Review: Revlon Lip Butters

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Revlon Lip Butters!! These babies have been in my makeup collection for a while, and I absolutely love them. I thought I would talk a little more in detail about each shade I own. I also want to show you guys how these look on my lips with my full-face makeup~ Keep reading for more!

*I couldn't find one of my lip butters in the shade 'Wild Watermelon', but I do have a photo of me wearing it.

                                                            Reviews &  Products In Action!

Creamsicle: this lip butter is a sheer peachy nude color. I personally don't love this shade because it settles into fine lines and it has the tendency to wash me out. Overall, not a huge fan of this particular shade.

Peach Parfait: this is a medium pinky-peach shade with gold shimmer. The shimmer makes the texture of this lip butter not as smooth as others, but I absolutely love the color. It is such a beautiful peach that isn't too bright or too pale. The gold shimmers are visible, but it looks more like a golden glow rather than super obvious shimmer. Super lovely beachy color!

Juicy Papaya: this is a sheer, juicy coral shade. It isn't very opaque, but it adds a nice touch of color to the lips. I love this for a natural look and I wear it to work meetings very often. The texture is very similar to Creamsicle, but unlike that one it doesn't settle into fine lines. If you are looking for a bright pop of color, this probably isn't the best shade for you.

Gumdrop: (by the way, super creepy picture!) this is a pale lilac shade. This is actually quite pigmented and creamy. However, it settles into fine lines a bit and it will emphasize very bad dry patches. I do like this lip butter, but I only like to wear it with dramatic eye makeup and make sure to exfoliate my lips well before I wear it.

Sweet Tart: this is a bright juicy hot pink. It is very pigmented like Gumdrop, but this has a much better texture/formula. It really brightens up my face and it looks really great with various eye looks. Huge thumbs up for this shade! It is one of my favorite lip butters.

Candy Apple: this is a bright, pink-toned red (or at list it pulls pink on me). This has the same formula as Sweet Tart (it is pigmented and has an amazing texture). It can be really bright or sheered out to be a more wearable red.

Wild Watermelon: this is a bright red-toned pink; it is quite similar to Candy Apple, but much pinker. It is so juicy! The texture is the same as Candy Apple and Sweet Tart. If you want something bright but not as red as Candy Apple, then this shade would suit you much better.

Fig Jam: this is a red-toned brown. It is really hard to describe this color, but is perfect for fall! It is a bit sheer, but it works for this shade because it is a darker color. The result is a beautiful reddish brown color. I love that this doesn't settle into lines or accentuate dry lips. It isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I really like it for autumn/winter dark lip trends.

                                                                                  Verdict

After trying out 8 shades from the Lip Butter line, I have to say I love the line as a whole. I've tried other lip butters from different brands, but I think these are one of the best ones. The colors are, for the most part, pigmented and smooth. My favorite shades are Peach Parfait, Sweet Tart, Wild Watermelon, and Fig Jam. My least favorite shade is Creamsicle.

If you have not tried out any of the Revlon Lip Butters, you really should! These are so much more convenient and easy to use than regular lipsticks (although not as long-lasting). I highly recommend you at least try one shade out but be careful in which shade you choose; some of the colors can settle into fine lines and emphasize dry lips.

    1. I know what you mean. Lip Butters aren't going anywhere any time soon, so it's not like you can't buy it in the future!
