With the end of March just days away, I thought I would update you guys on the products I have used up. I also wanted to get rid of all the empties since I am cleaning my room ;P I think I will be doing one of these at the end of every month so you guys can see what I have used up and I will have mini reviews for those products. Usually, the best impression of a product is when you have already used it all up.
1. Organix Macadamia Oil Intense Moisture Mask
I used this hair mask in place of my usual Aussie one, but I like this one much better. This was about $4-5 so it is affordable like the Aussie one, but it left my hair feeling more hydrated and soft. I overall liked this, and I would repurchase it. I didn't like that it comes in a tub though; water can get inside of the container. I also finished it really fast, and I would hate having to repurchase it over and over because I use it up too quickly.
2. Secret gel deodorant
Honestly the only reason I buy this is because it smells really good. But it is not a long lasting deodorant, and I have been trying to look for a better, all-natural deodorant. Any recommendations?
3. iS Clinical Cleansing Complex
Several people have raved about this cleanser and my initial impression was that it was a pretty good gel cleanser. It always left my skin feeling clean and it did not dry my skin, but I didn't feel that it helped much with acne and clogged pores. I would repurchase it if it was easier to find, which it isn't (I can only find it online). So for the time being, I will not repurchase.
4. Neutrogena Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Scrub
This is the third tube I have used of this, so you can bet that I really like this. I stopped using it for about -3 weeks....huge mistake! I broke out like crazy! I would use it 3-4 times a week since it is really gentle but I have another daily scrub now so I only use this once a week.
5. Bioderma
I REALLY love this. After using this small bottle, I bought a 500mL size. I use it every night to remove my foundation and follow it up with my skin care routine. I don't think I will be able to do without this anymore! I highly recommend it! (I don't use this for my eye makeup, just for my foundation/face makeup)
6. Lucas' Papaw Ointment
This was sent to me by Suzanne and I am pretty sure this is not sold in the US. But this is really great! It is amazing for dry areas, cuts, insect bites, and burns. I actually used this a lot for my eczema and it would help to hydrate and heal the area affected by eczema. Super awesome multi-use ointment!
7. Bye Bye Blemish acne treatment
This stuff is similar to Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, but I actually think this one works much better. I got this at Rite Aid for about $9 a while ago and I just used it up. I started using it again when I broke out badly and it really helps to zap blemishes. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it works more often than not and it either completely gets rid of pimples or greatly reduces the size overnight.
8. ELF Eyelid Primer
Awesome $1 primer. Not much more to say. It works and it's cheap.
9. Reviva Labs Makeup Primer
This is the only face primer that has not broken me out and still works. I use this mostly to help the application of my foundation (I can get some dry, flaky spots) rather than to combat oily skin.
10. Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
This is one of my top must-have products. It is amazing for eyeshadows (except mattes!) and it is something I will use as long as I use eyeshadow.
11. Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Primer
I am throwing this out because 1) it is too old and 2) I absolutely hate it. This not only broke me out, it did not work at all to prime, color correct, or keep my foundation looking good throughout the day. Would not recommend or repurchase.
12. Jessy's Girl Liquid Crystal Lip Gloss
These were really cool duo-chrome lip glosses that are sheer but look very awesome. These are pretty much all used up and they only have a tiny bit left which I cannot get out of the tube. I wouldn't repurchase just because they were too sheer, but they were interesting to try.
12. Revlon Superlustrous lip gloss in 'Pink Pop'
I love Revlon lip glosses, and this was a very pretty color. The only reason I am throwing it out is because it smells bad, therefore meaning it is not good to use any longer. I won't repurchase because I have several other lip glosses and this wasn't a super unique color that I HAVE to buy again.
13. Julep Base Coat
I got this from one of the Julep Maven boxes and I really liked it. It was a great base coat that helped with staining. I would like to have it again...but it is kind of expensive. Maybe I will get it in another Maven box!
14. Artistry Lip Conditioner
Worked well to moisturize the lips, but not as good as my Jack Black lip balm. I will not repurchase.
15. L'oreal Mascara
Eh...not sure what the name of this mascara is. I didn't particularly like this, it was okay. Mascara's are a little weird for me. I'll say that I would not repurchase it, but I might forget what it was like and then purchase it again in a couple of months anyways. I like to try different mascaras and I tend to forget which ones I have used and which ones I haven't.
16-17. Artistry Soothing Creme
This is my night time moisturizer that is perfect for my dry/combo skin. Love it and still using it!
18. Artistry Night Recovery Lotion
This was nice, but I prefer the other moisturizer for night time. I do use the day time counterpart of this lotion now since it has SPF.
19-20. Artistry Renewing Peel
I love this stuff. It has been helping to slowly fade my terrible acne scarring. This is super gentle. It does not burn, sting, tingle, or make your skin red. It is still somehow effective though. Every time I use this (which is 1-2 times a week) my skin feels so bright, glowy, smooth, and supple. Only downside is that it is hard to find and expensive. Lucky for me that my mom can get these very easily and she buys them for me ;D Yay for free expensive skin care.

DeleteWow, what an impressive lot of empties, congrats! Love these posts, motivate me to keep using things up (:
ReplyDeleteWhy haven't I thought of using Lucas' Papaw Ointment on my eczema? Thanks! I loved how that Reviva Labs primer left my skin incredibly soft yet I don't wear primer so I gave it away (:
Thank you :D
DeleteWriting it also has motivated me to finish more of my makeup products!
I love these types of posts! I saw another blog had one and I thought about doing it, so maybe I'll start doing it too. Since I buy so much beauty relatd stuff (hair products, soaps, makeup, etc) I always have a sense of accomplishment when I finish something. It's gratifying to be say, "Yep, that's the end, bye bye!" And it's always interested to see what products people use and what they have to say. Even though the blog may not be on product X, it's cool to see someone use and and say, meh it's aight but not worth the price! (Wow this is really long, sorry!)
