Greetings from the Dark Side!
I am excited to show you guys something kind of different, not something I would usually do. Makeup is fun, and it is always interesting to try new methods of application. Scotch tape is one of those tools that can be so handy when being creative with makeup. I used tape to create this "rifted" eye look, meaning that there is a gap in the middle of the lid. I was inspired by futuristic/sci fi looks. Of course, this is not something typical or something that you might wear in your everyday life, but it is edgy and different. Let me know what you think~ :)
I think I want to experiment a little more with using tape in makeup looks! It is really fun! Definitely give it a try~

Products Used
-scotch tape
-Shiro Cosmetics 'Eye Contact' (reddish pink)
-Shiro Cosmetics 'Vine Whip' (Green)
-Shiro Comsetics 'Oshus' (Blue)
-Shiro Cosmetics 'Shaymin' (coral)
-Maybelline Illegal Length mascara
-UD 24/7 pencil liner 'Perversion'
How To Achieve This Look
- Take a piece of scotch tape and apply it from the outer corner of the eye all the way upwards towards the eyebrow. Make sure to remove some of the sticky-ness before applying it near your eye area.
- Take a second piece of scotch tape and cut it in half vertically to get a thinner piece. This thinner piece will be applied on the center of the lid diagonally, this will make the gap in the center.
- Once the tape is applied, now you can go ahead and apply eyeshadows.
- Apply 'Eye Contact' on the lid and inner corner.
- Then, take 'Vine Whip' and apply it on the crease and blend, blend, blend.
- Once the green is blended, take 'Oshus' and apply it only in the outer V, and blend it very well.
- After the colors are well blended, now you can removed the tape. Remove it carefully. You will notice that the tape has create sharp and clean edges.
- I didn't know what to do for the lower lash line, so I applied 'Shaymin' a light coral on the entire lower lash line.
- Apply mascara and black liner on the water line.

ReplyDeleteWeird! o: Looks really awesome and futuristic though. Love the colours.
ReplyDeleteI like this. Super cute! =]
ReplyDeleteI don't like the idea of putting tape on my eyes, though. I'm super nervous about accidentally getting it on my lashes, or eyebrows and losing some hair or even eyelid skin. Paranoia! xD
You achieve an awesome look!
ReplyDeletewoah, this is soo pretty! I love shiro cosmetics x)
ReplyDeleteThis look is definitely not for the faint-of-heart to wear outside on a normal day, but I bet it would be awesome on a runway or some other similar performance-type situation! :D
ReplyDeleteVery creative, Nancy! I think I'd probably wear something like this during the day. :P
