Skincare Wednesdays: LUSH Haul + First Impression

Hi, hi~
So far I have decided to keep doing skin care posts on Wednesdays. Do you guys like this?
Yea or Nay?

If you follow me on twitter, you might now that I made my first purchase from LUSH last week and I received my order yesterday. I was so excited!! I guess I finally jumped on the LUSH bandwagon!

Here is got I bought:

Here are my first impressions of these products:
*This is NOT a review. I have only used these about 2-3 times each and I have not had enough time to make any solid claims of whether these work or not.

Fresh Farmacy
1. Fresh Farmacy ($9.75 for 3.5 oz)
This is solid cleanser for sensitive, oily, and problematic skin. It contains tea tree oil, calamine powder, chamomile, rose oil, lavender oil and a couple other ingredients. It smells like medicinal herbs, but not in a bad way. I actually like the scent and its not too overwhelming. But, I know many people won't like how it smells. What I do is to cut small slivers off the block of soap and store them in a container. The rest I bagged and store away. I only use half of the each sliver for one wash. The consistency of the cleanser is almost like a solidified creme. It is very soft so its easy to use. I use a makeup remover wipe, and then use this to cleanse my face. My face feels very clean and soft.

Tea Tree Water and Grease Lightning
2. Tree Tea Water ($8.95 for 3.3 oz)
Tea Tree water, Juniper water, and Grapefruit water mixed to make a refreshing toner. I heard it was good for oily and acne-prone skin and I wasn't liking using witch hazel as a toner any more.  I use this after cleansing my face with the fresh farmacy and it helps to remove any remaining makeup and I feel that it is helping with my acne. Prior to using these products I had a hormonal breakout and I feel like this is particular has helped to reduce the inflammation and sooth my skin. :) This is the first time I have used a toner that I feel actually does something for my skin.

3.Grease Lightning ($10.95 for 1.5 oz)
This has so many awesome ingredients: thyme, rosemary, tea tree, aloe, witch hazel grape juice, lavender oil, and sea water. It is a light weight gel that you can apply all over the face or as a spot treatment. I am using it all over the face after the toner. I like it so far. But I do have one problem with it: it makes my face tight after it dries. Its not too big of a deal, since I just use my moisturizer afterwards. I just hope it won't be too drying in the long run.

Fresh Farmacy and Aromaco

4. Aromaco Deodorant ($6.45 for 3.5 oz)
I really wanted to try an all natural deodorant (this one is also Vegan). This has a similar smell to Fresh Farmacy, just slightly different. I think it smells like Patchouli, which is in this deodorant. This helps to block smell, but unfortunately I have noticed it does not much for actual sweating. It won't smell but you will still be sweating. I have heard people say to use this in combination with LUSH's Coconut Deodorant Powder. I think I will purchase that next time I make an order.

5.Sweet Lips Lip Scrub ($8.95 for 0.9 oz)
OMG. You guys have no idea how much I love this already. Firstly, it smells like freaking delicious chocolate and vanilla. It tastes good too ;) The scrub is not abrasive at all! It is a very gentle scrub that actually works! I have extremely dry, chapped lips. And I have used MANY lip scrubs that have never really worked for me. But I used this once on Monday night. My lips haven't been at all dry or chapped since then! And it even with lip balm application my lips always get chapped throughout the day, so this is a miracle worker. My chapped lips are the reason why I don't do many lip swatches, but now I will be able to.

6. Sample: Honey Waffle Soap
Okay, I hate this. I used it once and the soap itself it very moisturizing for a soap, but the smell...UGH! It stinks like poo poo! This smells sooo terrible. It has a nice honey smells, and that is the first note I smell, but right afterwards, I smell a really spicy gross scent. I definitely do not want to smell like this! I will never buy this, but thanks for the sample anyways. I read the reviews on the LUSH website, and it seems many other people agree with me on the smell. I love what this person wrote:
"It smelled like legit pee and I wish it was better because I love Lush! I got it as a sample and I think that they were just trying to get rid of it all because the people at Lush can't stand the smell either haha". I agree!

7. Sample:Gentile Lentil
I actually haven't used this yet, but it smells okay.

Thank you so much for reading, see you next time.

  1. Lush is amazing.. I used up my tea tree water.. It was lovely and refreshing.. The soap fresh farmacy was good at 1st but I kinda got an irritation after a while of using it.. But it made my skin feel and look so clean
