The Legend of Zelda Series: Princess Ruto

Greetings from the Dark Side!~

If you ever played Ocarina of Time, you will remember the annoying Zora princess! When she is younger and as Link you try to rescue her from Jabu-Jabu's belly, she is the biggest brat ever! She makes you carry her and she is bossy ARGH! But besides that, I always thought that Ruto and the rest of the Zora looked really cool!

This look was inspired by the blue shades of her skin, but I wanted to make the look a bit more wearable and girly to reflect her personality. I added some pretty blue gems to represent her earrings and the by the Zora's Sapphire.
Princess Ruto. Not my Image. Found through Google Images.

                                                                                Tutorial

1. As always, start off by applying a primer or base on your eyelids. I used MAC 'Painterly' Paint Pot to even out the color on my eye lids.

2. Apply a shimmery white/icy blue color on your lids.  I used Pumpkin & Poppy 'Ice Dance' cream eyeshadow from the Ice Dance collection.

3. Apply a blue creme eyeshadow or pencil eyeliner on the crease to crease a base for the powder eyeshadow. I used P&P 'Unrequited' cream eyeshadow.

4. With a dense crease brush, begin to apply either a grey-blue or brown/purple eyeshadow. I used P&P 'Not Finished' power eyeshadow.

5. Blend from the crease upwards to create a soft cut crease.

6. To prevent the creme eyeshadow  I used P&P 'Pillbox' eyeshadow on top of the lid where I had previously applied 'Ice Dance'.

 7. Start to create some definition by applying the same color you used on the crease on the lower lashline. Only take this color 2/3s of the way in. Apply the same light color you used on the lid and apply it on the inner corner.

8. Line your waterline with a white pencil eyeliner.
9. Using a liquid liner, make a slight and subtle wing at the outer portion of the lash line. This will mimic Ruto's eyes and give you a wide-eye look. It also makes the liner much more wearable and girly. I used L'oreal Voluminous eyeliner pen.

10. Apply mascara. I used Prestige My Blackest Lashes. You can apply lashes if you wish to.

11. To really make this a glamorous look worthy of being inspired by the Zora Princess, apply some Sapphire blue gems. You can place them wherever you want.

                                                                              Final Look

Later on, I also attempted to makethe Zora's Sapphire Spiitual Stone on my cheekbone using some gems and a gold eyeliner. It turned out...mediocre at best, but it's the thought that counts :D
