Review: TATCHA Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask

Greetings from the Dark Side!~

One of my greatest discoveries of 2012 was TATCHA skin care, and I am happy to say that I will be continuing to use and try out more of their products this year. 2013 literally started with me using their Luminous Deep Hydration Lifting Mask. After the clock stroke midnight and I went home, I used this luxurious mask to hydrate my dry skin. Lately, my skin has been extremely dry, flaky, and overall just not as great as it had been the past two months.

Keep in mind that this is a face mask, and thus I am judging it on solely one use. For me, a mask should deliver results immediately. I personally don't see masks as a long-term skin care products, but rather a short-term and short-lasting boost for the skin. I like to use masks right before special occasions to make my skin to look particularly hydrated, supple, and radiant. If you want to know what I think of this face mask, keep reading~

                                                                         Description
TACHA says: "The unique coconut-derived biocellulose mask, developed originally to speed healing for burn victims, forms an occlusive layer on the skin that enables 53% deeper penetration vs. paper masks."
This mask is unlike any other face mask I have ever used. I am used to sheet masks, but this is an incredibly effective mask. Basically, the mask itself is covered on both sides by a thin mesh material. You peel off one side of the mesh, apply the gel mask onto the face, and finally peel off the second side of the mesh material. What you are left with is a smooth layer of gel that sits super comfortably on top of the skin. This not only feels so much better on the skin than a regular sheet mask, but I think it is more effective at hydrating.
                                                                   Price and Availability

                                                                       Product In Action
...And let me look completely terrifying with the mask on! Hehe. You wouldn't want to see me standing next to your bed while wearing this mask!

You can see that my skin is no where near perfect. I have a lot of acne scars, dark circles, and all that kind of stuff.

                                                                                  Review
After using this mask for 15 minutes and massaging the excess product on my skin, I can say my skin definitely looked and felt more hydrated and supple. My skin just felt incredibly refreshed. This mask would be so perfect to use the night before, or the morning before, a big event. The day after using this mask, my skin was noticeable brighter and better-looking. But of course, the effects of the mask wore of in two days or so, so don't expect your skin to be radically different by using a face mask once.

I recommend these to have handy as a boost of hydration, firmness, and brightness for the skin for an upcoming special event. These are also great for you who lead busy lives and need a moment of self-pampering and relaxation!

Although I can't say that this mask was life-altering, it is a fantastic product! And who knows, maybe if you used this mask more often (maybe like once a month or twice a month), it might make a difference in the moisture levels of those like me who have dry skin. It also didn't break me out or cause any negative effects so that is a huge plus for me since so many products make my skin break out.

The only bad point I can see is the price; the masks are definitely not cheap. But like with all the TATCHA products I have used, I definitely think that the price is justified because the products are high quality skin care products. When you use them, you can feel the amazing quality of the product. Once I finish the face masks I own, I will definitely be purchasing some more of these! For me, the fact that this is effective but does not break me out or cause my skin to dry out justifies the high price tag.

    1. Thanks for your comment. Yes, they are quite expensive, and that is the only drawback I have with this mask. But I have particularly bad skin and it is hard to find products that don't break me out or dry my skin up. TATCHA products are effective, but gentle and for that I don't mind paying the high price tag. :)

  3. I think this sounds like a great mask! It's expensive, but their are more expensive things out there! ;) Besides, I have a super hard time finding good masks, so if this one works, it might be worth it! :D
