Return of the Look: The Light at the End of the Tunnel (Ft. Wet n Wild)

Greetings from the Dark Side!

In case you didn't know, my "Return of the Look" series is a series where I go back to my older looks and re-create them again either a bit differently, or with different products. That being said, do you remember this look? You can see the original post HERE. It is one of the looks that is on the header of my blog (the top left one) and I constantly receive questions about it. I have also received requests to re-do this look with different products and with more gold than black. I want to give a quick shout out to Sonia from Red Lips, Black Hair who was the first to request this look! I hope you like it :)

This rendition is actually very quick (took me 5 minutes for both eyes), uses minimal products, and is affordable to re-create yourself.

                                                                        Products Used
-Wet n Wild Megalast Retractable Eyeliner in 'Blackest Black'
-Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Single in 'Panther'
-Fyrinnae 'Book of the Dead' Eyeshadow
-Prestige My Blackest Lashes Mascara

-Kat Von D Lock It Foundation
-Wet n Wild MegaGlow in 'Catwalk Pink' (as a blush and contour)
-Wet n Wild #901B 'Think Pink' MegaLast Lipstick

                                                                              Tutorial

1. Start off by priming you eyes. I just used my foundation as a base for my eye makeup. I don't recommend this, but I was being lazy to look for my eye primer ;D

2. With a black pencil eyeliner, map out the areas of your eye that you want to be black. Leave a blank space for the part where you will place your gold eyeshadow.
I used the Wet n Wild Megalast Retractable Eyeliner in 'Blackest Black'.

3. With a small  brush, apply a matte black eyeshadow over the areas you put the black eyeliner.  focus on the most outer and inner parts of your eyelid.
I used the Wet n Wild Eyeshadow Single in 'Panther'.

4. With a slightly damp flat brush, apply a gilded gold eyeshadow on the entire center of the lid. apply as much as you want or as little as you want.
I used Fyrinnae's 'Book of the Dead' loose eyeshadow.

5.With the same brush, start to soften the edge of the gold by blending the edge into the black ever so slightly. You can make it as harsh or as blended as you wish.

6. Going back to the eyeliner, apply it on the waterline.

7.With the same matte black eyeshadow you used, apply it all along the lower lash line.

8. With another smaller damp brush, apply the same gold color on the center of the lower lash line.

9. Lastly, apply mascara.

The eyes are dramatic, so go for a nude lip and a subtle blush. I used the Wet n Wild MegaGlow in 'Catwalk Pink' and the Wet n Wild #901B lipstick.

Thank you for reading ♥ And until next time!
If you have any requests for this series, please let me know.

  2. Recreating a past look and tweaking it up a little is an excellent idea. It adds more variety to looks you've done before. :)

This look is very stunning and edgy. I love how black meets gold. It's very eye-catching. The gold between the black liner/shadow and how the black fades and blends next to it gives the whole look a chrome effect.

Looking forward to more Return of the Look posts. :)

  6. I came by accident here and tried on myself and was afraid it would be too much for daily make up, but I have to tell you, this is THE eyeshadow/make up tutorial!

Is the only tutorial I found that makes my eyes really strong and shine, I have very dark eyes and very big but they look usually sweet/sad/very weak feature, specially because of glasses, but this concept made them WOW, I have no words to thank you for this idea! I look like another woman. I would never have thought of it. Thank so much you have lovely ideas! :)
