Review: Wet n Wild Fergie 'Rose Parade' Palette

 Greetings from the Dark Side!

                                                                       Product Description
This is a new palette from the Wet n Wild Fergie line. It has 5 colors in a slim and lightweight compact. It also comes with a dual-sided sponge-tip applicator. 'Rose Parade' leans towards the pink-toned eyeshadow range. It has a lavender with gold shimmer, a pale blue-toned pink, a shimmery black, a brighter blue-toned pink, and a pink-toned dark purple.

PROS:
-affordable
-easy to travel with
-smooth texture
-it includes both dark and light colors
-overall better quality than previous Fergie palettes
-the five colors in the palette go together very well; I managed to make quite a great look from the palette, even though they are all pink-toned
-the five colors can create a very wearable pink look
CONS:
-not as pigmented as the Wet n Wild ColorIcon eyeshadows
-slightly difficult to work with (the two purple shades did not want to show up very well)
-the light pink does not go on the lids the same way it swatches, it ends up looking more like a matte pink-toned white
-the darker purple is a little patchy

If you are interested in this palette just for the purples, I would suggest you skip it because the purples are the worst thing about this palette. The pinks are a lot better because they are nicely pigmented and wearable. The light pink isn't super pigmented, but isn't really meant to; I find that it is a great brow highlight shade for pink or purple eye looks. The purples are more pigmented if you use a primer or colored base under them, but you could probably find some better purples out there (other Wet n Wild palettes have some pretty awesome purple eyeshadows for about the same price!)

However, if you want this palette to use all the colors together, then it would be worth your money. I love the look I created using all 5 shades; the result is a very wearable pink look. Because I found a way to incorporate all 5 eyeshadows into one look that I would actually wear, I believe that this palette is worth the $5 (or $3.49 in my case) it cost.

Rose Parade is a really convenient way to get your pink-fix under a budget. For those of you who don't have a lot of money to spend and are looking for an easy way to get a bright and quirky eye makeup look, definitely pick this palette up before it's gone (it's Limited Edition).

  1. Oooh, I absolutely love this colour combination! And somehow the palette reminds me of a Dior palette at first glance, lol~

  2. Aaah, the last three swatched look so pretty. Too bad the palette seems like a big bummer.
