First Impression: Rimmel Stay Matte Primer

A while back ago I bought this Rimmel primer to try out, but I haven't had a chance to use it because I was busy using the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. I finally had a chance to try it out these past two days and I want to post my first thoughts on it. Keep reading for more information~

Disney Series: Belle (Beauty and the Beast)

Bonjour my lovely readers!

I apologize for the extreme delay with this post. Some of you might know this, but for those of those who don't know, I will say it again: I am a college senior and I *hopefully* will be getting my Bachelor's degree in about three weeks. I am really busy trying to pass all my classes so I can graduate already! But, even if this post is late, I still wanted to post it this week :D I will have the Jasmine inspired look this week too so look out for that one!

I love Beauty and the Beast! I was looking forward to doing this because Belle is my best friend's favorite princess. No joking, she has a shrine of Belle collectibles xD This look was a bit difficult for me because I felt like yellow was the only color I could work with. But I ended up incorporating a bit of brown and gold into as well. I wanted to keep my lips very neutral so I choose to wear Chanel's Rouge Coco in 'Mademoiselle'. Kind of fitting, don't you think (since she is French)? Anyway, I hope you like the look!

Harry Potter Series: Bellatrix Lestrange

Greetings from the Dark Side!
I have for you a somewhat grungy look inspired by Bellatrix Lestrange herself. I love the way Helena Bonham Carter played Bellatrix's character, so this is a shout out to her marvelous acting! I don't look anything like Bellatrix, mind you, so this is just an inspired look. I opted for the more natural look as apposed to the smokier and darker look. And of course I had to wear my Bellatrix necklace!

Haul: Maybelline, Rimmel, Wet n Wild, Kiss

Hello everyone!

I went to Rite Aid and Walgreens today and I found a few items that actually really interested me. I believe that these are all new products for 2014! How exciting! I will be posting more in depth posts about each product along with swatches and a short first impression. Keep and eye out for that :)

1. Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser ($6.99)
I've heard so many great things about this product and I was so excited to finally see it at my Walgreens. I really wanted this to use it on my nose area since I have very visible pores there and hopefully this will help with that!

Sailor Moon Series: Luna

Greetings from the Dark Side!

This Sailor Moon inspired look is based on Luna's human form. I love how she looks as a human; she is so cute! For this I choose to use the yellow from her dress and black from her hair and dress. Luna is Latin for Moon, so it was only natural to take inspirations from her crescent moon shapes as well as from the moon itself~I'm not going to lie, this isn't the most wearable look, and it kind of makes me look like a panda. But panda's are cute, so I don't mind! xD

FOTD: Blue Lagoon (Ft. Sephora Ariel Palette)

Greetings from the Dark Side ^_^

I created a simple blue look using the Sephora Ariel Storylook Palette~ This is an easy way to wear blue that does not look super crazy or in your face. Or maybe it does look crazy and I'm just in denial xD

Tutorial: Thanksgiving in Summer

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Today I have this look which, aside from my foundation, was done using only drugstore products~! Very cheap drugstore products at that!Maybe it is just me, but the colors are quite reminiscent of Thanksgiving. Either ways, I hope you enjoy ^_^

Top 5: Pencil Eyeliners (For the Waterline)

Greetings from the Dark Side~

Like many of you, I am always on the search for the best eyeliners, especially eyeliners to wear on my waterline. I've found a few really great eyeliners in my search and I want to share my Top 5 favorite eyeliners for the waterline! Keep reading for more information!

*In order from Left to Right:

1. Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner in 'Deepest Black'
This is the most recent find, and by far one of the best drugstore finds. The Prestige eyeliner is really affordable, but it does not lack in quality. It is an intense semi-glossy black that dries to a satin finish. This is particularly great for a smokey, smudged look~ You can of course use this on your upper lash line for a smokey look!

2. Milani Liquif'Eye Eyeliner in 'Black'
This Milani one is very similar to the Prestige eyeliner. This is also an intense semi-glossy black. I find that this one smudges a little more than the Prestige one though, so I prefer the Prestige one because it lasts longer on my waterline.

3. Urban Decay 24/7 Pencil Eyeliner in 'Perversion'
If you have trouble finding a black that stays on your waterline, you might want to try this super matte black. I personally prefer this particular eyeliner for neutral or classier looks. It is still really dark, but it is not as smudgy and rocked out like the Milani and Prestige ones. This one is a bit pricier, but definitely worth the price. If you are not willing to shell out the money for this one, definitely try out the Prestige or Milani eyeliners.

4. Rimmel ScandalEyes in 'Sparkling Black'
When a plain black eyeliner gets too boring for you, try this sparkly black eyeliner. It is a pigmented black loaded with silver sparkles. It looks insanely awesome on the lower lash line/waterline and the upper lash line. It stays surprisingly well on my eyes too! Such a great drugstore find!

5. Rimmel ScandalEyes in 'Nude'
The nude eyeliner is one of my recent beauty favorites. This Rimmel one is a cheaper alternative to the higher end nude eyeliners. I have to say that for $5, this nude eyeliner is freaking amazing. It is quite pigmented and long lasting. It looks so great for a wide-eye, natural look! Yet another amazing drugstore product! I used the eyeliner in THIS look.

There are so many more great eyeliners, but these are the standout in my makeup collection. If you have any recommendations for great eyeliners, let me know ^_^ I always love trying out new products!

Diablo 3 Series: Enchantress

Greetings from the Dark Side!

I am happy and sad to announce that this is the last of the Diablo 3 looks! I was going to be done after completing the looks for the classes, but I really liked the Enchantress so I wanted to do an inspired look.

The Enchantress is probably one of the most colorful characters in Diablo 3. I liked her outfits and the voice actress' accent! I also thought she looked the most girly out of all the characters and I wanted to play around with that. She inspired me to do a very simple, yet slightly edgy look that is fun and different. I used peachy browns, pinks, and a bit of green to create this look and I hope you like it :D

A simpler look with just pinks

Dupe: MAC 'Black Swan' Pearlglide pencil VS. Rimmel 'Sparkling Black' ScandalEyes Kajal

Greetings from the Dark Side~!

I made a brief post on my Facebook about this possible product dupe. I thought I would post it here anyways for those who do not follow me on Facebook. I found that a product I owned was a really good dupe for the 'Black Swan' pearlglide pencil liner from the new MAC Archie's Girls collection. The MAC pencil costs $16.50 while the Rimmel ScandalEyes is about $3-$5.

As you can see below, the two pencils  are both black with silver sparkles. The MAC one (on the right) is a bit creamier and more intense than the Rimmel one (on the left), but they are very close. Plus, when they are worn on the eyes, they look almost identical. $16.50 for a product I could get for 4 times less money was not worth it for me. I immediately returned 'Black Swan'. So if you missed out on 'Black Swan' or thought it was too expensive, now you have an alternative dupe :)

The Legend of Zelda Series: Link

How can you have a Legend of Zelda series without Link, the hero of time?! Without the hero of awesomeness?! Well you cannot. It's simply not possible. So here is my very first Link look. First? Yes, first! I was already planning on doing more than one look for Link, but I ended up being rather displeased with this look. I am still posting it though. I feel that this looks too lemon-y, almost 7 Up inspired xD But oh well. I still like the look, just not so much for Link. I hope you like it regardless!

Link!~Inspiration picture~ (from Google search):

Link Inspired Look

*Again sorry for the messy brows @_@

Products Used

-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Urban Decay 24/7 Liner pencil 'Perversion'
-Victorian Disco 'Dowry'
-Victorian Disco  'Symmetrical Garden'
-Lime Crime ChinaDoll Palette (Jade-O-Lade and Goldfish)
-Wet n Wild 'Vanity' Palette (matte dark brown)
-Maybelline Illegal Length mascara
-KKCenterhk ES A598 Lashes

Tutorial

1. Take a pencil brush or a crease brush and apply Dowry (a dark matte forest green) on the outer V, crease, and half of the lower lash line. We want to have a very dark, forest-y color :)

2. To further play up with the greens, I applied a small amount of Jade-O-Lade from the Lime Crime ChinaDoll Palette and top it off with a little bit of Victorian Disco's Symmetrical Garden. The combination makes this a slightly lighter and shimmery green.  The shimmer adds a nice iridescent touch xD

3. This is where I feel that I messed up. I applied Goldfish from the ChinaDoll palette in the inner part of the lid, but I think this is far too yellow and gold. I wanted to use a color that would represent Link's blond hair. *sigh*

4. Besides green, Link wears a lot of brown accessories. I applied a matte dark brown on the lower lash line.

5. Apply liquid liner, mascara, and black liner on the waterline.

 6. Now you could leave the look like this, but I was unhappy, and I applied a little more of Dowry on the on the crease and blended it a lot more. I was still unhappy...LOL.

Here is a full face shot. I went with a neutral lip color, Rimmels Airy Fairy Lipstick. I was just not feeling up to taking pictures this day. It was hot and I had been wearing the makeup for a few hours when I took this. I also realize that neutral colors don't look all that great on me xD

Thank you for reading ♥ Until next time!

Haul: CVS

Well hello people ^_^
Today I passed by CVS and Walgreens to pick up a couple of things that I have been meaning to get for a while now.

First, this is what I got from CVS:
First, this is one of the Sally Hansen HD nail colors in the color Laser. It is a sparkly blue with purple micro shimmer.
Can you see the really pretty purple shimmer?
The price on these are..I have no idea. It will vary from store to store, but I got lucky. The bottle didn't have a tag, and the cashier rung it up for $0.99! I believe it was around $5-$6. Yay for me!

Next up is Essie's Sexy Divide. This was from an old collection, but they had it at CVS. I have noticed that drugstores carry Essie now, it is a little odd. They even had OPI.  This was $8, as all Essie nail polishes are.
Sexy Divide is a dark purple with very subtle purple and blue shimmer. It was hard to capture the shimmer on my camera, but its there.
Then we have Rimmel's 60 Seconds polish. Not many strores carry this anymore, but this one looked so pretty. I could not resist myself. This in the color 615 "Night Before." It is a dark purple with a gold shimmery duochrome like appearance. I haven't tried these out, by the way. This was $2.99 I believe.
Can you see the gold undertone? It almost looks like the night sky~
The last polish I purchased is Sinful Color's Pearl Harbor. It was $1.99 and an amazing purchase, I think.
You will see why.
Look at the iridescent shimmer! It is gorgeous!
It has blue, turquoise, and opal pink shimmers. It will look different depending on what color you top it over. Lighter polishes will accentuate the opal glitters, while a darker polish will accentuate the blue glitters.
I swatched them on an index card, but its hard to see the colors.
Click on the pictures to view them larger.
These did not capture the pretty shimmers of the two purple polishes...

And lastly, I finally got my hands on the Milani HD concealer. This is supposed to be a dupe for the YSL touche eclat. I got mine in the shade 01. This was $4.99.
I will do a review on the concealer and on the nail polishes once I get to use them.
If you guys have been eyeing  anything from here, I hope this helped to give you an idea of what they look like.
Honestly, the thing I liked the most and surprised me the most was the Sinful Colors polish in Pearl Harbor. It was really cheap but it is really amazing. You guys should check it out. Most drugstores carry the Sinful Colors line. I've seen it at Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid.
I will do a separate post on what I got at Walgreens, because if I put them together, this post will be too picture heavy. Anyways, thanks for reading. :)
Happy hauling~
