Thank you for all the feedback/comments that I receive for these looks, and a huge thank you to all of those who participated in the March Challenge! It was about time I started to do some Star Wars inspired looks and I had so much fun with the three looks from this week! Anyway, let's get right into the monthly recap and announcing the winner of the challenge!

Star Wars Series: Stormtroopers

"These aren't the droids we're looking for."

I continue this Star Wars series with a character just as classic as Darth Vader himself, the Stormtrooper. Stormtroopers are in just about any kind of Star Wars related thing you see. It should be no surprise then that I decided to create a look based on these guys! Stormtroopers are soldiers that originate from the Jango Fett clones that were created to fight the Clone Wars for the Republic. Later they became Imperial soldiers for Emperor Palpatine when the Galactic Republic was reformed into the Galactic Empire. Many stormtroopers are still clones, but there are also many other non-clone soldiers among their ranks.

Star Wars Series: Darth Vader

"You don't know the power of the Dark Side" -Darth Vader

Darth Vader is not just one of favorite Star Wars characters, but he is also one of the most iconic character in the series. He is one of the main antagonists of the Star Wars saga, yet he is also redeemed by his sacrifice in the end. When I thought about creating a Darth Vader look, I have to say I was quite intimidated; I didn't know how I could do any justice to his character. I knew I wanted something dark and smokey, but I wanted to add in red for his lightsaber too. I also wanted to add a bit of light, since he is not entirely a bad character which resulted in me adding some silver glitter. The sparkles over the black base in this look also are very reminiscent of all the space/galaxy scenes throughout the films. I was quite pleased with the outcome, and I hope you all like it as well!

Star Wars Series: Boba Fett

I am really excited to finally bring you another Star Wars inspired look! I should really have done lots of these by now since my blog name is inspired by Star Wars after all! Today I will be sharing my Boba Fett inspired look. Boba Fett, a Madalorian bounty hunter and the clone of Jango Fett, is one of favorite characters from Star Wars, mostly because I really like his armor. So I was very excited to try to create a look inspired by him!

Rainbow Polish 'Artoo'

Happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you ^_^

 In the spirit of Star Wars Day, I applied a Star Wars inspired nail polish~ This is Rainbow Polish's 'Artoo' nail polish. 

Artoo has a transparent base with chunky white and blue glitter, and rainbow colored sparkles. I used two layers on my bare nails, but you can always layer this over another nail polish. My nails look a but yellow in the photos, sorry about that >_<" It looks amazing in person though :D I love it!

Tutorial: Artoo Girl

Greetings from the Dark Side ♥

Being super obsessed with both makeup and Star Wars means that those two categories sometimes come together to create some super geeky makeup. I was inspired by my latest acquisition of the Black Milk Artoo Dress and created this R2-D2 makeup to go with my dress. This look is super fun and I loved it! It is perfect for parties and for comic/anime/geeky conventions ^_^ If you want to know how I created this look, then stick around and let your inner geek jump with glee at the sight of this!

NOTD: Boba Fett Nails!

I've been a terrible blogger! I try to post everyday but now I am playing Diablo 3...hehe. Here is a quick NOTD though~

As you all must know by now, I am a huge Star Wars nerd. What a better to show my love for Star Wars than by doing a Boba Fett inspired mani! Not only that, I also used all Sinful Colors nail polishes, which are very inexpensive and good quality.

Word of caution, I am terrible at nail art!! This is my first attempt and I know it is kind of messy. But it was fun and even though it looks kind of ugly, I still love the geekiness of it ^_^

FOTD: May the Fourth Be With You

Happy Star Wars Day everyone! Hope you are having a great day. I am enjoying this day by watching the original Star Wars trilogy~

In light of this awesome "holiday", I decided to go full out Star Wars geek today. I took my Darth Vader backpack to school, put on my Darth Maul shirt, my Star Wars belt, my Galactic Empire earring, and of course, use my VDC Star Wars themes eyeshadows!

Eye Looks

 

I had to different looks on today. First this simpler one for when I went to school.

I used: VDC 'Lightsaber', 'The Force, Use It', 'Do the Jabba, Jabba', a matte black, mascara, and liquid liner.

Then this slightly altered look for the evening. I added UD Chase eyeshadow in the inner corner, and some Elise235 Lashes with a bit more liquid liner.

You guys always reprimand me for having crappy full faced shots xD I know, I know. It is really hard for me to take full faced shots with my camera because it is so heavy! The super HD quality also emphasizes all of my imperfections, namely my crappy skin/acne scarring that I am still trying to heal up. And I don't like photoshopping pictures, even though it makes them look better. But I am trying to improve this, so here is my attempt at some full face shots with my Canon~ Mind my crappy skin and such. I was in a hurry to do my makeup!

Victorian Disco Review: Galaxy Down the Stree Collection

You might remember me doing a review and swatches of this collection not long ago, but many colors of this collection were reformulated, changed completely, and there was some new added colors. These are updated swatches and many more colors ♥ If you want to check out the older post, you can see it HERE.

I am just going to say it now. This collection is probably my favorite collection EVER! Not only is it Star Wars related, but the colors are amazing. Ashley, the owner of VDC, has also been really dedicated to perfecting and expanding this collection. I can't fully express in words just how much I love it ♥

Swatches + Colors

These are swatched on bare skin with a slightly damp brush.

Emperor (new color) - Blackened base with lots of purple-pink shimmers! I love this shade. It is similar to my all-time favorite eyeshadow from MAC (Young Punk). I swear Ashley read my mind with this color! It is so gorgeous! The glitter can be a bit sparse,so it is better to apply a good primer or a sticky base to really capture the shimmer.

The Fett (new color) - Spring green with loads of pink shimmer~ This is a perfect representation of Boba Fett~ The color is sooo unique and beautiful. It kind of reminds me of a duo-chrome nail polish I have by MAC called Mean & Green. The formula is fantastic, pigmented, and the shimmers really pop against the green! This is probably my favorite color from this collection!

Do the Jabba, Jabba (new color) - a red-dominated copper with orange shimmer. This is the reddest and brightest copper/orange I have! It is really stunning and in your face~ The formula was fantastic on this one as well.

Lightsaber (this was previously called 'Emperor' ; the previous 'Lightsaber' is now called 'Outer Rim') - This is a very vibrant version of a royal blue. It seems like it is matte, but it actually has a very nice and subtle blue sheen. I love this color because it matches the Galactic Empire tattoo I have on my wrist. Actually, I want to get it touched up soon, and I want it to be this exact color! This was a slightly more difficult shadow to work with; it wants to be a matte so it can apply a tiny bit patchy if you are not careful.

Yeah...anyways...today I have another tutorial using the Victorian Disco In a Galaxy Far, Far Down the Street eyeshadows. I did already use 'The Force, Use It' in my previous look, but I wanted to use it again as my main color.

This is a bright and fun look, and I think very perfect for spring time :) I hope you like it.

Victorian Disco Tutorial: Destroying the Death Star

Hello fellow Nerds and Girls.
I am super excited to share this look with you! I had so much fun doing it, but mostly, I had the most fun trying to link all the colors together to form a little explanation of my look. I used three colors from the Victorian Disco In A Galaxy Far, Far Down The Street: Death Star, R2, and The Force, Use It.

It was coincidental, but I thought about how Luke Skywalker, aided by R2-D2, Han Solo, and Obi-Wan, destroyed the Death Star. He uses The Force (hence The Force, Use It) and manages to hit the 2 meter long exhaust port in order to completely destroy the Death Star in Episode IV.

I received my order withing 5 days. For an indie brand, that is really fast! The packaging of the order was also really cute. Everything came in satchel with tissue paper, a business card, and two free sample baggies.

FOTD: Spiced Chocolate

Here is another Valentine's day inspired look. I think this is different than most Valentine's Day looks, but it would work for those of you who don't like pinks or purples. I was inspired by the fact that chocolate is very popular for Valentine's Day and I also wanted to incorporate some red undertones (I really dislike straight up pink eye makeup for Valentine's, for some reason). I can definitely see myself wear this for a night time look, a date perhaps? (Ironically I wore this tonight for a date. Completely non-intentionally).

Do Braids Help Hair Grow Longer and Stronger?

I wanted to bring up this "myth" so that I can hear what you guys think on the subject.
I have always heard from my mother and several other people that braiding the hair will help to make the hair grow faster and stronger. I have never believed that the action of braiding the hair alone will help, but that genetics and lifestyle play the biggest role in the health of the hair. But then I started to think back to when I was younger.

Ever since I can remember, my mother had always braided my hair every single night. And she would very often braid my hair on a daily basis. As a child, I had extremely long (all the way to my hips) and healthy hair. I had my hair this way up until 7th or 8th grade. When I was in 9th grade, I chopped off my hair, and stopped braiding it. I think from then onwards, I have not been able to grow my hair back to it's original length. So I have been thinking of trying out this method of braiding my hair every single night, and also occasionally during the day. Of course, straightening my hair has also played a role in making my hair less healthy, so I also want to minimize the use of heat on my hair.

Braids will also be a hot hairstyle for fall/winter~

And of course being a huge Star Wars fan, I am also a huge fan of Princess Leia's braided hairstyles.

Best dialogue EVER? Indeed!

Many of you might know that I am a huge Star Wars geek. I mean, who names a makeup blog after Star Wars???? A Star Wars geek, that's who.
And this look is way over due.
This is a look that was inspired by the Dark Side of the Force. And also from a makeup look I saw somewhere but I can't remember where I saw it! Arg! But anyways, I digress, shall we begin?
*I should mention that I was experimenting with this look, and I still have to get it right.

~Silver and matte black from the Wet n Wild 'Blue Had Me at Hello' Palette
~MAC 'De-Vil' eyeshadow (LE, but you can use any copper or red)
~Prestige My Blackest Lashes mascara (review coming soon)
~KKCenterhk ES A500 lashes
~Dolly Wink liquid liner

Before adding lashes and liquid liner

How to Achieve this Look
1.Apply your primer and/or base. You want the colors to be bold.
2.Apply a silver color and apply it on the entire lid and inner corner.
3.  Using a matte black and a liner brush, draw a line on the crease.
4.Blend out the black line slightly with a fluffy brush, but you still want a noticeable black line.
5.Take the copper/red color, and apply it with a fluffy brush above the black.
6.Blend he copper with the black slightly. Don't blend too much though. We are going for a harsher line.
7. Go back and retouch any colors. Make sure that none of the colors look muddy or over blended.
8.Apply a black liner on your water line. I just used my black eyeshadow.
9.Apply the silver color on the lower lash line.
10. Apply the copper/red color on the outer half of the lower lash line winging out the color slightly.
11. Apply mascara, lashes, and liner.
