Greetings to the Dark Side~
We have arrived to the most difficult part of choosing my 2013 favorites: eyeshadows. This is a conundrum of massive proportions because I love eyeshadows so much. About 60% of my collection is made up of eyeshadows so choosing a few is too difficult, but I tried my best. Fun fact, my blog was originally going to be a nail polish blog. Yet somehow it turned out to be more focused on eyeshadows/eye looks. It's weird how things work out! Anyway, I digress. If you want to see my 2013 eyeshadow picks, keep reading!
1. Sephora Ariel Palette
I was a huge fan of the Sephora Disney collections, and the Ariel one was no exception. The Ariel palette is not only beautiful but it has really fantastic eyeshadows. It was one of the only expensive palettes I bought all year, and I love it so very much!
2. Sugarpill Eyeshadows
I don't know how I ever created makeup looks without Sugarpill eyeshadows. Most of my inspired looks this year have been created with Sugarpill or Lime Crime eyeshadows. Sugarpill palettes are so worth buying if you love bright eye makeup! I am getting the urge of collection all the Sugarpill eyeshadows...God help me and my wallet!
3. Maybelline EyeStudio Quads
I never cared much for Maybelline eyeshadows, but that changed when I tried the EyeStudio Quads. These little eyeshadows quads are surprisingly great! The price is alright ($6-$9) and the eyeshadows are really pigmented. The texture is smooth and the colors are pretty. I have a few of these quads and I really like them. If you find a quad that has colors you like, then go for it and try out these drugstore eyeshadows.
4. Lime Crime Eyeshadow Palettes
I am so in love with Lime Crime's eyeshadow palettes! I own all four of them and I use them all the time. I love LC lipsticks as well, but I think their eyeshadows don't get enough love. The eyeshadows are pigmented, they don't have any fallout, and the packaging is so freaking cute~! I really wish they would make more palettes...although I would probably go broke if they did!
5. Wet n Wild Eyeshadows
Something that will not make you go broke is Wet n Wild eyeshadows. Wet n Wild eyeshadows are by far my most favorite drugstore eyeshadows. They are inexpensive yet of very high quality. My favorite are all of their 8 pan palettes and the 2013 collection of Pop Art Craze eyeshadow trios. Their Fergie eyeshadow palettes are a bit of hit or miss, but most of the eyeshadows from Wet n Wild are amazing!
6. Indie Eyeshadows
I don't even know if I have to keep repeating myself, but I guess I will just for kicks: I freaking LOVE indie eyeshadows. Period. End of story. No but seriously, indie eyeshadows are just the best thing ever. They can be super cheap, vegan, cruelty-free, super nerdy/fandom-inspired, and just...ugh the best thing to happen to makeup. I have a post on my 2013 favorites of indie makeup if you want to go check that out :D
Definite yes to the Sugarpill eyeshadows.
ReplyDeleteLove Wet n Wild eyeshadows!!
ReplyDeletegreat favorites! I only tried a Wet n Wild palette and I was amazed how amazing the shadows are and how easy I can work with them. I would looove-looove to try Sugarpill and Lime Crime too!
ReplyDeleteI've always been curious when it comes to Lime crime's shadows! Thanks for posting this, I'll have to check these out!
ReplyDeleteI guess I need to try one of lime crime palettes next, I just wish they had a palette that was more wearable for everyday look :)

I told myself I need to stop buying so much eyeshadow, but I decided to try sugarpill shadows! Now I'm hooked and I really want every shade as well!!
ReplyDeleteI was buying Maybelline yesterday at CVS but the quads were $10 each so I skipped em and grabbed a couple Color Tattoos instead. Wet n Wild is also one of my fave brands!

Really curious about Sugarpill eyeshadows now! I find the shades to be a little bright (which is why I am still hesitant), but you always wear them so beautifully!
