Greetings from the Dark Side ^_^
Here's another workplace FOTD (hint: I've been working a lot lately!). Most jobs require you to have very conservative attire and makeup, but I noticed that many women in my workplace tend to wear very bold lip colors. However, if they do wear bold lip colors, they will always wear very muted eye makeup. I have worn bold lip colors like this in the past: very bold lips and very subtle eyes/cheeks. I decided to try this at work today and it worked very well, particularly because I wear glasses at work. I used Wet n Wild Fergie 'Ferguson Crest Cabernet' lipstick with only mascara on my eyes.

For all of you who have conservative jobs, would you wear this to work? Or is it too much? On another note, this Wet n Wild shade is perfect for Fall/Winter!

I totally get that. I usually stick to nudes/pinks too. But I like to try things out ;)
DeleteI work in a legal office and wear red, plum, or vivid pinks on a daily basis. My go to is red no matter the season. I work in a very corporate office but I honestly don't see the harm in wearing bold lipstick. Then again I wear tights with prints with a lot of my dresses...so I'm the black sheep of the firm!
ReplyDeleteHaha, nice! I suppose it depends where you work. Some bosses/supervisors are more uptight than others. But really good for you! I love it when people break the rules ever so slightly :D
DeleteI'm the bold-lips-in-the-office lady! I look a little crazy if I do bold color on the eyes but any sassy chick can rock a bold lip and still look professional :D

ReplyDeleteI get that. I worked in a farmer's marker a few years ago and I don't think I would have ever work a bold lip color there.

DeleteI think with the right shade of red, bold lipstick can be very office appropriate. This look is very pretty and professional to my eye. I either goes with neutral eyes and bolder lipstick or the opposite if I actually bother to put on makeup for the office.
