galactic Empress

Hii ♥
Sorry for my lack of daily posts! I hope I can make it up with this post~ This is more "editorial" since many of you wouldn't wear this much makeup. This look was really random; I was just randomly aplying colors on my lid, but then I saw it going somewhere and it eventually turned out to be this! That is also why I don't have  a picture tutorial, but I hope you like it anyways!

I imagine, if I ruled the universe, I would do my makeup a little something like this...
Alas! How unfortunate. A girl can only dream of being a space queen!

Products Used (Eyes)

-Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette (Blackout, Evidence, Omen, and Deep End, Vanilla)
-Tarina Tarantino Odyssey Starchild Palette (the pigmented silver)
-Wet n Wild white eyeliner pencil
-Dolly Wink liquid liner
-L'oreal Mascara
-KKCenterhk ES A855 Lashes
This is off focus, but it shows the iridescence of the colors~ Pretty!

How to Achieve this Look (hope it isn't too confusing...)
1. Using an angled brush, use a matte black to  line the upper lash line and make a defined wing.  I only went half ways into the upper lash line to emphasize the wing. (I started from the middle and made the wing outwards, so I didn't line the inner half of the upper lash line)
2.Apply a silver shadow on the lid up to the crease and in the inner corners (avoid messing up the black line we made in step #1)
3.Apply a dark navy shade on the crease.
4.Take a lighter, iridescent purple and apply it above the dark navy. Blend the colors slightly.
5.Apply a highlight shade on the brow bone. I chose a sparkling white gold.
6.Apply the same dark navy on the lower lash line (avoiding the inner corner where the silver shade should be) Make sure to apply a generous amount and to smudge the color slightly.
7.Apply a bright teal on the outer 1/3 of the lash liner (below the dark navy)
8. Apply mascara, liner, and lashes. (I only applied a thin line of liquid liner to mask the false lashes)

FOTD
I must surely apologize for my unruly hair before hand. I was way too lazy to do anything with it. This is what my hair looks like when it dries naturally after washing it ;P I think it added a "psycho" effect to the look xD

Products Used (Face)
-Reviva Labs Face Primer
-Liole Triple the Solution BB Cream
-NARS Sin Blush (From the Danmari Palette)
-Lime Crime 'No She Didn't' Lipstick

More Wearable Approach...
Don't wear the blue lipstick. It hardly suits me, so I prefer this look without the blue lippie.  But for the sake of it being an editorial look, I had to include some pictures with the blue lipstick. Plus, the blue lips practically scream "Space Queen!"

Or Another Alternative Perhaps?
I also tweaked the blue lips a little. Instead of having full on blue lips, I added a bit of the same silver eyeshadow I used on my eyes to the center of my lips, as well as the navy color on the outer parts of my lips.

 I see you...

I had so much fun taking pictures for this look! I really enjoyed altering a random application of eyeshadows into an actual look!~ I would totally wear this to a sci-fi convention. Heck I already wore black lipstick while grocery shopping, why not take this look while running some errands? That would be a sight!

What do you think of this look? Would you wear the eye makeup? Blue lipstick? Both?

FOTD: Transition Metals and Amethyst Lips

Hii Lovelies!
I have been lacking in posts/comments and for that I am truly sorry. School has been so busy and I will not be free until next Wednesday. The little free time I do have has been dedicated to Skyrim. I am beyond obsessed with Skyrim @_@.

Anyways I have a FOTD that I have been loving. I already did a post of this a very similar FOTD before, but I have seriously loved this look! I have worn it so much this month, which is very odd for me since I don't tend to wear the same eye looks very often. You can see how to do the eye look HERE.
I also paired this look with a purple lip. In this case, I have been loving the Autralis lipstick in 'Limited Edition 1'. I absolutely love this lipstick!!! To all my Aussie bloggers, do you guys know if this color is still available?

*This is what I wore to Thanksgiving, in case you were wondering ;)

The above picture is me wearing only a little bit of the lipstick. Then, below, I wearing it completely opaque. Sorry for the lighting, but it is really dark outside and if I don't use flash, the pictures are way too dark.

Just a quick post to keep you updated on whats going on with me. I hope you all have a good day, and I will be back to my regular posting once I am done with finals ;)

The Legend of Zelda Series: Zelda from Skyward Sword

I want it to be Sunday, November 20th already. If you didn't know, the new Legend of Zelda game comes out! It is said to be the best Zelda game thus far, even better than Ocarina of Time. I thought that was completely insane at first but now I am starting to think might be true. In order to celebrate the release of this new epic game, I wanted to do a look based on Zelda (woot, another Zelda look). Zelda is not a princess in Skyward Sword, unlike in all the other games. She seems very lively, energetic, and fun! She is very different from the usual Princess Zelda.

This is the picture I based the look on.
She wears a lot more pink, has bright blue, and very colorful accessories.

And here is my look. I will tell you I wasn't happy with how it came out. In the photos, it looks very unblended. In real person it didn't look like that, so I am not sure what happened. But I couldn't re-do the look because of time restrictions. I think you guys have the idea of what it looks like though!

Fyrinnae EOTD: Steam Punk

Hello ^_~ Thank you all for your thoughts and comments on my Rant on Racism :D I learned a lot from all of you and I truly appreciate that you guys took the time to read it!

Following my Fyrinnae series, here is a look using two of the colors that were released with the Halloween collection. This look is a little different, and not something I would usually wear. But I thought it was an interesting and weird mix!

EOTD: Alien Eye

Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing great~
Just a little update: I won't be posting any Halloween looks since I won't be dressing up this year. It is kind of sad, but I have been really busy with school and other things. I went to a concert last night that was totally insane. I have several bruises and I am so tired today. But it was really fun! I had a chance to meet and greet with the band Alesana. It was amazing. We took pictures with them and got posters signed by them. I will mostly likely make a  post about that later ;)

This EOTD was something I did because I was really bored. I didn't really have a plan on what I was doing, it kind of just happened. I thought it looked crazy, but I am still posting it!

The Legend of Zelda Series: Princess Zelda

Hello loves.
Today is my birthday and I had so much fun! I want to thank my friends for all the lovely messages and words ♥
I have been slacking off on my Zelda looks, but I finally manged to proceed with the series.
I am going to be frank. I didn't completely love this look. I mean, I liked the look, but not as an inspired look for Princess Zelda. I felt it was lacking the element of grandeur and elegance that Princess Zelda has. But either ways, I am posting it, and I will mostly likely be attempting another Princess Zelda look.

Here is the inspirational picture. This is Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess. Isn't she gorgeous?!
And seriously, if you don't know who Zelda is...I would be speechless.
I loved Princess Zelda in Twilight Princess. She was so gentle, calm, serene, and extremely composed. She had the quality of a ruler and a true princess. She was definitely shown to be extremely wise, as of course she would be since she carries the Triforce of Wisdom.

EOTD: Starry Night

For those nights when the stars have decided to hide, you can create your own starry sky on your eyes.

Took this photo in my backyard last night. I thought it looked so cool. No stars though :(

Review: Love Alpha Frozen Jelly Eye Colors

Hii Lovely Reader!

If you have been following my blog for a while, you might remember a post I did about the Love Alpha Copper Frozen Jelly Eye Color (Ooh what a long name!). If you haven't go check it out  for more information on the packaging of these eye colors :)
KKCenterhk has kindly provided me three more of these "frozen jellies" to review.

#05 Light Blue ($3.48) is a sheer minty, icy blue with LOADS of blue, purple, and pink shimmer. I love the color because it looks like it could really be frozen and cold! It is a very unique color and I have really enjoyed it. Also, this one had the best formula and consistency. It was the easiest to use out of all three.
#07 Orange ($3.48) is a sheered, bright orange with tons of gold and yellow-orange shimmers. I like this one, but I don't see myself using it very often.
#09 Purple ($3.48) is pink toned purple with pink, blue, and purple shimmers. This was shockingly my least favorite. I love purple, but the consistency of this one was the hardest to work with.

Product Review
In general, these jellies are very fun to use. The consistency is a little like hair gel, but it is not sticky at all. They go on sheer for the part, so they perform better over powder eyeshadows. The bad thing about these though is that they can crease if you don't apply them correctly. What I do is to pat them gently in with my finger, and let it dry before I move my lid. If you crease your lid before it dries, the the jelly will also crease. So just make sure you give it a minute or so to dry. Other than that, I have no problems with these. The purple one was the thinnest in formula, so it was harder to apply, but that might just be that I got a bad batch.
Light Blue, Purple, and Orange Frozen Jellies. You can see the size of the jar is decent.
Light Blue~ So petty!
Swatches of Light Blue, Purple, and Orange. I personally love Light Blue the best!

Light Blue ~ (I will be doing a separate post on this look because I liked it a lot :D)

After applying it:
I only applied it on the center of my lid
Orange~

Purple~

Verdict:
I really love Light Blue! It is a gorgeous color with just amazing shimmer. Orange it also pretty, but I don't think I will use it often. Purple also looks really gorgeous, but it is a slight pain to use so I will use it when I know I have time to actually apply it. These are very affordable, at only $3.48 per jar! These are very interesting to work with as well, since they have such a unique jelly-like texture (which is not sticky).

I am not going to rate these because they all performed a little differently, but I recommend these to people who love to work with unusual products and who love shimmer!Check them out on KKCenterhk~

ALSO, If you want a separate post on any of the other two looks, please leave a comment below :)
Thank you for reading.
