FOTD: Eyes of March #2

Hi hi Everyone! This is today's "Eyes of March!" I used two palletes, one new, and the other, not so new. I hope you enjoy~ Pardon how dark the pictures looks, it been dark all day and I took these pictures when it started get even darker outside.
Ignore my hair too...I have been studying all day and I just decided to go buy some stuff, but didn't care for doing my hair. D:
Here is the look. Its a smokey neutral look.
I used the new Wet N Wild 8 pan palette in 'Comfort Zone' and the 6 pan
palette in 'Vanity'

Wet N Wild 8 pan palette 'Comfort Zone'

~I used the bottom right color on my entire lid and slightly past the crease. It is a brown/red/bluish duochrome. Amazing color. I also applied this along the lower lash line, but only the outer 2/3rds.
~Then I used the color above it, which is a shimmer dark brownish green color and used a fluffy blending brush to add that color to my outer 'V' and blended it in slightly
~Next, from the 'Vanity' palette, I used a light brown matte color and applied it above my crease. This will help blend the colors and it will also contour the eye.
~From the 'Vanity' palette, I used a matte beige color and applied it above the brown color, along the brown bone to highlight.
~I then applied a thin line of liquid liner on my upper lash line and winged it out slightly.
~Using the same dark brown green shadow I used on my outer 'V,' apply it where you applied the liquid liner, this will soften the harsh line.
~Lastly apply mascara. I also applied the Tokidoki green colored mascara on my lower lashes.

In summary:

Face:
~Lioele Triple the Solution BB cream
~Estee Lauder Blush in Peach Nuance
~LORAC liquid highlighter in L1 Pearl

Lips:
~MAC Lustre lipstick in 'Made To Order' [burnt coral color]
I went for this color, because I used a peachy, coral-y blush. Also, I tried a nude color, but it really washed me out, and coral colors really brighten my complexion. And it really pops!

Haha~ I was swatching some of the eyeshadows on my hand, and I forgot about it.
Thanks for reading! Have great day!

Haul and First Thoughts: Lime Crime

Lipstick she is wearing: Airborne Unicorn

Greetings fellow makeup lovers~ I bring you an overdue haul from Lime Crime. I actually bought this during the Valentine's Day sale, so I have had it for a while now, but I wanted to share it with you all anyways.
I know there is a lot of negative comments concerning Lime Crime cosmetics, but I do not like to judge companies by other people's opinions, unless I myself have had a bad experience with them.
I also know many people do not want to purchase Lime Crime because it is expensive, and many people think you can buy something similar for a lower price.
I agree that the cosmetics are pricey, and although there are other dupes for the colors, I had an overall positive experience with Lime Crime.
*Remember, these are all my honest thoughts, I was not paid or compensated for any of this. I purchased the products with my own, hard-earned money.

Shipping and Delivery

Firstly, lets talk about shipping and delivery. Everything came in a cute, turquoise box. I received my order within 4 days of ordering it. That is a pretty good shipping time. The price for shipping was free :)

Here is the box. I took the tape off, so the box looks a little ripped off.
The inside with all the goodies. It came wrapped in tissue paper, but I took it off so you could see the products.

Packaging
Some people will love the packaging, others will hate it. It comes in a pink box with a holographic unicorn on it. I am sure you can see from the pictures.

Here is everything. 1 lipstick and 7 magic eye dusts. I love the packaging, even if it looks very childish.
Here is the lipstick in the color "Airborne Unicorn"

This is how it looks in the tube.
It is a very purple pink color. Similar to MAC Lavender Whip. [I will do a comparison separately]
Quick swatch of the color on my hand.
My first impression:
I heard a lot of bad things about the LM lipsticks, but I really love this one. I cannot speak too much for the lipsticks, since I only own this one, but I really like it. I believe they have been reformulated, though so maybe that is why the formula is better.
Magic Eye Dust. Again, I like the packaging. It is really cute.

Cupcake Thief. My second favorite from the bunch. The Lime Crime site's description:
"If you look closely, you can tell a Cupcake Thief apart from other people. They have a satisfied look on their face, some leftover icing on their fingers, and sometimes even sprinkles in their hair. Some have a greedy look on their face, and are convinced they’ll die if they don’t eat a cupcake now."
I love the description.
Here is what it looks like. It looks very matte and blah in the container, but when you apply it, is leaves a shimmery, iridescent pink color. Its nice as an overall lid color, or a as a highlight.
First row(L to R): Dragon Scales, Medusa, Twilight
Second Row (L to R): Siren, Nymph, Empress
First Row:  Dragon Scales, Medusa, Twilight
Dragon Scales: A reddish brown with a blue duo chrome. My favorite one!It leans toward the red side more than brown, and the blue duo chrome is a little more turquoise than actual blue.
Medusa: very blackened, dark green with green shimmer. Although it is pretty, I thought it was going to be more green. Instead it is very black. Kind of disappointed, but it is pretty.
Twilight: Light, dusty lavender with pink and purple shimmer. I love the color of this, I just wish it was a little more pigmented and that the shimmer was slightly more obvious. I love the name "Twilight" for this, but then it reminds me of the Twilight series, which I personally do not like...at all.
 Second Row: Siren, Nymph, Empress
Siren: Vibrant red, with red shimmer and a slight gold sheen. This shade is very metallic looking. Which makes it look even more amazing. This one also looks better if you apply it foiled [applied wet]. It is hard to find true reds, and this is a true, metallic red. One thing though, depending on your skin tone, it might give off a slight coppery undertone. On me it does not, but on my fried is coppery.
Nymph: Looks white in the container, but when applied it is a white gold color. I  think this is such a beautiful color, especially for highlighting. But, there are many colors out there that are really similar. I don't own any, but I have seen some.
Empress: A bright purple with pink and purple shimmer. I thought this was going to be my favorite, but it was the most disappointing of all. The color is beautiful, but it was not opaque and it went on like a hazy, grayed purple. Once applied, it lost the pretty shimmer, too. I do not know if I got a bad batch, or if it I'm not applying it right, but it did not work for me at all.
Empress, again.
Product
Overall, there were some great finds. 'Airborne Unicorn' is a definite keeper, as well as Dragon Scales and Cupcake Thief. The other ones, with the exception of Medusa and Empress, I also liked a lot, but I would probably not repurchase. I don't think I would run out of them anytime soon, though. If I did repurchase, I would wait for a sale to buy them :D

Price and Amount
Lipsticks: retail $16 for 3.2g of product
Pigments: retail $14 for 2g of product
For the price, you do not get much product for the Magic Eye Dusts.

I cannot say anything bad about Lime Crime. I found things I liked and things I disliked. But that can be said about just any company. I think that if you want to buy from Lime Crime, you can, and if you don't want to, then don't. It all comes down to your personal opinion. I have heard a lot of negative rumors, but that is all that they are: rumors. Like I said before, I cannot by my own first hand experience say anything bad about Lime Crime. I mentioned that I disliked two of their pigments, but that is only my opinion and not a solid fact. I can say that I dislike some MAC products, but that does not mean that MAC does not have great products, because they do have many amazing cosmetics. I am by no means promoting Lime Crime or telling you to buy them. I am merely showing you what I have purchased and giving you some information on these products. One reason why I show Lime Crime very often is not because if the actual products, but because I love one thing about Lime Crime: that they promote bright and very bold makeup. I love the tutorials on the Lime Crime website too.

I hope you guys found this helpful and thanks for reading <3

FOTD: Eyes of March #1

I was inspired by fellow bloggers to complete a challenge. This challenge is called the "Eyes of March," and basically you are supposed to do different eye looks everyday using different eyeshadows. This way, you will use eyeshadows you don't normally use and you also get to experiment with ones you already use. I was inspired to do this look today, and I was also really bored. I was just doing a random makeup look, and I took some pictures, but you can't really see the eye shadows too much. I will post this as my first look either ways. I hope you enjoy my creepy pictures.
Oh and I will also post the link to the awesome blogger who started the challenge:
http://cutiegingerbread.blogspot.com/2011/03/eyes-of-march-march-1st.html
This look was inspired by a sort of creepy, lifeless doll look. I was reeeally bored, so yeah...

Haha, this one looks really creepy.
Putting on blush... :D I love my blush <3
My dog scared the beejezees out of me. I was home alone and he decided to pop in on me when I was about to take the picture. I thought it looked funny. ;D
 This is what I used:
EYES:
L'oreal HIP pigment on my entire lid.
MAC Color 3 Quad. Used the dark purple on the outer portion of my lower lash line using Tokidoki liner brush.
CoverGirl lash blast fusion mascara
L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid eyeliner on the upper lash line

CHEEKS:
MAC Pink Swoon blush <3
Tokidoki Blush Brush
L'oreal pigment in Exiting as my highlight along my cheekbones, down my nose, and on the cupid's bow

LIPS:
MAC Viva Glam Gaga

FACE: Lioele's Triple the Solution BB creme using the BeautyBlender

Look at this beautiful mirror! It is a Hello Kitty mirror that I bought at Japan Town in SF. It is sooo cute~
It has HK in a kimono under a Sakura tree with petals falling down. I <3 it. My favorite mirror. EVER.

That's all for today, thanks for reading!

Will you join the challenge?

February Geeky Favorites 2011

Greetings fellow Geeks, or perhaps a normal person! I bring you my favorites of this month relating to books, games, anime, and manga!
Just a word of warning, I just might geek out during this post, I am excited for some things coming up soon...

Books: Some books that have really caught my interest this month:
~"The Metamorphosis"  by Franz Kafka [Actually, not a book, but a short story] Really great story. It is not that long, so easily readable. Some people might find this to be an odd story; its about a man waking up one morning and realizing that he turned into an insect. But his biggest worry is not the cause of his transformation, but instead how he is going to get to work since he missed the early train...

~"Berenice" by Edgar Allen Poe [Another short story] One of Poe's most violent piece of literature. If you read it, you will see why. Edgar Allen Poe is one of my favorite writers, his work is so gruesome, dark,  gothic, and just amazing. This story is really short, but it tells the story of a man, that could be seen as slightly mentally perturbed, who does something pretty grotesque. I will leave it at that :D

~The Tale of Genji [源氏物語] by Murasaki Shikibu [式部紫] This is a Japanese novel, said to be the first novel ever written. It was made around  the 1000's. It is a super long book of 54 chapters and over 1000 pages. I finally managed to finish this book, and I must say it is a book that you MUST read sometime in your life. The book does not have a real plot. It centers around two main characters and the people around them. There are many love affairs, love triangles, deaths, supernatural devices, and a lot more. It is a novel based around Japanese poetry [Tanka, I believe] and around the Japanese aristrocracy. It is a great book, very hard to read since it can be very ambiguous and obviously is translated and is written in old styled Japanese. A Masterpiece of a literature, none the less.

Video Games: I have not really played too many video games recently, but the ones I have I have loved.

~Dead Space, Dead Space 2. Freaky ass games. These are one of the scariest, but coolest, games I have seen. The level of suspense really makes the game even scarier. The exploding babies are creepy. Like seriously. If you have played this, you know what I mean.
Creepy, right?

~Marvel Vs Capcom 3. I have been playing this recently and I like it a lot. One reason: it has Amaterasu
[ 天照] from Okami [おおかみ], which is one of my favorite games. Also, it has Morrigan from DeathStalkers, Dante and Trish from Devil May Cry, and of course I love using Chun Li.
Dante and Trish

Since we are talking games...I am super excited for Portal 2 [My precious] as well as [hopefully it IS coming out this year] the Legend of Zelda: Skywards Sword. I love all the Zelda games, and I hope this one will not disappoint.

Anime and Manga: I am a huuuuge anime and manga fan, so I should mention a couple, right?
Anime [アニメ]
~Naruto: Finally no freaking fillers. I am a huge Naruto fan, and although the anime fillers sometime suck ass, I still love seeing the parts that come up on the manga, especially the fights.

~Devil May Cry: Based on the games. It is really short, but its actually really good. If you like the games, check the anime out. It does not follow the plot of the games, though.

~Aoi Bungaku [青い文学 "Blue Literature"] This anime is based on well known Japanese myths and stories. They are really creepy and some are really gory. It is fairly short, but I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Manga [マンガ]

~Naruto: I am really loving the manga right now, it is getting really  interesting! On another note, what is up with Bleach? It is weird right now...

~Skip Beat: This is made more for the girl audience since it is much more romantic. The plot is slow moving, but amusing none the less.

~Nana: I love this manga [the anime too]. It is silly, funny, yet depressing! It is a much more realistic manga [it shows thing that can happen in real life.Ex: break ups, death, friendship, love, unwanted pregnancy, messed up things that happen in real life.], and you can really relate to some of the characters. I love the music and fashion seen on here. Its overall a great story.

This was really long!! But I hope you enjoyed this and thank you for reading ^_^
Any books, games, or anime/manga that you love and recommend? I would appreciate some recommendations!
So, what are you Geeky Favs?

February Makeup Favorites 2011

I hope everyone had a marvelous February. I personally did not. There is only two more weeks left for this quarter, and I am swamped with term papers left and right, essays, homework, study sessions, discussions and preparations for my final examinations. Whew. Its tough. But of course I had one tiny sliver of light within all the madness of school work . I had makeup and other stuff to brighten up this month, which I will now share with you all.

MAKEUP: There a couple of products that have remained consistent for a couple of months, but this is my first favorites post so I will go through all the items I used excessively this month.

Foundation: I have to say that my favorite this month is definitely Lioele's Triple the solution BB cream. I had two posts on this so please check those out for more information. Overall, this has really worked for me lately. Great coverage. Long Lasting. Period.

Concealer: My favorite concealer for a while now has been the Kat Von D tattoo concealer. I have had this for about one year, and there is still tooons of product left. Its creamy, has great coverage, and blends easily. Great bang for your buck.

Powder: Honestly, I don't really wear powder. It makes my skin look really patchy. If I use any, I use the MAC Prep and Prime Translucent powder only on my nose. I have combination skin and get slightly oily on my nose, so I only powder my nose.

Blush: This one is difficult...I have a lot of blushes that I love. But, I guess I will have to go with MAC Coygirl. This is a really nice purple-pink blush. And the best part is that is it permanent. Besides Coygirl, I have been using MAC Oh So Fair beauty powder from the MAC Venomous Villains Collection. It is a light peachy pink color. It really brightens up my complexion, so I like using it when I want a more natural look.

Eyeshadow: L'oreal H.I.P pigment in 102 EXCITING~ I freaking love this <3333 I have been using this for the last week straight. It is a white-pink pigment with a beautiful pink duo-chrome. I know there is similar colors, but I particularly love this one. I also like using it as a highlight on my cheek bones and on my cupid's bow.

Eye Liner: L'oreal Lineaur Intense liquid eyeliner. I have used up three tubes, and I am on my fourth. What else can I say? <3

Mascara:  Covergirl's Lash Blast Fusion. Works well on my lashes. And oddly enough, the purple tube makes me like it even more. I'm a sucker for anything purple. =3

Lipstick: Illamasqua Lipstick in Underworld. It's a pink-purple with and amazing blue duo chrome. Goodness!
Expensive, but well worth it for me.

Lipgloss: MAC KissableLipcolor in Flaunt it. Its a medium toned mauve color. A little on the dark side for my skin color [Hehe, unintentional pun]. I still really like it though, it gives me a darker, slightly gothic look. Limited Edition :( Oh and the Revlon lipgloss in Lilac Pastel as well.

Brushes and Applicators: I have been using the BeautyBlender for my foundation [Love this stupid little sponge. Why does it work so much better than a normal sponge???Whyyyyyy? Damn you evil overpriced, evilly pink, and amazing sponge!! ]. The Tokidoki blush brush for blush. MAC 109 for highlighter or contouring.

Hmm, I thinks that is that is all for makeup.Yup! I hope you enjoyed this. ^_^
So, what are your Feb Favs?

~Yami <3

Review: Tokidoki Gelato Lip Balm Stain

Hello lovelies<3
Yes, I bring you another Tokidoki product! These are pretty recent, I have only had them for about two weeks. I had been hoping that Tokidoki would come out with lip products, and although I would have preferred lipsticks, I fell in <3 with these~

PROS:
~Like all other Tokidoki product: packaging FTW. Uber fantastic. Cute to the MAX~
~Very moisturizing
~Great color payoff
~Stains your lips, but when your ready for change, you can easily remove the color from your lips
~smell great
~Each color has different pictures on the packaging (I like that)
~Only $9

CONS:
~The only thing I can think of is that the packaging might be a little flimsy, and if you drop it hard enough, the cap could break.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY:
$9 at Sephora stores and Sephora.com
http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P279610&categoryId=C22300

I have this in the colors:
~Donutella (Described as a sheer coral strawberry stain by Sephora)
~Skeletrina (Described as a sheer grape stain by Sephora)
[Awesome names, right?]
Donutella (Left), Skeletrina (Right)
Donutella

The other side of the Donutella cap

 Skeletrina
Other side of the Skeletrina cap

Initial swatch
Swatch, 30 seconds later

The first picture is the initial swatch, and the picture below is the same swatch but about 30 seconds later. Can you see that the colors are darker and more vibrant? That is because they are stains, so the color intensifies after it has been applied.

Overall Thoughts:

I'm really impressed with these. Why, you might ask? Well, I have extremely dry lips, and these moisturize my lips without skimping out on color payoff. I was expecting these to be drying, since they are lip stains. But, they are a lip stain AND lip balm all in one. Fantastic, nee?
