A Song of Ice and Fire Series: House Martell

"Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken".

House Martell is one of the seven Great Houses of Westeros whose ruling seat lies in Dorne. Their house sigil is "a gold spear piercing a red sun on an orange field".

If you only watch the TV series, then you haven't heard a lot about this House; however, if you read the books then you will be a bit more familiar with them. I am particularly fond of the female characters that are connected to this House (like Nymeria and the Sand Snakes)! My rendition of this look is taking the concept of the House sigil; I used oranges, red, and yellow for this look.

                                                                                Tutorial

1. Start by priming your eye lids. I used Wet n Wild's Take On the Day Primer

2. Apply concealer to the eye area. I used Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser.

3. If you want to, fill in your eyebrows at this point as well. I filled in my eyebrows slightly with a brown eyeshadow from the Wet n Wild 'Vanity' Palette and sealed it with the Per-Fekt Brow Perfection Gel.

(Optional) Outline the shape you want with a white pencil. However, this did not work well for me because it was hard to completerly cover the white with the eyeshadows. The outline of the white was visible even with colors over it. I suggest either blending out this white first or just not using it at all.

4. Start applying your "field of orange". I used a light orange on the inner corner and a brighter orange for the outer 2/3s. Try making a gradient between the two colors. I used colors from the Wet n Wild Pop Art Craze trios

5. With a crease brush apply your "red sun". Use a deep red color above the oranges and begin to blend it into the orange for a smooth transition of colors.  I used the red eyeshadow from the Wet n Wild Pop Art Craze trio 'Three's A Party".

6. With a fluffy brush, apply a white eyeshadow above the red on the brow bone. This will highlight this area and help to blend the red ever so slightly.  I used the white eyeshadow from the Wet n Wild Pop Art Craze trio 'Three's A Party".

7. With a small thin brush, apply red eyeshadow on the lower lash line. I tried to make this very bright and saturated (brighter than the red I used on the top part of my eyelid). I again used the red from the Wet n Wild Pop Art Craze trio 'Three's A Party".

8.  With another small brush, apply the "spear" to the outer corner of the eye. I used Sugarpill's 'Buttercupcake' eyeshadow.

9. To complete the "spear", apply the same yellow on the inner corner.

10. To make this look a bit bolder, apply black eyeliner on the waterline and on the corner of the upper lash line. I used Prestige's Total Intensity black eyeliner.

11. Lastly, apply mascara! I used Revlon's Lash Potion mascara.

Now, you are done!~

                                                                            Finished Look

I hope you have been enjoying these House inspired looks as much as I have! House Martell is actually the last of the main Houses. If there are any A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones looks you want to see, please let me know. At this point in time, I will not make any more looks for this series unless I get a request. Thank you all for sticking with me while I have made these looks! I have had so much fun!!
