Haul and Swatches: Hard Candy 03/9/11

Has anyone else being loving Hard Candy? I have been impressed by a lot of their recent products. If you guys have not checked out Hard Candy, seriously go to Wal Mart and go see for yourself. I wish Hard Candy sold products on their website though...

I purchased three things:
[From Right to Left]Nail polish in 'Beetle,' Fox in a Box Blush in 'Smooth Talker,'  lipgloss in 'Vanilla.'

Beetle Nail Polish:  very similar to MAC's 'Mean & Green.' It is a green/gold/pink duochrome. I have MAC 'Mean & Green' and although they are super similar there are some differences.'Beetle' is actually more pigmented than 'Mean & Green' and the glitter is more condensed. It is less glittery than 'M&G', so it is easier to remove. For $5, it was a good deal. If you wanted 'M&G', and you could not get it [it sold out rather quickly] this is a exactly the same, if not better.

Can you see how it changes color? I have it on my thumb nail, so you can sort of see the duochrome.

Next is the lipgloss. I was immediately drawn to this because of the awesome flaky looking glitter. The lipgloss itself is huge. It smells like vanilla. Yum.  This was $5 or $6, I cannot remember.

It was hard to capture the light reflecting flaky glitter in this. It is really beautiful. The flakes are purple and orange.

Last is the blush.

Isn't it cute?
It comes with a really crappy brush, but its cute.
This reminds me of a Benefit blush, the one that is also 4 colors.
Peach, lavender, light pink, and pink colors
This is the lightest blush out of all the Fox in a Box blushes. It is a really cute pink when you mix all the colors. You can also use each color separately if you wish. I tried to swatch this, but the colors are so light that they wont come up on my hand at all. It comes up on my cheeks, but on my hand it does not! WTF?
Anyways, if you like natural looking blushes or really light colored blushes, check this out. It was $6, so it is really affordable.

FOTD: Eyes of March #3 [03/12/2011]

Just a quick face of the day. Mostly for the eyes though. This is not exactly an "everyday" look, but I like to have fun with colors once in a while. I was going to out anyways, so I decided to do a bolder look.
And before you ask, yes I am wearing a shirt, haha. I am wearing a strapless shirt...

What I used for the eyes:
~Rock & Republic eyeshadow in 'Alloy' on the entire lid, extending it to the inner corner and slightly past the crease.
~Rock & Republic eyeshadow in 'Scorch' on the outer corner, blending it further in along the lid and crease.
~Apply 'Scorch' on the lower lash line, about 3/4 of it, not going all the way to the inner corner
~Apply liquid liner, I used L'oreal's Lineur Intense [My favorite]
~Apply mascara, I used a sample of a YSL mascara, I'm not sure which one it is...

That is all I used for the eyes, I did not use a highlighter on the brown bone or anything like that, I was in a hurry. I have a review on the Rock & Republic Eyeshadows here.

Here you can see it better.

Products I used on my face and lips:
~Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream
~MAC 'Trace Gold' Blush
~Estee Lauder Blush in 'Peach Ombre' [I am in <3 with this blush, and actually the eye look reminds me of this blush. You will see what I mean. Look at the picture below.]
~MAC Creamsheen Lipstick in 'Ever Hip'

Most of the products I used. I forgot the BB cream and MAC blush

YSL mascara, Peach Nuance blush

Ughh, ignore my hair. I showered and didn't do anything with it.

As always, thanks for reading~

Swatches: Rock & Republic Eye Shadows

Well, hello there! I am super excited to show you swatches of the Rock&Republic products I purchased during the Haute Look event. I reeeeally wanted some of their blushes, but they were sold out :( Oh well, next time.

This is the box each eye shadow comes in. Pretty fancy, eh?
These are the actual eye shadows, very fancy looking and sturdy.
Here are the five colors.

[Sorry, you cannot really see Alloy, it was cut off a little]

Tempting: This is a very greyed purple color, but it has a very subtle burgundy touch. You can't really tell, but it is there. The camera made it look slightly more grey than it really is. It also has a very subtle, yet beautiful shimmer.
Scorch: a coppery orange shade. The picture is accurate in color. This also has a subtle shimmer.
Snakeskin: An olive green/brown with subtle shimmer. The pictures of the shadow in the pan are accurate, but the swatch looks more brown than it really it. It has more olive tones than brown, and its a very complex and lovely color. I do not own anything else that looks like this.
Vintage: A matte, medium toned brown that has a complex depth to it. It looks like a typical matte brown, but has a complexity to it that the camera does not capture very well. This is great for contouring, transitioning, or anything else you want to use it for.
Alloy: A light golden amber with a great sheen. In the pan, it looks much more coppery, but when you apply it, it is more gold. It reminds me a lot of MAC's 'Melon' pigment. Except, this is much smoother, and easier to apply. The pictures do not do this any justice. It is gorgeous!

Texture:There are all extremely smooth and pigmented. 'Snakeskin' was the sheerest, but it was not too sheer. The formula is great, and there is not much fallout.

Price and Availability: Haute Look has many R&R sales, and for a really cheap price. I got these at $8 each. But, on the actual Rock & Republic site, there isn't many colors or products to choose from, and these are expensive at retail price. These are $28 each if you pay retail.

I really love these so far, but honestly, I would not pay $28 for each. If I buy more R&R, it will be on Haute Look for sure.

Review: Tokidoki Robbery Palette Part 3

Part 3: Dark Palette

This is part 3 to my Tokidoki Robbery Palette review. This palette consists of the darker colors as well as the darkest blush. I will just go ahead and say that is my favorite of the the three. It has the more unique colors, and I love the blush. Onto the pictures:
You can see the entire palette
The four eyeshadows
The blush in Polpettina
This palette consists of:
~Liberty: A satin dark green, with a slight hint of turquoise. It is not shimmery, but it has that really sheeny appearance.
~Bullets: As the name suggests, it is a very pigmented silver, slight blue-ish tint to the silver.
~LA Gun: Similar to Liberty, but instead of being dark green with a touch of turquoise, it is a dark greyish blue with a touch of green. It also has that sheen.
~Adios: matte black. I guess I overlooked the fact that there is one matte color, but it is the only one.
~Polpettina: A bright rose blush, with small amounts of silver glitter. This one too has the glitter, but it is much less obvious than the momobella blush. I really like the color, although I would not use it if I had a dark smokey eye since it is quite bright.

PROS:
~Liberty and LA Gun are unique colors
~Bullets is really pigmented
~They all have a silky texture
~It has a matte color
~None of these colors are too shimmery or glittery. They have a nice satin sheen
~The blush is a really gorgeous color

CONS:
~Liberty and LA Gun are a little sheer, so you have to built up the color
~The matte black seems like a waste, I wish it were a more unique color
~The blush has glitter

Swatches:
[From Left to Right]: Liberty, Bullets, LA Gun, Adios

I just turned my hand around, to see if  the colors would show up better
Polpettina Blush
Can you tell that it has glitter?

I love this palette, as well as the neutral one. I am quite impartial to the second palette, but overall it was worth the money. I hope you guys enjoyed this and found it helpful!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Review: Tokidoki Robbery Palette Part 2

Part 2: Bright Palette

Hello again! This is the second part of my Tokidoki palette review. This is the palette that has the most bright and fun colors. You have a green, an blues, as well as a very fun blush! So onto the picture:

This palette contains:
~ Soya: Shimmery line green Has a very nice sheen. ['Soya' is spanish for 'Soy' and soy is green! Hihihi]
~Candy Cane: A shimmery white, also has a very nice sheen. [It is reminiscent of the white of a candy cane]
~Ninja Dog: Sheer cobalt blue. It has small glittery particles. [Sheerest color of the entire palette]
~Meteo: Satin finish, navy blue. This is the closest to 'matte' that we get in the three palette. It is not matte though, it still has a shine. Similar to MAC satin finish.
~Momobella: peachy pink, with gold glitter. Yes, I said glitter. Not shimmer, they are glitter particles. This was almost like a NARS Orgasm dupe, but the glitter killed it. If it has been very fine shimmer, it would have been really similar to Orgasm.
[I think that this was named because 'momo'「桃」 is peach in Japanese and 'bella' meaning beauty. So a peach beauty? Hmm.]

Swatches:
[Left to Right]: Soya, Candy Cane, Ninja Dog, Meteo
[Left to Right]: Soya, Candy Cane, Ninja Dog, Meteo
Momobella
Momobella. Can you see the glitter?

I am not even going to bother doing PROS and CONS. I like the eyeshadows, except fot Ninja Dog since it is really sheer. The blush was a fail. I do not want glitter on my cheeks. If you blend it out really good, the glitter will not show up, but it takes too much time. This was my least favorite palette of the three that come in the tin.

Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for Part 3!
