Review + EOTD: Australis IntensifEYE 'The Big Smoke' Palette

Hello Darlings!~ How are you all doing?

You might recall the swap I did with Suzanne from Don't You Know Who I am? from a while back. I have been using the products she sent me and the one thing I have noticed is that my favorite products where the Australis products. Of course, Australis is an Australian brand and thus is unavailable to me T_T

But I am very happy to have been able to try some of the products! Thanks Suzanne!

The Big Smoke Palette comes with four eyeshadows: satin white, satin cement grey, a dark navy with a grey undertone, and a black with silver sparkles.

My two favorites colors are the grey and blue!

Packaging
A great quality, durable compact. The design is very practical and simple. It comes with a long, double ended sponge tip applicator which is nice if you don't have any brushes with you.

Product Review
My favorite thing about these shadows is that they are super smooth and very blendable. You can build the color up easily and still blend it out effortlessly. But, they can be a little sheer and patchy if you are not careful. Because they blend so easily, it is also easy to  over blend and loose pigmentation.
I love the finish of the first three colors; they have a really awesome satin finish. The only shimmery one is the black, but its not overly shimmery.
The shadows are really smooth, but I don't get much fallout which is great!

PROS:
~Smooth with no/minimal fallout
~Easy to blend
~Great finish; subtle shimmers
~Durable and practical packaging
CONS:
~Easy to over blend
~Pigmentation could be better
~Not available to most people

Swatches
 These look a little more shimmery in the photo than they do in real life. But they do have a fantastic subtle shimmer and a beautiful sheen~ My absolute favorite color is the dark, grey-blue color. I did have to layer the color twice to get a better color payoff.

Verdict
Overall, I think this is a great palette; great colors in a practical compact. Very comparable to higher end shadows in my opinion. I think the CONS are outweighed by the PROS! If you get a chance to try these colors, definitely do it!

Recommend? Yup! If you are lucky enough to have this brand available to you, try these palettes out!

EOTD

This picture might be familiar~ This is the look I wore when I reviewed the KKCenterhk A188 bottom lashes. I used this palette to do the eye look~

~Cement grey from Australis palette on the lid
~Grey-blue from Australis palette on the crease and lower lash line
~Black from Australis palette on the outer V
~MAC 'Lark About' pigment on my inner corner
~L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
~Maybelline The Falsies mascara
~some really used KKCenterhk lashes that I cut to make demi lashes. Ignore how gross they look. I needed to throw them out already.
~KKCenterhk A188 bottom lashes

Notice that the colors are semi-sheer. I could have made them more pigmented, but I wanted to try a softer look.

NOTD: Layering Fun!

A while ago, I saw an amazing post on Dizzy Nails (Original Post HERE). Go check out her post on it; her pictures are amazing!She says that it was a manicure that was inspired by some girls on the MUA boards. When I saw her take on it, I was floored!! It was such an amazing combo, I literally had to do my nails right away!~
It was so amazing because I actually owned all the colors she used! The colors include:

~Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear 'Purple Pizazz'
~OPI 'Last Friday'
~Clarins 230

Here is how mine came out:


How to Achieve this Look


1. Apply one or two coats of Sally Hansen Purple Pizazz.
I applied two, but I think one may be better. This is a gorgous purple jelly with red shimmers.

One coat

2 coats

2. Apply one coat of OPI Last Friday.
Of course, you can use another glitter if you don't have this one. Just make sure it's a sparse glitter and that the base color is very sheer. This glitter works great because the glitters are a little chunky, but not too big.

3. Apply one more coat of Purple Pizazz
This will incorporate the glitter into the the polish, making it look like the glitter was part of the purple polish. If you wish you can stop here, because it actually looks really beautiful already!

4. Apply one coat of Clarins 230. Then apply a top coat.

Misa 'It's You!'

Misa is a fairly new nail polish brand to me. I purchased two colors a while back, but I never got the chance to swatch them. This was the more interesting of the two colors I bought, and I already wish Misa was more widely available for purchase T_T

Misa It's You! is a shimmery dark grey/dark green/purple multi chrome polish. It has a distinctive smokey quality which makes it great as a fall color!

Price and Availability

Formula
The formula was...normal? Haha. I didn't find it thick, watery, or anything like that. It wasn't sheer or opaque. It was a 2-3 coat polish, so yeah fairly normal. It dried...normally? Again, it didn't dry super fast, but it didn't take ages for it to dry either.

The main color is this dark shimmery green.

The polish has a very smokey appearance.

It was very hard to capture the purple shimmer, but here is the closest I got.

Verdict
The color is very cool and unique. It is smokey, fun, and interesting. The formula is  good and the bottle is simply gorgeous. A definite keeper <3

Sinful Colors 'Pink'

Helloo~

Sinful Colors 'Pink' is a new color that just came out recently. It is a matte, neon pink with red and orange undertones. In the bottle it looks like a standard highlighter pink, but once applied the orange tone really pops.

Price and Availability
$1.99 at drugstores. I purchased mine at Rite Aid. This will be in a limited edition display.

Formula
This is a matte, so it is best to apply a top coat for a shiny finish. I personally don't like matte polishes, but if you like them then you can leave it as is.
This was semi-sheer, and I needed 3 coats for full opacity. It wore very well though, and I have no chipping for the week that I wore it.
It was also slightly watery, but not too much.

Verdict
The formula isn't the best, but the color is sooo cool. It changes tones depending on lighting, and it goes from a nean pink with orange undertones, to a more neon orange color. See also that by adding a top coat, it looks like a jelly~ Great bright color!

Rating: 7.5/10
Recommend? Maybe, if you like bright colors. If you don't, stay away from this! This is really bright!!

Review: Neo Dali Extra Violet Circle Lenses

Hello~ Nice to meet you! My name is 'Circle Lense Noob' here to share with you my experience with my second pair of circle lenses~♥

If you have followed by blog, you might remember my first circle lenses review of the Princess Mimi Chocolate Brown lenses. Honestly, I hardly wear them. They just feel so...unnatural on me. I feel that when I wear them, I can suck the soul out of any living creature.
Also, they are not as comfortable as I hoped.

Neo Dali Extra Violet are a different story though~

Comfort and Wearability (Is that even a word??)
I can wear these without discomfort, and they look much more natural in person than the Princess Mimi ones. Albeit, these look fake when photographed, but in person they look more wearable.
I can wear these for about 4-6 hrs without discomfort, but I would advise using eye drops either ways. I don't wear contacts for more that 4 hours normally, and I do not advise wearing circle lenses for an extended period of time.

Color
I love the subtle violet color! If you know me, then you would know I love the color purple! ♥
And this is violet with a slight brown color on the outside. The violet is very subtle, and it does not look extremely fake.

Below, you can see the difference with and without the lens. Sorry for the messy makeup, but I was just about to remove my makeup and I decided to take a picture at the last minute. It's crazy how different it looks!

Oh my! I look crazy here. The things I do for you, my dear readers!

I was wearing the lenses in the picture below. It is hard to tell, but you can see that my eye/pupil looks a lot bigger than normal. Then again, my eyes are sooo dark. It's hard to see my pupil sometimes.

Verdict:
I actually really love these. It was hard for me to get the hang of circle lenses, but these are so comfy!~ I love the color as well. I have more difficulty applying and removing these compared to the Princess Mimi ones, but the comfort really makes up for it.

Recommend? If you like the color, and you want something comfortable, then I totally recommend these!~

Sanrio FOTD: My Melody and Kuromi

As the tittle of my blog might suggest, I love anything dark, gothic...and Star Wars related! But even a geeky, rocker girl has a soft spot for some girly things. And I must admit that I have a huge soft spot for cute things.

This look is inspired by the Japanese Sanrio characters, My Melody and Kuromi! They are my favorite Sanrio characters and I am totally obsessed with them~

 

Kuromi is the black one, and I feel she is the more typical me: dark, rock chic, but not completely evil. Kuromi's signature colors are usually black and purple, and sometimes pink.

My Melody is all cute and pink. I usually hate the color pink, but she is just too cute.Melody's signature colors are pink and red.

I wanted to keep this more "cute", so I went with purple for Kuromi and pink for My Melody.

*There are some really annoying mascara bits on my lid. Excusez moi!

*You might notice that I dyed my hair. It is like a really dark brown, even though I dyed it with L'oreal's Bright Black dye. @_@ *Confused* And I look...tanner? WTF?! I think it's because my hair is not completely black, and my ColorStay is slightly too dark for me.

The Lipstick Compendium: MAC 'Violetta' Lipstick

Yup, another MAC lipstick. Hooray! (or not...whichever you choose)

*Here is a little fact about my lipstick collection: 60% of it is MAC. Why? Because MAC lipsticks come in a range of different colors, finishes, and they are reasonably priced. Also, the B2M program is awesome because for every 6 empty MAC products you take back to the MAC store, you get one free item. I personally love to B2M for new lippies.

MAC 'Violetta' is a bright purple toned fuchsia with slight blue and purple micro shimmer.
It is an Amplified finish, my favorite ♥ ! Smooth, creamy, and very opaque in color.
It is a PRO color so you can purchase it from MAC PRO stores. I have the one in the Maleficent packaging! She is my favorite Disney villain!I know for a fact that this color will be re-promoted with a new collection coming out in September.So if you like it, but don't want to order from MAC pro, you can wait until then :D


Products Used
~NYX lip liner 'Purple Rain' ($2-$4)
~MAC Violetta lipstick  ($14, but I think the special packaged Disney one was $15)
~H.I.P 'Arresting' liquid lipcolor ($2 at my local Railey's)

Most of the blue shimmers come from the H.I.P. lipgloss, and also the lipgloss is a slightly more of a darker fuchsia and less purple toned than Violetta. Also, notice that the lip combo looks really magenta on my lips, compared to how it swatches on my hand.

 

Verdict

Love this color! I wish it was a little more purple, but on my skin tone it shows up way more fuchsia. After removal, this lipstick leaves a really nice stain on the lips! I love it. It is a really pretty and chic color; perfect for a girl's night out, a party, or wherever you want. 

My only complaint is that it tends to move around on my lips a little. And again, I wished it was more purple.

Rating: 8.5/10

Recommend? Yes! If you want a fun, bold color, this is definitely something to check out. I recommend this to people who want to try a purple lipstick but don't want something too purple.

 *I keep forgetting to take a picture of just the lipstick on my lips. But I will do it next time @_@
