2013 Favorites: Eyeshadows

Greetings to the Dark Side~
We have arrived to the most difficult part of choosing my 2013 favorites: eyeshadows. This is a conundrum of massive proportions because I love eyeshadows so much. About 60% of my collection is made up of eyeshadows so choosing a few is too difficult, but I tried my best. Fun fact, my blog was originally going to be a nail polish blog. Yet somehow it turned out to be more focused on eyeshadows/eye looks. It's weird how things work out! Anyway, I digress. If you want to see my 2013 eyeshadow picks, keep reading!

FOTD and EOTD: Sephora Ariel Palette

Welcome dark siders!

If you have been following the newest Sephora Disney collection, you might know that the Ariel collection will be arriving in stores soon. I was lucky enough to get my Ariel Storylook Palette early but I have yet to purchase anything else in the collection (I really want the mirror). So, in the mean time, I am still using my palette to create different looks. Recently, I created a smokey look using the colors 'Jetsam' and 'Caspian Sea' (see the FOTD photo). I also created a reverse smokey eye using the entire last row of the palette (see the EOTD photo).

I know a lot of people did not particularly love this palette, but I really do. I think the colors are amazing~! If you ever get a chance to get this palette, I really recommend it :D It is a great collector's item than you can actually use to create several different makeup looks!

FOTD: Sick of Swimming (Ft. Sephora Ariel Palette)

Greetings from the Dark Side!
The third row of the Sephora Ariel palette offers a great mix of colorful shades. I wanted to create something brighter and less reminiscent of the ocean/mermaids. I personally just love the green shades in this palette! It is different, but I hope you like it!

FOTD: Unfortunate Souls (Ft. Sephora Ariel Palette)

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Here is another sea-blue look using the Sephora Ariel palette. I decided to use all the eyeshadows from the second row in the palette to create a look and see how it works out. I actually love how the blues on the lid look together! I hope you like it too :)

FOTD: Blue Lagoon (Ft. Sephora Ariel Palette)

Greetings from the Dark Side ^_^

I created a simple blue look using the Sephora Ariel Storylook Palette~ This is an easy way to wear blue that does not look super crazy or in your face. Or maybe it does look crazy and I'm just in denial xD

First Impression: Sephora Ariel Storylook Palette

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I am excited to show you a first look of the new Sephora Disney Storylook Palette. This is Volume 3 and it is based on Ariel from The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies, and the Hans Christian Andersen version is my favorite fairy tale. So as you could imagine, I was very thrilled to see Sephora release an Ariel collection. So without further adieu, here is my first impression of the Ariel Storylook Palette~

                                                                         Packaging

If you have seen the Cinderella or Jasmine palette, you have an idea of the packaging is like. The palette comes inside a box. The outer box is really cute actually, and you can see it in the photo below:

March Hits and Misses

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I haven't posted any of my monthly favorites in a while, but I actually had a lot of favorites this past month. I've tried a lot of products recently, but the products below have been real standouts for me. I also have three complete misses! Keep reading if you want to know about the HITS and the MISSES.

                                                    HITS

1. Hard Candy "CC" Correction Cream (Fair)
I already posted a First Impression post for this product, but I just want to just say how awesome this stuff is. I really wish Hard Candy had a better color selection because I know that the shade range has been a huge problem for most people. However, the actual product is marvelous. It is a decently pigmented, natural-looking "foundation" that is perfect for everyday wear. It looks so natural that it is like a second skin. I have been alternating this with my Lioele Super Gold Snail BB cream. I usually use the CC cream for school or days when I want a very light makeup look.

2. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer (NC20)
Because the Hard Candy CC cream is very lightweight, sometimes a need a little more coverage for any stubborn scars or pimples. I love this stuff because it is really pigmented and it stays on all day. It is by far the best concealer I have used to date.

3.Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser (Neutralizer)
I've had this concealer for a while, and as you can see I have already used up more than half. I don't have particularly bad dark circles, but I like my undereye area to look bright (especially on the days I don't get much sleep). This stuff is really amazing; it conceals and brightens. I suggest you get the Neutralizer shade. It is the best one, IMO.

Gift Haul! And A Favor Haul

Greetings my lovelies!

Gift Haul

Last week, I got a parcel from a friend of mine in South California, Sophi. I was excited because this was a parcel I had been expecting for a while. A little after the Sephora Cinderella collection was released, I was super bummed out because I could not get my hands on the highly sought after compact mirror that was a part of the collection. So, I asked my friend in So Cal if she would be the loveliest person on earth and get me one of the mirrors from her local Sephora because they still had a few mirrors in stock. She agreed and told me she would send it to me. However, she is pregnant and she was having a really bad time with her pregnancy at that time so she never got around to sending me the mirror. So when weeks later I finally got her package, I was surprised to see that she had sent me loads of other things! I was really taken aback and very grateful that she took and spent the time to get me things I did not ask her to get me. So I just wanted to share what she sent me!

1. Cinderella Mirror
So this is the only thing I was expecting. It feels so great to finally have this thing! It haunted me for weeks! Honestly, they should have made more of these. I hate to say it, but this mirror is freaking beautiful. I am so immensely grateful to my friend. I would not have been able to get this if it was not for her. Thanks Sophi!!!

First Impression: Sephora+Pantone Universe Color of the Year Collection - Emerald

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I bought this Sephora+Pantone Universe set last week because this year's color is emerald. I have brown eyes and I have noticed that greens (particularly emeralds) look amazing with brown eyes. I was really interested in the mascara but it was sold out separately. I decided to buy the set in order to get the mascara and the Lid Stain, the Color Block, and the Glitter Dust. I was not that excited by the eyeshadow Block or the pencil, but I decided to give them a try anyways. Here is my First Impression of this set~

Review: Sephora Jasmine Collection 'Magic Carpet Ride' Quad

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Are there any Aladdin fans out there? I know that I am a HUGE fan of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, so I was super psyched by the Sephora Jasmine collection! I purchased a few things and I just had to show you all a review ASAP!

FOTD: Magic Carpet Ride (Ft. Sephora Jasmine Collection)

Greetings my dear dark siders :)

Today I am playing around with my new goodies from the Sephora Jasmine collection! I am excited to come up with looks using these new eyeshadows. Today, I used the 'Magic Carpet Ride' eyeshadow quad. I will have a full review for that soon. In the mean time, you can see for yourselves how this quad applies on the eyes.

Sephora Haul: Disney Jasmine Collection

Greetings from the Dark Side of Beauty!

I saved my No-Buy makeup reward money for the last two weeks in order to get some goodies from the Sephora Disney Jasmine collection! Growing up, Aladin was one of my favorite Disney movies (along with The Little Mermaid) so I knew I would be buying some things from this collection! Everything is super cute! :D

*Swatches will come in separate posts tomorrow! Also sorry about the crazy lighting. I was trying out new lighting but I haven't figured it out yet >_<"
