Top 5: Black Liquid Liners

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I took a small break from blogging because I attended Fanime 2013 in San Jose, CA, so I'm sorry for being MIA! Today, I want to share my "Top 5" for black liquid liners. Well, this is not so much a "Top 5", it is more to show the liquid liners I currently own. But I do like all of the ones I own. So if you want to know more, please keep reading!~

1. Jessie's Girl Liquid Eyeliner in 'Black'
This is the most recent liquid eyeliner find, and I am soooo insanely glad I bought this. I have been using it for over a week and I am so in love with it. This is not only a very dark black liquid liner, but it is in a felt-tip pen form so it makes it very easy to use. You can draw on very thin and precise lines or a very thick and complicated line. I find this to be the most versatile and the most pigmented of all my liquid liners. It stays on all day on my eyes, which is a huge plus! Finally, it is a drugstore product which makes it pretty cheap and easy to find. You can buy it at the Jessie's Girl website for only $6.99 (I bought mine at Rite Aid though).

2. L'oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Eyeliner in 'Carbon Black'
Although this is no longer my most favorite eyeliner, it has served me well for the past two years. This was my favorite liquid liner for the longest time, so I still consider it to be one of my Top 5 liquid liners. This also has a felt-tip applicator, but the handle is much shorter and it is not in pen form like the Jessie's Girl one. I find that this is best for a thicker, glossier eyeliner look.

3. Milani Color Play Liquid Liner in 'Black'
I am not sure if this was limited edition, but it is another liquid liner I constantly reach for. This is yet another felt-tip eyeliner (there seems to be a pattern, right?!). This one, however, is a very skinny eyeliner pen which is great for making very thin and precise lines. It is not the most pigmented black so I personally love this for very minimal eyeliner looks. This can get really close to the lash line for a "no makeup" makeup look, which is great for  creating work-friendly looks.

4. Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Liquid Liner

The past 3 eyeliners I showed are all drugstore liners, but here is an even cheaper liquid liner for you all. I love Wet n Wild products, so it is not surprise that I wanted to try out their liquid liner marker. This has a marker-like applicator, which is great for those of you who do not have a lot of practice with liquid liners. It is a cheap and easy way to get some practice with lining the eyes while still getting a decent quality eyeliner. I've had mine for a while now, and it has not dried up (surprisingly!). It is not super black, but it does have a matte finish, which is uncommon with liquid liners. Overall, a great product for the price.

5. Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner in 'Perversion'
Lastly, here is non-drugstore eyeliner. I have a bit of a gripe with this one. This is the most expensive liquid liner I currently own, and by far the worst. It was great when I first bought it. It has a thin brush which can make very precise and thin lines. The black is also very pigmented. However, after a month or so I noticed the formula turned a bit watery. The cap started to gunk up with excess product as well. I actually had to throw it out because when I swatched it, it was basically just black water O_o" I might have gotten a bad batch, but because of my bad experience I will not be repurchasing this. If anyone else has this eyeliner and has had a better experience than me, please let me know in the comments! It was an amazing eyeliner for the first month I had it, so it makes me sad that I had to stop using it.

The main point of this post was to show you what liquid liners I currently use. Also, I just wanted to emphasize how much I love the Jessie's Girl eyeliner! I highly recommend it!

  2. I like the applicator on Jessie's girl eyeliner. It's similar to the Physicians Formula Eyebooster, which I absolutely love. I like that this is cheaper. I gonna have to order it.

  7. My favorite is actually the Kat Von D Tattoo liner, it's the felt pen type, I didn't think I was going to like it but I love that style now. I haven't really had issues with my Urban Decay liners, I mainly use the gold one though, I have perversion but I really like my Kat Von D for black liner. I've heard good things about the Jessie's Girl liner too.

  8. I am completely obsessed with Urban Decay's 24/7 liquid eyeliner! You must have gotten a bad batch because I have been using it for about a year now, and I have yet to find something that comes close to competing with it. I have been wearing liquid eyeliner for a little over 10 years now, and this keeps up with my very active lifestyle by lasting all day from morning until night. The only thing that I have ti complain about is the price! I tried several different cheaper alternatives, but I think eyeliner is one product where you really do get what you pay for because I always go back to Urban!
