Project No Buy Update: Week 9

Greetings from the Dark Side!
And welcome to the round up for Week 9 of my No-Buy!
Week 9 (March 4- March 10)  has been really easy. I have been so busy reading and working on my term papers that I have had no time to even go to the drugstore to look at makeup! Hehe.
If you are new to my No-Buy, please check out my past posts:

                                                             Week 9's Purchases

Money is Makeup Bank before Week 8: $57.32

This week, I was only bought one thing: the Maybelline Vivids Lipstick in 'Orange Edge' (I used it in a recent tutorial). It was $7.49.

Total Money in Makeup Bank after Purchases = $48.83

                                                               Week 9's Rewards
1) Weekly goals:

Goal #1: I will make a Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire inspired look (House Tyrell maybe?).
[Failed!] I was really looking forward to doing this but I have not had any time! I already know what I plan on doing for this look, so I am super excited to get it done! (+0)
Goal #2: I will have 5 product reviews/looks.
[Completed!] I did two full makeup products review, one short nail polish review, and two makeup looks this week! (+5)

2) Grades:
-ENL183 Essay: A- (+20) [Woohoo I was so happy about this grade!]
3) Reading:
-The Iliad by Homer (Penguin Classics), 614 pages (+10)
-A Personal Matter by Oe Kenzaburo, 175 pages (+5)
-Snow Country by Kawabata Yasunari, 175 (+5)
-Sputnik Sweetheart by Murakami Haruki, 210 (+7)
-The Elephant Vanishes by Murakami Haruki, 327 (+7)

*FYI, Murakami is one of my favorite authors!

4)Language Learning:
I am still super obsessed with earning Tengwar. I think I have grasped reading it pretty well so I am practicing reading it with this really great volume called The Quenya Alphabet. It is super nerdy, but I really enjoy it! (+5)

5)Empties:
None this week.

 6) Self-Control: I hardly bought anything so I really kept within the budget!

TOTAL REWARD MONEY EARNED WEEK 9: $49.83+5+20+10+5+5+7+7+5=$113.83

                                                                 Week 10: Weekly Goals

These two goals are my weekly goals for next week. These two goals must be completed by next Sunday in order for me to earn reward money.

Goal #1: I will make a Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire inspired look (House Tyrell).
Goal #2: I will not play any video games, and instead study for finals and work on my term papers.

Wow week 10! This has all gone so fast! See you all for week 10!

  1. How many weeks do you plan to keep your no-buy up for Nancy? I love this idea of rewarding yourself for accomplishing weekly goals, and I definitely need to implement a similar thing in my life :P

    1. Right now, I am planning to do 14 weeks (like almost 100 days). But who knows. I really like doing this because even though I am still spending quite a bit of money on makeup, I can actually do better in school, read more, and learn more. This is also an easy way of tracking what I buy and when I buy them. It is really convenient for me. So I might keep doing this! :)

    2. Yeah I was going to say that since it's not a complete ban, it's easier to limit yourself with this method long-term + do better in other things. I am tempted to adopt a similar type of ban only because I seriously need to stop procrastinating my life.

  2. Nine weeks! Wow! I'm on my fourth week now and I was feeling so proud of myself! Think I'll do a 100-day one soon (can't extend this one because birthday's in-between) xx
