Diablo III Series: Barbarian

Greetings from the Dark Side!

Are you ready to see the last look for the Diablo 3 classes? This last one is inspired by the Barbarian class, the "savage wanderers who never flinch from close-quarter combat" (http://us.battle.net). The colors I used to represent the Barabrian are grey/silver/black (for their armor and weapons), tan-brown (skin and background), and red (color of the background and for the rage that fills the barbarians).

Not my image. From us.battle.net

                                                                        Products Used
-Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
-Victorian Disco Cosmetics 'Death Star' and 'Millennium Falcon' Eyeshadows
-Wet n Wild 'Nude Awakening' Palette (matte tan brown and shimmery black)
-Sugarpill 'Love+' Eyeshadow
-Milani Liquif'Eye black eyeliner
-YSL Faux Cils mascara
-Ardell #102 Demi Lashes

-Hard Candy C.C. Cream 'Fair'
-MAC Pro Longwear concealer
-NARS 'Casino' Bronzer
-Pumpkin & Poppy 'Evenstar' Lip Butter
-Jemma Kidd 'English Rose' Lipstick

                                                                                Tutorial

1. Start this look by applying a primer or eyeshadow base.
I used Lime Crime's Eyeshadow Helper, my favorite eyeshadow primer.

2. With a flat eyeshadow brush, apply a dark grey eyeshadow on the lid.
I am using Victorian Disco Cosmetics 'Death Star' eyeshadow.

3. After that, get a fluffy crease brush and apply a matte tan brow just above the grey and blend.
I used the tan brown from the Wet n Wild 'Nude Awakening' palette to blend out the grey.

4. With the same crease brush, apply a red just over the brown that you just applied (mostly just on the outer part). The result should be a gradient of brown to red blended just above the grey.
I used Sugarpill's 'Love+' pressed eyeshadow.

5. Apply a black eyeliner on the waterline.
I used Milani's Liquif'Eye eyeliner.

6. With a small brush, apply a black eyeshadow on the lower lash line. I used the black from the Wet n Wild 'Nude Awakening' palette.

7. With the same small brush, apply the matte tan brown you used on the crease earlier and apply it just below the black on the lower lash line. This will create a smokier effect.

8. Add a touch of a lighter grey/silver on the inner corner. I used VDC's 'Millennium Falcon'.

9. Apply mascara and lashes.

                                                                        Finished Look

Thank you so much for reading!

  1. I have to say that I absolutely love all of your tutorials, you make them so simple, I've seen tutorials of looks that are no where near as beautiful as yours and have at least 20 steps. I can't wait to try this out

    1. Thank you so much <3 your kind words have made my day!
Hehe well I personally don't like looks that have lots of steps so that might be why! I think the most important part of really great looks is blending. You can make your eye makeup look more complex than it really is by just blending your colors. It makes it seems like you used way more products and went through more steps than you actually did!

    2. you are so right about the blending:) by the way I wore this makeup for a recent event and got asked by a LOT of people where I went to get my makeup done and how beautiful it was.. and I pointed them to your awesome blog:) So I have you to thank for it!!

  2. I'm scared of taking my lid color up that far past my natural crease but dude, you pull it off SO WELL. What brushes do you use when you are doing your looks? If you've posted that before, I haven't seen it haha. I don't own a single blending brush yet SO your advice would help!!

    1. Thanks <3
You kind of have to work with your eye shape. I find that on me, taking colors past the crease looks the best. I can't pull off having eyeshadow all the way up to my brow or just at my crease though.

I do mention the brushes I use sometimes, but I forget most of the time. Most of my brushes are from ELF because they are super affordable. I use the ELF Eye Contour brush, which is pretty much a small domed blending brush. SOHO has a nice larger fluffy blending brush that you could find at Walgreens and CVS. Real Technique also has a really great blending brush! If I could only pick one, I'd say the ELF one because it is $3 and it is small enough to be precise, yet large enough to do a great job at blending :) Hope this helps.

    2. Gotchu, going to pick up a few blending brushes once my local ELF boutique opens up! Real Techniques brushes are really only sold at Ulta and that's too far of a drive haha. I'm gonna check out Soho later as well. TYSM, this was a big help!

  3. This is so pretty with your eyes. also what do you use on your brows? I'm still no good with the brows, no matter what I do. My mom's and estheticians and she cleans them up, but they just never look right when I do them!

    1. Thanks!
I have a post on what I do to my eyebrows. But on an everyday basis, I don't really do anything to my brows. I usually just pluck them and sometimes I will fill in the ends with a brow powder if I over-plucked them. Check out the post, as hopefully it will help you. :)

    1. I'm not sure what it is called exactly, but it is a medium ash toned brown from redken. Then I put a purple dye, Pravana Violet, over it.
