Hi gorgeous readers!
I am back with a second attempt at a Link inspired look. If you see my first post (Link Look #1) you will notice that I was very displeased with the way it turned out. I seem to be having some difficulty with a Link look! Link is the main character, he is the Hero of Time and here I am having the most difficult time getting a look that is satisfyingly Link-like.
This second attempt...well...I like it, but I am still not content. It still lacks something that makes me go: "Ah, yes this reminds me of Link!". Regardless, I will show you the look, and for the time being I am going to move on until I feel more inspired to re-try making a third Link look!
I sort of have two versions of this look. This one:
Then this one, which I had added a wing on the spur of the moment, but I ended up removing it at the end:
1. Start this look by applying your primer/base. Optionally, you can also apply a piece of scotch tape on the outer corner of the eye to get a very sharp line.
2. Take an angled brush and apply a matte black shade from the outer part of the lash line outwards creating a wing. Then continue the line onto the crease. I used the matte black from the WnW Greed palette.
3. With a crease brush, apply a golden/bronze brown over the black. I used NARS Mekong, and I only applied a small amount.
4. With the same brush, start to blend the black and brown.
5. Now that the brown is blended, apply a forest green on the rest of the lid, leaving the inner corner free. The green I used is MAC Humid eyeshadow.
7. Remove the piece of scotch tape. Then apply a white eyeliner on the waterline and on the lash line.
Apply a bright blue on half of the lower lash line.
I used MAC Electric Eel eyeshadow.
The blue is supposed to represent Link's blue eyes/shield and sword, but I probably should have chosen a darker blue.
8. This is where it gets weird. Apply the same green (Humid) on the rest of the lower lash line. As you can see, this is where I created a wing. I ended up removing it later, so bear with me.

6.Blend Humid slightly close to the inner corner. Then apply a matte yellow on the inner corner. Blend slightly to transition the yellow into the green. I used MAC Chrome Yellow eyeshadow.
The yellow represents Links blonde hair.
Apply a bright blue on half of the lower lash line.
I used MAC Electric Eel eyeshadow.

9. Apply liquid liner. Then after that you can apply mascara and lashes. You are done ~

DeleteIt's a pretty look, but maybe you need a brighter shade of green to channel Link?
ReplyDeleteYes I agree. I can't seem to find that right shade of green!
DeleteNARS Mekong looks absolutely stunning and I like that wing that you removed, it does add a little something (:
ReplyDeleteYes it is! And I only used the smallest dab of it.
