Tutorial: Psychedelic Dinosaur

Happy Mother's Day! A  big shout out to all the amazing mothers out there. I know I wouldn't be who I am without the love and support of my lovely mother ♥

Whenever I see purple and green together, I can't help but think of dinosaurs. Probably because Barney the dinosaur was green and purple...but I digress. I love purple and green together so I made a bright and dramatic look using green, purple, black, and white. If you want to achieve this look, follow my tutorial! Hope you like it~

Products Used

-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Lime Crime d'Antoinette Palette(Absinthe-Minded and Ribbonesque)
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics 'Wintergrasp' eyeshadow
-Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner
-Maybelline Illegal Length mascara

Psychedelic Dinosaur Tutorial

1. On your primed lid, apply a pastel or bright green color. Here I used Absinthe-Minded from Lime Crime's d'Antoinette Palette.

2. With a pencil brush or angled brush, apply a matte black right on the crease. This doesn't have to be perfect or neat since we will go back and blend it. Then, right above the black, apply a bright matte purple. I used a matte purple from the brand CUICU.

3. Blend, blend blend. You want to blend the black with the purple.
Also, blend the edges of the purple. I added a lighter purple, Ribbonesque from the Lime Crime d'Antoinette palette, and used it to blend the top edges of the purple.

4. Now you can focus on the lower lash line. Use a white pencil liner on the water line and very close to the lash line. Apply a white powder eyeshadow to set the liner. I used Victorian Disco Cosmetics Wintergrasp eyeshadow.
Then, using the same matte purple and an angled brush, line the lower lash line just below the white. You can also apply a bit of the lighter purple on the edges of the darker purple.

5. Make a semi-thick line on the upper lash line with  a liquid liner. I used the Dolly Wink black liquid liner. Apply mascara and lashes :)
Final Look

Later on I made the green...um..greener? I just applied some of Jade-O-Lade from the ChinaDoll palette on top. It reminds me of The Hulk! HULK SMASH!

Do you like green and purple together? Or is this too bright and dramatic for your taste?

    1. Haha I promise you it's not a natural talent. I used to be terrible at it, and only recently has the liquid liner been looking better.

  5. Lolololol, "hulk smash!" I really love this look. I've been trying to be a bit more bold with my own looks instead of just blending everything together, but I'm not quite sure how yet. I like how you did this one, thougH!

    1. It all takes practice and a little patience. I started out not being able to do much with eyeshadows, but gradually your skills will improve. Just take the leap and be daring :D
