Review: Wet n Wild 'Metropolitan Nights' Eyeshadow Palette

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Today's review is for the 'Metropolitan Nights' Palette from the Wet n Wild Fergie Centerstage collection.

This is a new palette from Wet n wild. It has 5 colors in a slim and lightweight compact. It also comes with a dual-sided sponge-tip applicator. 'Metropolitan Nights' leans towards gold-toned eyeshadows. It has a shimmery gold-white, a sparkly and sheer gold, a golden taupe, a black with gold shimmers, and a matte black.

I used this palette to create my New Years look (except for the blue on the lower lash line).  The lip color is 'Saraghina' from the same Wet n Wild collection.

This palette doesn't swatch well but it has descent pigmentation. Most of all, the eyeshadows have a super smooth texture. For about $4-5, I'd say this is a pretty good deal. The colors that I like the best from the palette is the shimmery gold-taupe and the black with the gold shimmers. The white is actually very well pigmented and works awesome as a inner corner highlight shade. The most disappointing shade is the gold color because it is rather sheer and not as smooth as the rest of the eyeshadows, but it is still pretty.

I think this type of palette is geared towards people who 1) don't have such a huge makeup collection such as myself and 2) to people who are looking for affordable and great quality eyeshadows. I personally bought this because I am a blogger and I want to review it on my blog and also because I am a huge fan of Wet n Wild.  Besides, this is actually a very convenient palette for travel because it is thin and light weight, plus it is not as fragile as the other Wet n Wild palettes.

PROS:
-affordable
-easy to travel with
-overall great pigmentation
-smooth texture
-it includes at least one matte shade

CONS:
-not as pigmented as other Wet n Wild eyeshadows
-if you have a somewhat large makeup collection, you most likely can find something similar to the eyeshadows in this palette

Rating: 7.5/10

  1. Even if it's not as pigmented as other WnW eyeshadows it still looks awesome. I'm so glad they've improved their formulas, I remember how crappy WnW used to be.
