Greetings from the Dark Side!
I am sure most of you have heard about Flower Cosmetics by now. It is the Walmart exclusive brand created by Drew Berrymore. I LOVE Drew! I think she is awesome and gorgeous! From what I have seen and read, it seems like she is genuinely interested in creating a fabulous line of makeup. You can't the same for other celebrities who "create" their own makeup lines. I was therefore really excited for this release. I am was SUPER excited to see the entire collection at my Walmart today (I literally just came from Walmart and I HAD to make a post right away) It sucks that I'm on a No-Buy and I have a small budget to work with, but I managed to stay within my budget and get some awesome products! I'm not in a rush to pick up everything since the line is permanent anyways.
Blue Lagoons Quad
Smoke and Mirrors Quad
Foxy Browns Quad
Color Play Creme Eyeshadows in 'Gold as Mari-gold' and 'Midnight Garden'
First Impression
As you can see from my haul, I only picked up eye products. I was most interested in the eye products because it is the product that I use most. First of all, look at the packaging! It is so cute! I love the way the quads look! I was quit pleased with the quads. The color combinations are fantastic! They seem very boring at first look, but when you really look at them and swatch them, they are some unique and wonderful colors. From my initial swatches I can say that I hate the white in the Blue Lagoons quad, it is really powdery and sheer. The ivory color in Smoke and Mirrors is a bit chalky but overall the whole quad is awesome. I especially love the grey/taupe/purple shade. I have nothing like it. Foxy Brows has the best overall consistency in that all the eyeshadows are nice and none of them suck. Plus the pink in the quad is divine!
The creme shadows are really different. They are not so much "creams", rather mousse eyeshadows. But they are pigmented and really gorgeous. They are very reflective as well, so they look like they might be awesome for some edgy metallic eyes. I am worried that they might crease but I can't say whether or not they will crease yet.
I really want to try the foundation stick, and a few others things. But maybe later. The products are not the cheapest so I can't be buying everything! The quads are $9.98 and the cream eyeshadows are $6.98.
Have you tried this brand yet? Or do you want to try it?
All the things I've seen from this brand look great. I wish it had been available when I was in the US a couple weeks ago!

ReplyDeleteYour swatches sure make these look great - very pigmented! I wonder if they'll do any offers like b1g1 50% off... does Walmart do that kind of thing?
ReplyDeleteThese look pretty cool - especially the quads! The pigmentation looks great for most of the shades, too. I'll definietly check Flower out!

Ooh, Blue Lagoon is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little surprised they're so expensive for being a wal-mart brand, but these look pretty. I especially like that purpley taupe and the "creme" eyeshadows!
ReplyDeleteLove the quality of the line and prices i been using this line everyday to test it out and was getting lots of great complements
