Disney Villains Series: Maleficent

Greetings my glamorous readers!

This look is inspired by my favorite Disney villain of all time: Maleficent! Sleeping Beauty is my favorite princess movie (although I love all the princess movies!), but Maleficent is probably the best character from the movie, IMO. She is not just evil, she is really glamorous too. The way she talks and the way she moves her hands so delicately shows true classiness (well, classy in an evil way!) I was very excited to make this look, and I hope you will like it :) My inspiration was Maleficent's eye makeup and her dragon form.

Keep reading more for a pictorial :)

-Sugarpill 'Poison Plum' eyeshadow
-L'oreal Lineur Intense liquid liner
-Prestige Total Intensity black eyeliner
-Eyelure #202 Lashes

                                                                             Tutorial

1. Start by priming your lids. If you are going to do a really dramatic look, try priming your lids really well. I used the Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'Just Beige' to prime the lids and conceal any discoloration.
2. This is optional, but you can apply a green cream base on the lid. This will give the green eyeshadows we will layer over it more dimension. I used the Sephora+Pantone 'Emerald' Lid Liner Stain.
3. Using an angled brush, make a distinct line with a black eyeshadow for where you want your "crease" to be. I used the 'Lotus Noir' eyeshadow from the Lime Crime ChinaDoll palette.

4. With a smaller brush, start applying a purple above the "crease". I used Sugarpill's 'Poison Plum' eyeshadow.
4. Keep adding some purple shades above the crease. I used a lighter matte purple closer to the brow bone. I used Lime Crime's 'Ribbonesque' eyeshadow from the d'Antoinette palette.
5.  Now, start adding some green eyeshadows. I tried to add some lighter greens on the inner corner and center of the lid, and darker greens on the outter portions and along the black "crease". I used all the green eyeshadows from all four Lime Crime palettes.
6. I tried blending out the black "crease" a bit, but it didn't work out too well! I added a bit more purple along the edges to make it look a bit darker.
 7. With a smudging brush, apply a dark purple on the lower lash line. I again used Sugarpill's 'Poison Plum' eyeshadow.
 8. Add mascara, lashes, and liquid eyeliner. You can keep the look line this if you wish~
9. I very quickly decided to add some lines to the lower lash line to represent the underside of Malificent's dragon form (the dragon's tummy is purple with black lines). Retrospectively, I should have taken my time with the lines because they ended up badly. I think I also should have lined the very bottom of the purple to make enclose the vertical lines completely.

                                                                           Final Look

Oh boy, I didn't match the lines on the lower lash line very well! They are different on both eyes ARGGGGGGGGG! It really bothers me to notice these kind of things in pictures when I didn't even notice it in person.
