First Impression: Per-fekt Brow Perfection Gel

Hello lovely readers!
As someone with naturally thick eyebrows, I always find it difficult to tame the those bushy caterpillars. They look better once I have plucked and cleaned them up, but they always tend to stay out of place. On a recent trip to Sephora, this product caught my attention. This Per-fekt Brow Perfection Gel claims to "condition and tame busy eyebrows without leaving them stiff, flaking or fading". I was intrigued by a clear gel that would not only serve to condition my eyebrows, but also make them look  neater. It also says that you can use this on its own or as a seal for any eyebrow powders/pencils/gels you use. Let's see how well this actually works!

This product comes in a lime green tube, pretty much exactly like a mascara. When you open it up, you can see it is exactly like a mascara because the applicator is a mascara wand! This is a convenient form of packaging because it makes it really easy to brush the product on the eyebrows. I actually really like that it is a bright, loud, green! It makes it easy to spot in a makeup bag or on an extremely messy desk *ahem*

Now let's test it out on my bushy caterpillars eyebrows!

1. I am starting out with eyebrows free of any product. As you can see, I have a hard time getting my eyebrows to stay in place.

2. Then, I use the Per-fekt Brow Perfection Gel to tidy up my eyebrows. I just ran the want through my eyebrows. My eyebrows are staying in place!

3. If course, you always have the option to fill them eyebrows in. Here I used my MAC 266 brush to lightly apply some eyebrow powder. After that, I used the Brow Perfection Gel on top to smooth everything out and to seal the eyebrow powder in.

                                                                      Result and Comparison
Here is a comparison of my eyebrow with the brow powder and gel versus the other eyebrow without anything. I also have on the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser on the left side.  To be fair, I think the side without the gel is a bit crazier than the other side naturally. But still, you can see how much a difference it makes in the overall appearance.

After using this a few times, I have concluded that it is a good product. It does what it says it will do, which is to tame my eyebrows. It keeps them looking neater without making them look stiff or weird. If you use it over a brow powder/pencil/gel it will help to keep the product in place all day. However, it is not smudge proof so if you rub on your eyebrow, some color will smear off. For the price though, I feel a bit hesitant to say that this is a "must-have". I definitely love having something like this on hand, but if I have to spend $22 every time I need a new tube I think I would want to find something a bit cheaper. I can't be certain yet, though. If this tube lasts me a long time, then $22 won't be too bad. However, if I run out after only a month or two, then it will be too expensive to keep my busy caterpillars looking more groomed.

Have you tried this or any other brow gels before?

  1. I'm not sure if they even still sell it, but have you ever tried clear mascara for your brows?

    1. I haven't, and I haven't seen that in drugstores for ages. Next time I go into a drugstore, I will have to check!

  2. this looks fine not that white lager one

  3. another awesome product! I too have crazy, unmanageable eyebrows. this really is per-fekt!

    1. Haha that is pun-tastic! We girls with unmanageable eyebrows must stick together!

  4. You have nice brows with nothing in, but they do look slightly neater with the product in.

    1. Thank you. I tend not to do anything to them unless I am going out or have somewhere special to go xD
